The WashG1 features highly absorbent microfiber filament rollers that counter-rotate to remove spills, debris, and dried-on stains in one go. Dyson’s new separation technology divides wet and dry debris at the source, ensuring hygienic disposal and simplified maintenance. It includes a 27 oz. clean water tank capable of covering up to 3,100 square feet. A pulse-modulated hydration pump precisely controls the water delivered to the rollers via 26 hydration points, ensuring even distribution and effective cleaning.

Engineering and Performance

Dyson WashG1 Wet and Dry Debris
Dyson WashG1 Cleans Wet and Dry Debris

Charlie Park, Dyson Home’s Vice President of Engineering, emphasized the importance of wet cleaning for a thorough clean. The WashG1 is equipped with individually powered rollers and a pulse-modulated pump for consistent water distribution. Each roller is designed to absorb liquid spills and envelop dry dirt, debris, and hair. Dyson’s separation technology simplifies maintenance by extracting dirty water from the rollers and depositing debris into a removable tray with a 500-micron mesh.

Ease of Use and Maintenance

User-friendly features include a self-cleaning mode that saturates the rollers with clean water on the highest boost setting, flushing the system for the next clean. The design reduces dirt buildup with large openings on water tanks for easy maintenance, and select components are dishwasher safe.

Maneuverability and Control

The rollers span the full width of the cleaner head for edge-to-edge cleaning, with two motors spinning the rollers in opposite directions for efficiency. Casters provide balance and weight support, and the low cleaner head height allows easy reach under furniture. The WashG1 offers customized hydration control with low, medium, and high modes, and a separate boost mode for removing stubborn dirt and dried-on stains.
