MOVA P50 Pro Ultra Robot Vacuum Review: Is It Worth the Upgrade?

In this in-depth MOVA P50 Pro Ultra review, we evaluate MOVA’s latest flagship robot vacuum and mop to see if it lives up to its premium positioning. Following the success of the more affordable MOVA P10 Pro Ultra—which earned our Best Value Robot Vacuum award in mid-2025—we wanted to know whether the P50 Pro Ultra offers meaningful upgrades that justify the higher price. As always, we independently purchased the unit and put it through our full series of tests. Below, you’ll find our results, analysis, and final verdict on whether the MOVA P50 is worth the upgrade.

Mova P50 Pro Ultra Robot Vacuum at Vacuum Wars

The Mova P50 Pro Ultra robot vacuum/mop combo combines a 19,000 Pa suction system with a zero‑tangle CleanChop main brush and an extendable side brush to capture debris from corners and edges, while an auto‑liftable, removable mop is washed and dried at 167 °F (75 °C) between uses. Its self‑maintaining dock can auto‑empty dust for up to 75 days, refill the water tank with cleaning solution, and run a hot‑water mop‑wash cycle to inhibit odors. A dual‑rotary mop mechanism offers 32 adjustable water levels for different floor types and climates. Obstacle avoidance relies on LiDAR, 3D structured light, an RGB camera, and intelligent dirt detection to identify and target spills, generating four‑level 3D maps for efficient coverage. Pet-friendly features include pet check-in, live video monitoring, and suction boost for pet hair and messes. Control is provided via the companion app, “Hey Mova” voice commands, Google Home, Alexa, and Apple Watch.

The Basics

Mova’s new P50 Pro Ultra carries high-end features, yet with frequent sale prices, it’s a more affordable option than other manufacturer models with similar specs. We bought one and spent several weeks testing it alongside the less-expensive Mova P10 Pro Ultra to learn where the upgrade makes sense (and where the P10 still wins on pure value).

Mova positions the P50 Pro Ultra as a step-up in their P-line of robot vacuums, and its spec sheet brings three headline upgrades over the already-impressive P10 Pro Ultra, more suction, hotter water temps, and active hair removal.

More Suction?

The P50’s suction is officially rated at 19,000 Pa, a sizeable bump over the P10’s 13,000 Pa. This did not translate to real-world advantage, however, as we will soon see.

The P50 Pro Ultra has a 19000 Pa official suction rating, while the P10 Pro Ultra has a 13000 Pa official suction rating
Official MOVA Suction numbers for the P50 Pro Ultra are much higher than the official suction of the P10 Pro Ultra, although this does not translate to greater suction in real life conditions © Vacuum Wars

Hotter Water Temperatures

Second, the dock cranks its pad-wash cycle to 167 °F, roughly 27 °F hotter than the P10’s rinse—useful for more effectively removing grime from mop pads.

Active Hair Removal

Finally, Mova adds an active hair-removal comb inside the P50’s brush housing that snips and lifts strands as the roller turns, virtually eliminating long-hair wraps. Like the P10 Pro Ultra, the P50 Pro Ultra also has an extending side brush for sweeping hair and debris from edges into the path of the suction port.

The Pros: Where the P50 Excels

Mopping System

Mova’s P50 Pro Ultra uses mop pads with the same 180-RPM spinning-pad design found on the P10. The mop heads lift 10 mm over carpet and can extend for edge cleaning, but the P50 can leave the mop heads in the dock during straight vacuum runs.

In our dried-on stain test, the P50 Pro Ultra significantly outperformed the P10 Pro Ultra, scoring 111 points—well above the category average of 93 and far ahead of the P10 Pro Ultra’s below-average score of 73.

Tangle-Free Brush Roll

Long hair is where the two Mova models finally diverge in day-to-day hassle: the P50’s brush holds an active comb that lifts and snips strands as the roller turns.

The MOVA P50 Pro Ultra had 0% Hair tangles while the MOVA P10 Pro Ultra had 4% tangles. The Average was 38% tangles.

In our 7-inch strand hair test, the P50 Pro Ultra’s CleanCut brush left the roller completely tangle-free, with 0% hair wrap. The P10 Pro Ultra also performed much better than the category average of 38%, ending with just 4% wrap. However, the P50’s comb-style system provides that extra edge in convenience—especially for households where hair buildup is a frequent concern.

Full-Feature Dock

Both Mova docks empty debris into 3-L bags, wash pads with detergent, dry with hot air and are able to clean their own wash trays. The P50’s water runs hotter and the P50 can keep the mops in the dock, but functionally they’re very similar and are both advanced for their prices.

Dirt Detect

Another feature pro that is only available on the P50 Pro Ultra is “Dirt Detect”. Using the obstacle-avoidance camera, the P50 can recognize visibly dirty patches and give extra attention that spot. We observed this feature in the coffee grounds test, where the robot spent extra time on the messiest sections of floor.

