The Ecovacs T90 Pro Omni impressed in Vacuum Wars testing as one of the brand’s best-performing robots to date, combining powerful vacuuming, excellent mopping, and premium automation features. Powered by Ecovacs’ latest Blast technology, it delivers a claimed 30,000Pa suction level and achieved airflow and debris pickup results well above average, including excellent carpet deep-cleaning performance. In pet hair testing, it earned a rare 100% pickup score versus the 82% average, while its ZeroTangle 4.0 brush system also achieved a perfect score in seven-inch hair tangle tests. Obstacle avoidance was another standout, successfully avoiding 23 of 24 objects in testing. The Osmo Roller 3.0 mopping system scored 157 points in dried stain tests, nearly 50% above average, giving it the second-highest combined mopping score ever recorded by Vacuum Wars. Additional pros include Matter compatibility, hot-water mop washing, fast charging, strong battery efficiency, and a low-profile embedded LiDAR design. The main drawback was its very small 250ml dustbin, roughly 30% smaller than average, though frequent auto-emptying helps reduce the issue. Navigation efficiency was slightly above average and threshold crossing reached 32mm though navigation quirks still occasionally appeared during testing sessions. See additional info

Ecovacs T90 Pro Omni Design and Positioning

The Deebot T90 Pro Omni follows last year’s T80 Pro (see our review) with substantial upgrades across multiple metrics. ECOVACS also made an interesting aesthetic change with this generation, opting for a textured outer shell on both the robot and the docking station. The softer texture gives the robot a less industrial, more home-friendly appearance compared to some of the more industrial-looking competitors in the category.

The T90 is positioned as a premium mid-range robot vacuum, and based on pricing and features, we think its most natural competitor is the Dreame L50 Ultra (see our review).

Another notable design element is the use of embedded LiDAR. Instead of having a large turret mounted on top, the LiDAR is integrated into the body of the robot, lowering the overall height slightly. The T90 measures 3.7 inches tall, or 94mm, which is just below the category average and slightly shorter than the Dreame L50 Ultra at 3.8 inches.

Vacuuming Performance Was a Major Strength

One of the biggest pros for the Ecovacs Deebot T90 Pro Omni was its vacuuming performance. It uses the latest version of Ecovacs ’ BLAST technology, and Ecovacs says this generation is both stronger and quieter than the previous T80 model. Official suction numbers jumped dramatically as well, going from 18,000Pa on the T80 Omni to a claimed 30,000Pa on the T90 Pro Omni.

High official suction ratings do not always translate into real-world performance, but in our suction bench tests, the T90 significantly outperformed both the category average and its main competitor. Airflow results were similarly strong, leading the category in our testing.

Bench Test Comparison

SuctionAirflow
Deebot T90 Pro Omni1.23kPa21 CFM
Dreame L50 Ultra0.47kPa17 CFM
Average0.99kPa17 CFM

Those numbers translated into excellent real-world cleaning performance. In our debris pickup tests, the T90 did a great job removing debris of varying sizes from both hard floors and carpets, making a very clean sweep in the first pass.

In our carpet deep clean test, where sand and grit are embedded into medium-pile carpet, the T90 scored 81%, which was above the average score of 78%, although slightly below the Dreame L50 Ultra’s 90%.

Excellent Pet Hair Pickup and Hair Tangle Prevention

Where the Ecovacs T90 Pro Omni really stood out was in hair management.

For our flattened pet hair pickup test, we press 2.5-inch pet hair into carpet to simulate how robot vacuums encounter hair in real homes. The T90 achieved a rare 100% score, removing every strand of hair from the carpet. That substantially outperformed the category average of 82%.

We also test long hair tangle resistance because hair wrapping around the main brush can reduce agitation performance and force the vacuum motor to work harder over time. The T90 uses Ecovacs ’ ZeroTangle 4.0 system with a single main brush and fixed side brush. In our 7-inch hair tangle test, it achieved a perfect 0% tangle score, with no hair wrapping around the brush at all. That compares favorably to the category average of 26%.

Graphic comparing results from a 7-inch hair tangle test, showing the Ecovacs Deebot T90 Pro Omni with 0% tangled hair, the Dreame L50 Ultra with 0% tangled hair, and the category average at 26% tangled hair.
In Vacuum Wars’ 7-inch hair tangle test, the Ecovacs Deebot T90 Pro Omni achieved a perfect 0% hair tangle score, matching the Dreame L50 Ultra and significantly outperforming the 26% category average. © Vacuum Wars

For homes with pets or long hair, this was one of the strongest overall performances we’ve seen from an Ecovacs robot vacuum.

