Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete Robot Vacuum First Look: Slimmest X Series Yet

The Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete is the manufacturer’s latest X series flagship, revealed at CES 2026. We saw it in action during its debut on the show floor, and it’s positioned as the next generation following the X50 Ultra, which introduced various industry-leading technologies. In this first look, we’re taking a closer look at what’s new on the X60 model and the most meaningful upgrades over the previous year’s flagship. Here’s what we know so far about the Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete robot vacuum.

The Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete is Dreame’s flagship robot vacuum-mop combo, featuring a slim 3.13-inch (79.5 mm) retractable-LiDAR design paired with exceptional 51 mm (2-inch) threshold climbing. It delivers powerful 35,000 Pa suction and uses the HyperStream Duo Divide anti-tangle brush with an extending side brush to improve edge cleaning and prevent hair wrap. In testing, it performed extremely well on hard floors and carpets, achieving an 89% carpet deep-clean score and a rare 100% score in flattened pet-hair pickup. Its upgraded mopping system includes dual spinning pads with warmed water, 15 N downward pressure, 21.5 mm mop lifting, an extending edge mop, and optional mop removal for vacuum-only runs. Obstacle avoidance is another highlight, using binocular AI cameras, edge sensors, and Proactive Illumination to detect objects as small as 1 cm while avoiding 22 of 24 objects in testing. The self-empty dock includes a 3.2 L dust bag, boiling-temperature mop washing, hot-air drying, fast charging (~80 minutes), and automatic detergent and odor-control refilling. Downsides include slightly below-average navigation efficiency, modest battery efficiency and coverage (about 950 ft² per charge), and a relatively small 235 mL onboard dustbin. See additional info

What Is a Vacuum Wars First Look?

A Vacuum Wars First Look is an early preview of a new product, focused on its features, specifications, and how it compares to previous models or competitors. Unlike our full reviews, First Looks are released quickly—often shortly after a product is announced—so viewers can get timely insights while a product is still new.

Because Vacuum Wars does not accept early promotional or free products from manufacturers, we have to independently purchase every product after it launches. Only then can we perform our weeks of standardized testing, so our full reviews take time. First Looks bridge that gap by providing an informed overview before our complete performance evaluations are finished.

In short, a First Look explains what a product claims to do and how it fits in the market, while a full review is based on in-studio testing, verified performance data, and final rankings.

A Slimmer Body With Improved Threshold Climbing

The X60 Max Ultra Complete is Dreame’s slimmest robot vacuum to date, measuring just 79.5 mm (3.13 inches) at its lowest setting. This reduced height improves its ability to clean under low-profile furniture such as couches and beds.

By comparison, the previous-generation X50 Ultra measured approximately 89 mm (3.5 inches) tall. That additional height can restrict access in tighter clearance areas, making the X60 better suited for homes with lower furniture profiles.

Both models use Dreame’s VersaLift navigation system, which retracts into the robot vacuum’s body. However, Dreame managed to make the X60 Max Ultra Complete slimmer without sacrificing threshold climbing performance. In fact, threshold performance improved.

Obstacle-crossing graphic labeled “Leap Over Obstacles,” showing 2.36in* double-layer thresholds, with a step diagram marked 0.71in and 1.65in, plus a tile labeled 1.65in Vertical Step; footnote says the gap between steps should be greater than 1.57in.

The X50 Ultra led the industry in 2025 with its 60 mm tiered threshold climbing. The X60 Max Ultra builds on that design, climbing a single threshold up to 45 mm or a tiered threshold of up to 88 mm. On paper, this suggests Dreame has maintained its focus on real-world accessibility while refining the overall form factor.

Next-Generation HyperStream DuoBrush and 35,000Pa Suction

The robot vacuum system itself has received upgrades with Dreame’s next-generation HyperStream DuoBrush.

The DuoBrush 2.0 introduces what Dreame calls a retractable pressure plate. According to the company, this plate can lower to narrow the airflow gap between the robot and the floor.

Dreame states that this creates a semi-sealed chamber, helping build suction directly at the floor surface and achieving up to 35,000 pascals of rated suction power. It’s a significant increase over the X50’s official rating of 20,000 pascals.

If those numbers translate effectively into real-world performance, it would be a substantial leap in raw suction capability for the X series.

Heated Mopping System and Carpet Protection Features

The mopping system has changed in several notable ways since the X50. The Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete uses the dual-spinning mop pad design seen on many X series robots, but adds something new: heated water mopping. The X60 now heats the water used for mopping to 40°C (104°F), which is the model’s most significant upgrade.

While still relatively rare, heated mopping is becoming more common in higher-end robot vacuum mops. We are particularly interested in how warm-water mopping affects the X60 Max Ultra Complete’s mopping performance during our evaluation.

Additionally, one of its mop pads extends outward for improved edge cleaning, and the mops lift 21 mm over carpets. This allows the robot vacuum to clean both hard floors and carpets in a single run.

For homes with high-pile carpets, the system can automatically leave the mop pads in the dock for vacuum-only runs, offering additional protection against moisture on carpeted surfaces.

Enhanced Obstacle Avoidance With Proactive Illumination

Obstacle avoidance has been upgraded. Like the X50, the X60 uses dual AI cameras with LED-assisted illumination. But the X60 expands on this foundation with projector-style proactive illumination.

This lighting system is more powerful than standard LEDs and is designed to improve the robot’s ability to detect obstacles, debris, and even light liquids. The AI system also now supports recognition of up to 280 different object types, compared to the 200 listed for the X50.

On paper, that expanded object database and enhanced lighting could improve navigation reliability, especially in cluttered or low-light environments.

100°C Mop Washing and More Dock Upgrades

Dreame is incorporating dock upgrades first introduced on the Aqua10 models into the X series. The X60’s self-emptying dust bin can hold up to 100 days of dust, depending on usage patterns.

The mop washing temperature is listed as 100°C (212°F). The mop pads are dried with hot air, and the dock supports fast charging. These features suggest that Dreame continues to prioritize automated maintenance and hygiene in its flagship lineup.

Pet Care 4.0 and Odor-Focused Cleaning

Dreame highlights a suite of pet-focused features it calls Pet Care 4.0. The X60 Max Ultra Complete includes two separate cleaning solution compartments: one for standard floor cleaning and another dedicated specifically to eliminating pet odor.

Obstacle avoidance is rated with a faster reaction time to help prevent collisions with moving objects, particularly pets. The enhanced dirt and debris recognition (combined with the proactive illumination system) is also positioned as beneficial for homes with pets, where hair, dirt, and occasional spills are more common.

A Refined Evolution of Dreame’s Flagship Design

On paper, the Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete seems to be a thoughtful evolution of the manufacturer’s flagship platform. The changes focus on refining core performance metrics, including suction, mopping capability, obstacle recognition, and usability.