MOVA App

App Experience & Smart Controls

The last pro we’ll mention is the polished MOVA companion app. You can load multi-level maps, draw virtual no-go or no-mop zones, and schedule room-specific jobs with custom suction and water settings. A 3-D mapping mode lets you drop furniture icons for easier orientation, and the dock menu lets you decide how often the robot self-empties and washes its pads.

Average Scores: Solid but Not Class-Leading

The MOVA P50 Pro Ultra left slightly more residual moisture than the P10 Pro Ultra, measuring 1.05 grams—right around the category average of 1.01 grams. Since excess moisture can lead to streaking, this is a key performance factor, and in this case, the P10 Pro Ultra performed better with just 0.45 grams of water left behind.

The MOVA P50 Pro Ultra left behind more water than we would like, about at the average of approximately 1 gram.

On some of our benchmark metrics, the P50 Pro Ultra landed around the middle of the pack. Its laser navigation delivered neat, straight-line coverage, but its overall cleaning speed matched the market average at 0.7 square meters per minute. The P10 Pro Ultra edged ahead slightly, covering 0.8 square meters per minute.

Obstacle-avoidance results were likewise competent rather than exceptional, with the P50 threading past hazards just barely above the broad category mean.

Efficiency comes close to the average, as well (although it substantially lags behind the P10 Pro Ultra). The robot’s mapping routine covers just 0.7 square meters per minute and its battery covers roughly 1,375 square feet on a single charge, well behind the P10’s reach of 2,157 square feet.

Despite having a higher official suction rating, the P50 Pro Ultra didn’t deliver more raw power in our lab tests. When measuring airflow—which is a more reliable indicator of vacuuming performance than manufacturer specs—the P50 reached 17 CFM, just slightly above the category average of 16.4 CFM. The less expensive P10 Pro Ultra performed better, with a stronger airflow of 20 CFM.

Cons: Where the P50 Falls Short

In our suction test, the P50 Pro Ultra fell short of both the P10 Pro Ultra and the category average, measuring just 0.71 kPa. By comparison, the P10 reached 1.08 kPa, while the average across models was 0.83 kPa.

The MOVA P50 Pro Ultra had a below average score of .71kpa in our suction bench test

Most noticeable is its below-par carpet performance: in our carpet deep-clean trial, where we test how much embedded sand the robot is able to pull out of carpet, the P50 removed only 57% of the sand, well under the P10’s 81% and the 75% average. That deficit mirrors its average airflow and below-average suction results, which trailed the cheaper P10.

The P50 Pro Ultra’s weaker suction showed again in our 2.5-inch pet hair pickup test. It managed to collect just 65% of the debris—well below the 81% category average and only slightly behind the P10 Pro Ultra’s 66%.

Verdict: Which Mova Is Right for You?

When we total all scores, those shortfalls push the P50 Pro Ultra down to #18 on the Vacuum Wars Top 20 list while the P10 sits comfortably at 9th place and remains our Best Budget pick of mid-2025.

Choose the P50 Pro Ultra if you want the hottest pad-wash water, truly tangle-free sweeping and the higher performance mopping.

Opt for the P10 Pro Ultra if you value raw suction, deeper carpet cleaning and double-length battery coverage at the lowest price point.

Either way, Mova pushes premium automation into mid-tier pricing, and both robots punch well above their weight. We’ll keep monitoring long-term reliability, but right now the brand looks like one to watch.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Mova P50 Pro Ultra really more powerful than the P10 Pro Ultra?

On paper, yes. The P50 advertises 19,000 Pa of suction versus the P10’s 13,000 Pa. In our independent bench tests, however, the cheaper P10 actually produced higher airflow (20 CFM vs 17 CFM) and stronger bench suction, which translated into better deep-carpet pickup.

How is the MOVA P50 Pro Ultra dock different from the MOVA P10 Pro Ultra?

The P50’s dock heats its wash water to roughly 167 °F (75 °C)—about 27 °F hotter than the 140 °F on the P10. The P50 can also leave its mop pads in the dock. The P10 Pro Ultra dock has a removable tray for cleaning.

Does the MOVA P50 Pro Ultra’s “active hair-removal” brush really prevent tangles?

Yes. In our 7-inch hair-tangle test the P50 ended with 0 % brush wrap, while the category average was 38 %. If you have long-hair pets (or humans), the P50 is unlikely to need much manual unwrapping.

Which MOVA model, the P50 Pro Ultra or P10 Pro Ultra, covers more floor area on a single charge?

The P10 Pro Ultra would run much further on one charge, cleaning an estimated 2,157 ft² per charge. The P50 managed about 1,375 ft²—roughly half the coverage, though both bots include recharge-and-resume to finish large jobs automatically.

Which MOVA model is the better fit for my home’s floor plan and cleaning priorities?

The P50 Pro Ultra is a good choice if your top concerns are quality mopping (with hotter pad washing), a brush that stays entirely tangle-free, and the option to leave mop pads at the dock for carpet-only runs. Otherwise, the P10 Pro Ultra is a better value with its stronger carpet suction, roughly double the battery coverage, and a lower upfront cost, while still getting most of the same automation perks.
