With the release of the Shark Stratos 2-in-1 Robot Vacuum & Mop (AV2700ZE), Shark has quietly added a new mop-vacuum hybrid robot that fits between its mid-level Matrix Plus and the premium PowerDetect. The Stratos brings mop-automation features not seen on Matrix Plus but stops short of PowerDetect’s advanced sensing technology.
The Shark Stratos NeverTouch robot vacuum and mop is built for minimal-maintenance whole-home cleaning. Its base automatically empties debris into a 60-day capacity bin, refills the robot’s water tank for up to 30 days, and handles mop pad cleaning and drying after each mission. On the cleaning front it delivers strong suction for both hard floors and carpets, features Sonic Mopping which scrubs hard floors up to 100 times per minute, and uses precision LiDAR mapping with no-go zones for controlled navigation and edge-to-edge coverage. With self-cleaning brushrolls, anti-hair-wrap technology, HEPA filtration, and app/voice control, it’s designed to let users set it and forget it—with minimal daily intervention.
Price as of October 23, 2025
Auto Empty Station: Self Empties Debris | Washes Mop Pad | Dries Mop Pad | Self Cleaning
Mopping: Lifts Mop Pads on Carpets | Can Leave Pads at Base while Vacuuming
Hardware: Threshold Crossing | Removes Hair from Brush Roll| Edge Detect
Mapping / Navigation: Multi Level Maps | Virtual Barriers and No Go Zones
Obstacle Avoidance: Unknown Number of Objects Recognized
A Step Up from Matrix Plus
Like Matrix Plus, this Shark robot vacuum uses 360-degree LiDAR for navigation, a flat mop pad that scrubs at 100 vibrations per minute, and Shark’s air-blowing edge cleaning feature, branded here as Edge Detect.
Where it moves ahead of the Matrix Plus model is in its dock and mop care system.
The included NeverTouch base has a bagless self-emptying dustbin with a 60-day capacity. The dock includes automatic water tank refilling with a 30-day capacity. It also washes and dries the mop pad after each use, and all of these are absent on the more basic Matrix robot.
The robot itself also adds Autolift technology, which raises the mop over carpets during mixed-floor cleaning—something missing from Matrix Plus, where users must remove the mop before vacuuming rugs.
Below PowerDetect in the Lineup
The Stratos does not include all of the features found on PowerDetect models. It claims to have obstacle detection, but does not mention the 3D structured-light obstacle detection found on the PowerDetect series. It also seems to lack Shark’s DirtDetect system, which targets soiled areas with extra passes.
PowerDetect robots also have a NeverStuck chassis and, on some variants, the ability to leave the mop pad docked during vacuum-only runs. These features are not listed for the Stratos.

Bottom Line
The Stratos 2-in-1 is a strategic addition to Shark’s robot lineup, offering a more automated cleaning experience than Matrix Plus without the full feature set of PowerDetect with NeverTouch Pro. It brings Shark’s hybrid vacuum-mop models closer to the hands-off category, even if some premium sensing features remain reserved for the higher tiers.
