Eufy E28 Omni Robot Vacuum Review: 3-in-1 Cleaning with Built-In Spot Cleaner

Eufy, one of the longest-running robot-vacuum brands, has been experimenting with fresh ideas. The Eufy E28 follows that trend by combining three floor-care tools in a single device: a robot vacuum, a hard-floor mop, and a handheld spot-cleaning machine. Here’s how the E28 performed in our independent tests.

At Vacuum Wars, we buy every vacuum we test, without sponsorships, ensuring our reviews are completely independent and widely trusted.

The Eufy E28 Omni robot vacuum/mop combo features advanced specifications designed for comprehensive home cleaning. It boasts a robust 20,000 Pa turbo suction capable of deep-cleaning carpets and floors. Its innovative HydroJet System includes dual water reservoirs and a dual-scraper structure, refreshing the mop continuously by cleaning the roller 360 times per minute. The E28 uniquely integrates a detachable FlexiOne portable deep cleaner for fabric surfaces and carpets. DuoSpiral detangle brushes ensure minimal hair tangling and lower maintenance requirements. Enhanced edge cleaning is provided by the CornerRover Arm, covering edges fully without manual intervention. Its all-in-one station offers self-emptying, self-cleaning, hot-air drying, automatic detergent dispensing, wastewater collection, and self-refilling. Additionally, the robot recognizes over 30 stain types and supports Matter protocol but operates exclusively on 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks. See additional info

Eufy E28 Pros

Eufy E28 Spot Cleaner

The E28’s most novel addition is its detachable spot cleaner. A cover panel lifts off the dock, revealing a hose with trigger, brush, and spray nozzle—essentially a compact upholstery cleaner that’s always charged, filled, and ready to work.

The Eufy E28s headlining feature is the included detachable spot cleaner © Vacuum Wars

The spot cleaner is exceptionally convenient because it sits pre-filled on the dock, eliminating the need to haul a separate machine out of storage. A dedicated self-cleaning button flushes the hose after each use, so upkeep is minimal.

Suction power on the spot cleaner surpasses that of the popular Bissell Little Green, and although it falls slightly below the overall category average, the E28 still removed pre-treated coffee and grape juice stains, plus a wet spill with ease.

For households with pets or frequent spills, having a ready-to-go spot cleaner in the room is a genuine convenience, although long-term hose durability may be a consideration for heavy users.

Eufy E28 Performance

In testing, the Eufy E28 proved to be an effective robot vacuum across all of our sweeping tests. It handled surface debris on both hard floors and carpet, picking up everything from fine dust to oversized crumbs without spreading debris around or leaving traces behind.

Its automatically extending side brush took care of edge cleaning, sweeping dirt from along the edges of walls and furniture into the suction path of the robot.

Eufy E28 Obstacle Avoidance

With a front-facing camera and multiple sensors, the E28 successfully avoided 23 objects out of 24 in our obstacle tests—which is among the best results to date. It reliably avoided cords, shoes, pet waste, and other common floor hazards.

Eufy E28 Mopping

The single roller mop offers one decisive advantage over dual spinning pads: it can handle wet liquids, squeegeeing them into the onboard dirty-water tank.

In testing, it posted an impressive stain-removal score of 127, well above average.

Although it left behind 1.3 grams of water—slightly more than average and therefore prone to occasional streaks—it protects carpets by automatically lifting the roller when carpet is detected, or users can simply instruct the robot to avoid carpeted areas altogether. Taken together, these results give the E28 an above-average overall mop rating.

Eufy E28 Multifunction Dock

The E28’s multifunction dock handles nearly every post-cleaning chore on its own. Once the robot parks, the dock will:

  • empty debris in a disposable bag,
  • scrub the mop roller with fresh water,
  • drain the dirty-water tank,
  • replenish the clean-water reservoir with detergent,
  • and finishes by drying the roller with hot air.

Apart from lacking hot-water washing, this routine delivers a full suite of premium, hands-off maintenance features that keep the robot and the spot cleaner ready for its next use.

Battery Efficiency

Battery efficiency proved a mixed bag. On paper, the E28’s power management is slightly below the category norm, but its generous battery capacity and systematic LiDAR navigation offset that deficit.

