Eufy S1 Pro Omni Review: A Detailed Look at Performance and Value

The new flagship robot vacuum from Eufy, the Omni S1 Pro, is now available. We bought one and evaluated it extensively over several weeks, and it has proven to be one of the best hard floor robot vacuum mop combos on the market. It features a sleek design, a unique mopping system, a top-of-the-line obstacle avoidance system, and a new auto-empty bin. However, it does have some drawbacks, particularly regarding carpet performance, which we’ll cover in this Eufy S1 Pro Omni review.

Our Verdict
Eufy S1 Pro Omni
4.4
$1,499.99
We think that the Eufy S1 Pro Omni is a top-tier robot vacuum mop combo, particularly for hard floor cleaning. Its innovative mopping system, exceptional obstacle avoidance, advanced navigation, and highly efficient UniClean Station make it a standout product. While it may not perform as well on carpets, the Omni S1 Pro offers excellent value, especially for homes with more hard floors than carpets.

Eufy S1 Pro robot vacuum

The Omni S1 Pro is the most expensive top-of-the-line robot vacuum currently available from Eufy. However, it’s still slightly more affordable than the flagship models from other brands, which is consistent with Eufy’s pricing strategy.

One of the most notable things about the S1 Pro is its innovative mopping system. Unlike the typical fixed, vibrating, or spinning mop pads in other robot vacuums, the S1 Pro uses a roller system.

This roller is continually cleaned by water jets as it mops, with a squeegee squeezing out the dirty water, which is then stored in an onboard tank. Essentially, it incorporates the mopping technology of an upright vacuum mop combo or hard floor cleaner, which has become increasingly popular lately.

Eufy S1 Pro Omni review: performance and evaluation

To Provide a comprehensive Eufy S1 Pro Omni review, we put it through various real-world evaluations to determine its capabilities and how it stacks up. It excelled in many areas, especially mopping.

Mopping performance

The Omni S1 Pro has impressive mopping capabilities. Its spinning roller exerts 1 kg of downward pressure, higher than the average for its price range. In our evaluations with dried-on coffee and grape juice stains, the S1 Pro outperformed other models, effectively removing these tough stains.

Notably, the S1 Pro Omni handled large wet stains super well. Unlike most robot vacuum mops that struggle with larger spills due to their mop pads becoming saturated and streaking, the S1 Pro Omni processes the liquid and stores dirty water in an onboard tank. This unique feature allows it to manage larger wet stains without streaking.

In our evaluation for wet spills, the S1 Pro Omni proved to be the best robot vacuum mop combo we’ve evaluated.

Carpet performance

The Eufy S1 Pro Omni’s roller automatically lifts 12.7 mm when it senses carpets, which is higher than average. During evaluations, it performed well in clearing small rugs.

Comparison chart showing the mop pad lift height of the Eufy Omni S1 Pro at 12.7 mm versus the average of 26 evaluated models at 10 mm.

However, its performance on carpets was mixed. While it effectively swept up debris from the surface, it struggled with vacuuming embedded debris. In our carpet deep clean evaluation, where the robot ran on max power for a set time, it scored below average. We even ran the evaluation multiple times in various ways, to be certain, and it consistently earned some of the lowest scores.

Another issue was that despite automatically lifting its mop pad to avoid mopping carpets, the S1 Pro Omni got stuck on longer pile carpets and rugs during evaluations. So, if you have a home with longer carpets, consider setting no-mop zones in the app.

Eufy S1 Pro Omni robot vacuum features

The S1 Pro Omni excels in navigation. By replacing the top-mounted LiDAR sensor with a dToF internal LiDAR, Eufy achieved a lower profile, allowing it to clean under more types of furniture.

In our navigation efficiency and coverage evaluations, the S1 Pro Omni performed well above average, covering a 38 sq m floor plan in about 45 minutes. It also features fast mapping and multi-level maps, which worked well.

But the real star is its obstacle avoidance system. Using active binocular infrared imaging technology, the S1 Pro Omni can recognize and avoid objects really well, achieving a rare perfect score in obstacle avoidance evaluations.

Eufy’s obstacle avoidance technology is clearly effective, with three out of the top five scores in these evaluations belonging to the brand’s models.

Additionally, the app allows you to adjust the sensitivity of obstacle avoidance. Eufy notes that this can be helpful for homes with large clumps of pet hair (more on the app later).

UniClean Station

Another huge advantage of the Eufy S1 Pro Omni is its UniClean Station.

When the robot vacuum returns to the station, it automatically empties its dustbin into a disposable bag, which can hold up to 65 days’ worth of debris.

Additionally, the station washes and dries the mop pad, empties the onboard dirty water tank and refills the clean tank with water. It also refills a proprietary hard floor cleaner solution, which the machine mixes automatically.

The S1 Pro Omni’s UniClean Station is the first to feature a built-in ozone generator in the clean water tank. Eufy claims it removes 99.99% of bacteria when used with its mop. The base station also includes LCD touch controls on the top, adding convenience. While the base station is tall, the design enhances ergonomics for tank removal and button use.

Raw power and suction

This robot vacuum mop combo has impressive raw power. In our bench evaluations, it demonstrated significantly above-average suction power and slightly above-average airflow.

Its performance in our crevice pickup evaluation, which measures its seal on hard floors, was also decent. And when it comes to its primary task—sweeping up debris on hard floors and carpets—it was extremely good. The S1 Pro Omni is equipped with two side brushes and a floating main brush, allowing it to effectively pick up everything from fine debris to extra-large debris on both surfaces.

App functionality

The robot vacuum has an impressive app with robust functionality. It includes advanced mapping features such as virtual barriers and various options for bin behaviors, mopping settings, and scheduling.

The app is user-friendly, though it lacks some features found in competitors like Roborock or Ecovacs. For instance, it does not offer options to mop with the grain of hard floors or control the mop pad lifting behaviors.

These minor omissions might be noticeable to those accustomed to more feature-rich apps. But overall, the app provides most of the essential functionalities you’d expect from a flagship robot vacuum.

Eufy S1 Pro Omni robot vacuum review: value and final thoughts

The Eufy Omni S1 Pro is one of the best full-featured robot vacuum mop combos for mopping hard floors. It also has an exceptional obstacle avoidance and navigation system, making it highly efficient. Plus, the well-designed base station nearly fully automates the floor cleaning process.

Vacuum Wars

The price is also lower than many competitors in its class, adding to its appeal. However, this model might not be best if your home is mostly carpeted. While it does a decent enough job on carpets, it’s more suited for hard floor cleaning.
