Levoit, best known for its air purifiers, surprised us a while back with their first cordless vacuum, the Levoit LVAC-200. That model turned out to be one of the most impressive cordless vacuums we’ve tested at its price point. It was quickly named our best budget cordless vacuum (see our review), and to this day, it still holds the title of the highest-ranking cordless vacuum in its price range within our ranking system.
Update — New Levoit Cordless Vacuum
Levoit has launched a new cordless model — the Levoit Aero Cordless Vacuum — featuring an auto-empty base, TripleStrike™ anti-tangle technology, and HEPA filtration. Read our full coverage to see how it expands Levoit’s growing line of cordless vacuum cleaners.
Recently, Levoit released an upgraded version, the Levoit LVAC-300, which is selling for about twice the price of the original LVAC-200. We purchased the new model and put both vacuums through our full range of performance tests to determine whether the LVAC-300 is worth the extra money, or if you’re better off sticking with the budget-friendly champion, the LVAC-200.

Design and Build Quality
The Levoit LVAC-200 and LVAC-300 are both cordless stick vacuums designed to perform well on both hard floors and carpets. At first glance, they look very similar in terms of handle design and floorhead shape, though the two models come in different colors. While the LVAC-200 remains significantly cheaper than the LVAC-300, it raises the question: what exactly does the more expensive model offer that the budget option does not?

Levoit LVAC-200 vs LVAC-300: Power and Suction Performance
One key difference is power. In our sealed suction test, the Levoit LVAC-300 reached 94 inches of sealed suction, while the Levoit LVAC-200 measured 82 inches. For comparison, the average cordless vacuum in our tests came in at 74 inches. This means both models performed above average compared to the competition, with the LVAC-300 showing a measurable edge in raw suction power.

The LVAC-300 also measured slightly higher in both unsealed suction and airflow tests, though the difference was not dramatic. In our unsealed suction test, the LVAC-300 reached 0.58 kPa, while the LVAC-200 measured 0.42 kPa, compared to the cordless vacuum average of 0.58 kPa. In airflow at the cleaner head, the LVAC-300 produced 39 CFM, and the LVAC-200 measured 34 CFM, both just under the cordless vacuum average of 42 CFM.

Levoit LVAC-200 vs LVAC-300: Battery Life and Runtime
Another difference comes down to battery life. The LVAC-300 is rated for 60 minutes on low power compared to 50 minutes for the LVAC-200. In our tests of their maximum power settings, both models lasted around 12 minutes. Levoit also claims that both models achieve about 40 minutes of runtime on their medium power setting, which is likely the most practical mode for everyday cleaning.
Overall, while the LVAC-300 does offer a better battery on paper, the difference in actual runtime is minimal—the improvement shows up more in sustained power output rather than overall cleaning time.

Attachments and Accessories
Attachments also set the LVAC-300 apart. While both vacuums include two attachments, the LVAC-300 also ships with a motorized upholstery tool, which performed well in our upholstery cleaning tests. That additional powered attachment is the biggest extra feature of the LVAC-300.

Cleaning Performance on Carpets and Hard Floors
When it comes to their core function—picking up debris from carpets and hard floors—both models are outstanding. They tied in our carpet debris pickup tests, performing above average. On hard floors, the Levoit LVAC-300 scored 4 out of 5, while the Levoit LVAC-200 scored 3.5, which matches the cordless vacuum average. This gives the LVAC-300 a slight edge on hard floor cleaning performance, though the difference was small enough to be nearly indistinguishable in everyday use.

Carpet Deep Clean Test
In our carpet deep-clean test, where we measure how effectively a vacuum removes sand from medium-pile carpet, both scored an impressive 96%, which is well above the average of 93% for cordless vacuums at any price point.

Hair Pickup and Tangle Test
Both vacuums also feature active hair removal systems on their floorheads, a valuable feature that automatically clears longer hair from the brushroll during cleaning. They tied with perfect results in our 14-inch hair tangle test, with 0% of the hairs wrapped around the brush.

Crevice Pickup Performance
Interestingly, in our crevice pickup test, the less expensive Levoit LVAC-200 scored 3 out of 5, which was above the cordless vacuum average of 2.36, while the Levoit LVAC-300 scored just 2. This means the LVAC-200 actually outperformed the more expensive LVAC-300 when it came to cleaning debris from deep crevices.

Filtration Performance
Filtration is another important factor, and in the past, it was rare to see cordless vacuums at this price range excel here. Both Levoit vacuums performed better than expected, with the LVAC-200 slightly edging out the LVAC-300 in our fog test.

Ease of Use and Handling
In terms of ease of use, the Levoit LVAC-200 and LVAC-300 cordless stick vacuums are very similar in overall construction. However, the LVAC-200 has a lighter handle weight of 1444 grams, compared to the LVAC-300 at 1574 grams, and both are below the cordless vacuum average of 1591 grams. This difference makes the LVAC-200 slightly easier to maneuver, especially when using handheld attachments for above-floor cleaning.

That said, both models share an elongated handle design, which creates a somewhat awkward center of gravity, making them less than ideal for handheld-only use. Still, both vacuums are lighter than average, highly maneuverable, and equipped with swivel heads and bright LED headlights, making them practical for everyday cleaning on hard floors and carpets.
Final Verdict: Which Levoit Cordless Vacuum Should You Buy?
So, what’s the final verdict in our Levoit LVAC-200 vs. LVAC-300 comparison? In our ranking system, the LVAC-300 placed slightly higher, coming in at number 20 out of 120 tested cordless vacuums overall, compared to number 23 for the LVAC-200. Both models perform exceptionally well for their price categories.
However, the real story here is the price-to-performance ratio, where the original LVAC-200 stands out as the best value cordless vacuum currently available, offering exceptional performance at a fraction of the cost of many competitors. While some buyers may want to spend the extra money on the LVAC-300 for its marginally better suction power, improved attachment set, and slightly longer runtime, we believe the LVAC-200 remains the smarter choice for most households.
If you’re shopping for the best budget cordless vacuum, the Levoit LVAC-200 is the clear winner. But if you want the additional features and don’t mind the extra cost, the LVAC-300 is still an excellent cordless vacuum with strong performance across the board.
