The Dreame L60 Pro Ultra launched alongside three other models at the Dreame Next event, which we attended in April of this year. We purchased one and put it through several weeks of hands-on testing in our studio. In this review, we’ll cover what we really liked about the model, as well as a few weaknesses we noticed, to see whether the L60 Pro Ultra deserves a place on our Top 20 Robot Vacuums list.

Features and Design

The Dreame L60 Pro Ultra is a robot vacuum and mop combo that sits at the top of Dreame’s new L60 lineup.

The L60 Series follows the successful L50 Ultra (see our review), which held the number one spot on our Top Robot Vacuum list for several months. Historically, Dreame’s L Series has occupied more of the mid-range segment in the company’s lineup, sitting below the premium X Series (see our Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete review). The L60 Pro Ultra pushes further into premium territory in both features and price.

Vacuuming Performance

Moving on to the pros, the L60 Pro Ultra is a strong vacuum cleaner. It performed well at its primary job of removing debris of different sizes from both hard floors and carpets. Dreame advertises the robot with 35,000 Pa of suction, but manufacturer suction claims don’t always tell the full story, which is why we put it through our own testing process.

In our suction bench test, the L60 Pro Ultra scored 1.14 kPa, which is comfortably above the category average of 0.99 kPa. It also performed well in our airflow test with a score of 20 compared to the average score of 17.

Carpet Deep Clean Test

That translated into strong real-world performance. In our carpet deep-cleaning evaluation, where we work sand into medium-pile carpet and measure how much embedded debris the robot can remove, the L60 Pro Ultra achieved a score of 90%. That’s substantially higher than the category average of 78% and significantly better than the L50 Ultra’s score of 76%.

Bottom Line: The L60 Pro Ultra outperformed both the category average and the L50 Ultra in carpet deep cleaning while maintaining above-average suction and airflow performance.

HyperStream DuoBrush and Anti-Tangle Performance

The brush design on the L60 Pro Ultra is Dreame’s HyperStream DuoBrush system. It uses two brushes that rotate against one another to funnel hair into the dustbin rather than allowing it to wrap around the brushrolls. The side brush also features an anti-tangle design and extends outward into corners.

We test anti-tangle systems using seven-inch hair, and Dreame’s DuoBrush design continues to perform exceptionally well. The L60 Pro Ultra achieved a perfect 0% hair-tangle score on both the main brush and side brush compared to the category average of 26%.

Pet Hair Pickup

The L60 Pro Ultra also performed very well in our pet hair pickup evaluation. In this test, we flatten 2.5-inch pet hair into carpet to simulate what we commonly see in real homes. The L60 removed 93.5% of the embedded hair compared to the category average of 82.2%. While the L50 Ultra posted a perfect 100% score, the L60 Pro Ultra still delivered one of the strongest pet hair pickup results we’ve recorded.

Obstacle Avoidance

Obstacle avoidance was another major strength. The L60 combines an AI-powered camera with dual-laser 3D structured light and LED illumination assistance. The system performed exceptionally well in both our standard obstacle avoidance evaluations and our more difficult torture test.

Overall, the robot successfully avoided 22 out of 24 possible obstacles. That score exceeds both the category average of 15.7 and the already impressive L50 Ultra’s score of 20. Because we were impressed with the L50 Ultra in both studio and real-world testing, seeing the L60 improve on that result gives us confidence that it should perform very well in real homes.

ProLeap Threshold Climbing

In addition to excellent obstacle avoidance, the L60 Pro Ultra introduces Dreame’s new ProLeap threshold-climbing hardware. The system is rated to clear tiered thresholds up to 88 mm tall, with the first step measuring up to 45 mm.

In our studio testing, the robot successfully crossed a single threshold measuring 51 mm, exceeding its official first-step rating and dramatically outperforming the L50 Ultra’s 25 mm result. If threshold climbing is important in your home, this is one of the strongest systems we’ve tested.

It’s also worth noting that the Pro Ultra is the only model in the L60 family rated to climb thresholds this high. The standard L60 Ultra is rated for 60 mm tiered thresholds, while the remaining L60 models are rated for 40 mm.

How Vacuum Wars Tests Robot Vacuums: Step into the world of Vacuum Wars, where real-world tests, straight-forward reviews, and no sponsored products redefine robot vacuum evaluations.

Low-Profile Design

The L60 Pro Ultra stands just 89 mm tall, or approximately 3.5 inches. That makes it lower than both the category average of 97 mm and the L50 Ultra’s height of 99 mm. Combined with Dreame’s VersaLift retractable LiDAR system, this allows the robot to access spaces beneath lower furniture that many competing robot vacuums cannot reach.