In practical terms, the robot covers roughly 1,200 square feet on a single charge—just edging above average floor coverage figures. Users in mid-size homes can expect the E28 to finish a full cleaning cycle without pausing to recharge, though sprawling layouts may still require a top-up.

Pet hair pickup

In our standardized 2.5-gram pet-hair test, the Eufy E28 delivered an unremarkable but serviceable performance, matching the category average of 81%. It successfully removed most loose fur from both hard floors and low-pile carpet but did not outperform competing models that specialize in pet hair.

For households with moderate shedding, the E28 should suffice, yet those grappling with heavy-shedding pets might consider a unit with stronger agitation or tangle-resistant brushes.

Eufy E28 Cons

Hair Tangles

A redesigned two-part main brush channels hair toward the center to prevent tangles with typical pet fur, but in seven-inch-hair testing the E28 struggled. Long strands accumulated behind the brush and rolled into dense “hair cigars,” earning the worst score ever recorded in that category and signaling a potential problem for households with very long hair.

Bench Tests

Suction and airflow are merely average for a robot in this price bracket. While the E28 cleans well in most scenarios, raw power lags behind the class leaders, so buyers expecting premium-tier suction may be underwhelmed.

Small Dustbin

The onboard dustbin holds just 300 milliliters of debris. The dock’s automatic emptying alleviates the small capacity, yet the robot must return more often to empty, shortening continuous run time—which could be an inconvenience in larger homes.

The Eufy E28 Omni has a smaller than average dustbin. At 300ml, it will need to return more often to the dock to empty

Replacement Needs

One lingering concern involves durability: a user who relies on the spot cleaner every day to tackle messy spills may find the hose and fittings wearing out sooner than expected. Because the spot-cleaner module is integral to the robot, its lifespan could ultimately limit the vacuum’s longevity unless spares are accessible. Eufy does offer replacement brushes, which is encouraging, but other consumables may also be needed. Time will tell.

It is possible that the hose and nozzle components of the Eufy E28 Omni spot cleaner will need replacing, which could affect the lifespan of the robot as a whole because they are integrated

Verdict

The Eufy E28 currently stands at 15th place on the Vacuum Wars Top 20 Robot Vacuum list with an overall star rating of 3.86 (average: 2.8 stars).

It delivers excellent vacuuming, outstanding obstacle avoidance, and a feature-rich dock—plus the unique benefit of an always-ready spot cleaner.

Potential buyers should weigh the risk of long-hair clumping and some possibility of extra wear and tear on the hose, but for many homes—especially those with pets—the E28’s versatility makes it a compelling choice.

FAQs

How well does the Eufy E28 handle pet hair?

The E28 matches the category average in our 2.5-gram pet-hair test, removing most loose fur from both hard floors and low-pile carpet. It’s suitable for homes with moderate pet shedding, but heavy-shedding households may want a robot with stronger agitation or tangle-resistant brushes.

Is the Eufy E28 good at mopping?

Yes. The E28’s single roller mop can process liquid spills by squeegeeing them into a dirty-water tank—an advantage over dual spinning pads that only scrub dried-on stains. In our tests it scored 127 on stain removal, well above the average of 93.

How effective is the Eufy E28’s obstacle avoidance system?

With a front-facing camera and multiple sensors, the E28 avoided 23 of 24 test objects—one of the best performances we’ve recorded in our independent tests. It reliably steers around cords, shoes, and pet waste.

Is the Eufy E28’s detachable deep cleaner good enough to replace a dedicated spot-cleaning machine?

Yes. In Vacuum Wars’ tests, the E28’s FlexiOne portable deep cleaner delivered higher suction than the best-selling Bissell Little Green and effectively removed dried coffee, grape-juice stains, and fresh liquid spills. While its airflow is slightly below the overall category average, its performance was strong enough to tackle everyday pet messes and upholstery stains without needing a separate spot cleaner.

What maintenance tasks does the Eufy E28’s dock perform?

The multifunction dock empties the dustbin into a sealed bag, washes and hot-air-dries the mop roller, drains the dirty-water tank, refills the clean-water tank with detergent, and manages the water tanks and debris in the detachable spot cleaner as well. The dock houses both the robot vacuum and the detachable spot cleaner.