Dock Features

Dock features are another major advantage. Like many premium robot vacuums, the L60 Pro Ultra comes with a multifunction dock designed to automate much of the maintenance process. The goal is to reduce hands-on upkeep while keeping the robot operating at peak performance between cleaning runs. The L60’s multifunction dock includes:

  • Automatic dustbin emptying into a disposable bag
  • Mop washing with 212°F hot water
  • Hot-air mop drying
  • Fast charging
  • Automatic detergent mixing
  • Automatic mop pad removal for vacuum-only cleaning

One especially useful feature is the robot’s ability to leave its mop pads behind in the dock during vacuum-only cleaning sessions. This provides an additional layer of protection for carpets by eliminating the possibility of damp mop pads contacting carpet fibers.

Mopping Features

Mopping is another area where the L60 Pro Ultra includes a premium feature set. Like the rest of the L60 family, it uses dual spinning mop pads. One of the highlights of the Pro Ultra model is its ability to heat mop water to 40°C (104°F). The heated water is designed to help loosen and remove stubborn messes more effectively.

The mop pads can also automatically lift 10.5 mm when carpets are detected, allowing the robot to clean mixed-floor homes without unnecessarily wetting carpeted surfaces.

App Features and Smart Home Integration

The Dreame app remains one of our favorites in the industry. It includes extensive room customization options, cleaning settings, no-go zones, map editing, and scheduling features. The onboard camera can also be accessed remotely through the app for home monitoring and manual driving.

The software includes advanced features such as cleaning in the same direction as flooring material to help reduce visible streaking. The robot supports third-party voice assistants, includes its own onboard voice assistant, and is Matter compatible.

Mopping Performance Was More Mixed

Before moving on to the drawbacks, it’s important to point out that none of these issues are likely to be major deal breakers for most homes. The first weakness was mopping performance.

The L60 Pro Ultra performed well in our dried stain removal test, earning a score of 120 compared to the category average of 108. However, it also used more water than we prefer. In our water penalty evaluation, the robot recorded 1.6 grams compared to the category average of 1.07 grams and the L50 Ultra’s 0.3 grams. Although water flow can be adjusted, we found very little measurable difference between the low, medium, and high settings. All three settings produced the same 1.6-gram result in our measurements.

When we combined stain removal performance with the water penalty score, the resulting mopping score was 18.7, which is slightly below the category average of 20.3 and well below the L50 Ultra’s 27.4.

Mopping Performance Comparison

MetricL60 Pro UltraL50 UltraAverage
Stain Removal120112108
Water Penalty1.6 g0.3 g1.07 g
Combined Mopping18.727.420.3

Bottom Line: Strong stain removal was offset by excessive water usage, resulting in a below-average combined mopping score.

Navigation and Battery Efficiency

Another area where the L60 Pro Ultra showed some weakness was navigation efficiency. The robot uses Dreame’s VersaLift retracting LiDAR system, which lowers itself into the body when low-clearance furniture is detected. While this helps improve furniture access, the robot’s navigation efficiency score of 0.64 square meters per minute was slightly below the category average of 0.71.

Battery efficiency was also below average. The L60 Pro Ultra earned a score of 1.48 square meters per 1% battery compared to the category average of 1.56 and the L50 Ultra’s 1.72.

Dreame uses a larger 6,400 mAh battery in the Pro Ultra compared to the 5,200 mAh battery found in the other L60 models, likely to help offset the additional power demands of heated-water mopping.

Combined, the lower navigation and battery efficiency scores resulted in an estimated coverage area of approximately 1,020 square feet per charge compared to the category average of 1,170 square feet and the L50 Ultra’s 1,277 square feet.

For most homes, the recharge-and-resume feature will minimize the impact of these lower efficiency scores. However, if you have a large floor plan or extensive carpeting, it’s something worth considering.

Navigation and Battery Efficiency Comparison

MetricL60 Pro UltraL50 UltraAverage
Navigation Efficiency0.640.690.71
Battery Efficiency1.481.721.56

Bottom Line: The L60 Pro Ultra trades some efficiency for its expanded feature set and heated-water mopping system.

Final Verdict

The Dreame L60 Pro Ultra enters the market as one of the strongest all-around robot vacuum and mop combinations we’ve tested. Its strengths are numerous: powerful vacuuming performance, a 90% carpet deep-cleaning score, perfect anti-tangle results, strong pet hair pickup, excellent obstacle avoidance, industry-leading threshold climbing, premium dock automation, a low-profile design, and one of the best robot vacuum apps currently available.

Its weaknesses are comparatively minor. Mopping performance wasn’t quite as impressive as the feature set suggested, and both navigation efficiency and battery efficiency landed slightly below average.

This is still a relatively new release, so we’ll continue monitoring long-term user feedback as more owners spend time with the product. If significant trends emerge, its position in our rankings could change over time.

For now, however, the Dreame L60 Pro Ultra has secured a very high position on our Top 20 Robot Vacuums list. With powerful vacuuming, high-performing obstacle avoidance, exceptional threshold climbing, and a low-profile design, it stands out as an agile and highly capable floor-cleaning system.