Obstacle Avoidance Was a Huge Upgrade

Obstacle avoidance was another major strength for the T90 Pro Omni and one of the most meaningful upgrades in the T-series so far. Historically, we have seen some Ecovacs T-series models underperform in this area, so we were especially interested to see how the updated system would perform.

The T90 combines several technologies for obstacle avoidance, including a single AI camera, 3D structured light, LED light assist, and 3D edge sensors.

The results were excellent. Across both our standard obstacle avoidance tests and our torture tests, the T90 avoided 23 out of 24 possible objects, earning one of the highest obstacle avoidance scores we’ve recorded. That significantly exceeded both the category average of 16/24 and the Dreame L50 Ultra’s 20/24 score.

The robot is also designed with threshold climbing in mind. Ecovacs officially rates the T90 to cross tiered thresholds up to 40mm. In our real-world threshold test, it successfully crossed a single-step threshold measuring 32mm, or about 1.25 inches.

Mopping Performance Was Among the Best We’ve Ever Tested

Mopping was another standout category for the T90 Pro Omni.

It uses the latest version of Ecovacs’ roller mopping system, called OZMO Roller 3.0. Previous generations of this system already performed well in our testing, but this updated version includes a longer roller measuring 10.6 inches, or 27 centimeters.

The roller extends outward for improved edge cleaning along walls and furniture, and it spins at 200 RPM. It also lifts 15mm over carpet, allowing the robot to vacuum and mop mixed floor types in a single run without wetting carpet fibers.

One of the biggest advantages of this system is that the roller is continuously cleaned with fresh water while mopping, while dirty water is collected separately. This makes the system particularly effective at handling wet spills because it avoids spreading dirty water around the floor.

In our dried stain mopping test, the T90 performed phenomenally, scoring 157 points. That was nearly 50% above the category average and well above the Dreame L50 Ultra’s (see our review) score of 91.

Equally important, it achieved that result without leaving excessive water behind. The T90’s water residue penalty was just .35 grams, compared to the category average of 1.1 grams.

Combined together, the T90 earned a total combined mopping score of 34.6, which was the second-highest mopping score we have ever recorded on a robot vacuum mop combo. It finished less than one point behind our highest all-time score.

The Dock Adds Premium Automation Features

The docking station was another major pro for the Ecovacs T90 Pro Omni. One of the most interesting upgrades is Ecovacs’ PowerBoost fast charging system. This allows the robot to partially recharge while washing the mop roller during cleaning runs, taking advantage of time the robot would already spend docked.

We first saw this feature on the Ecovacs X11 (see our review), but it has been improved significantly here. The T90 can now recover 10% battery in just three minutes during these dock visits, compared to 6% on the earlier X11. That gives the T90 a substantial advantage for large homes and larger floor plans.

The dock also:

  • washes the mop roller using hot water at temperatures up to 167°F, or 75°C,
  • dries the mop roller with 145°F air, or 63°C,
  • automatically dispenses cleaning solution,
  • refills and empties the robot’s water tanks,
  • and empties debris into a 2.5-liter disposable bag.

For users looking for a fully automated robot vacuum and mop system, this dock checks nearly every premium feature box.

App Features and Smart Home Compatibility

The Ecovacs app was another strength. It includes all the room settings, scheduling tools, and customization features you would expect from a major robot vacuum brand. It also adds more granular controls that we like to see, including the ability to mop along floor grain direction. The app also includes an AI-powered cleaning assistant and built-in voice assistant support.

Additionally, the RGB camera is accessible through the app for live video monitoring and two-way video calls. The T90 is also Matter compatible, making it easier to integrate into smart home ecosystems.

Battery Life and Navigation Performance

Battery efficiency and navigation efficiency were both positives in our studio testing. The T90 achieved an above-average battery efficiency score of 1.7 minutes per one percent of battery life. By comparison, the Dreame L50 Ultra scored .92, while the category average was .71.

Its estimated single-charge cleaning coverage reached 1,372 square feet, compared to the category average of 1,170 square feet.

Navigation efficiency was slightly above average as well, with a score of .75 compared to the average of .71. While that was not an exceptional result, it was still an improvement over some previous Ecovacs robots, which we have occasionally found to have quirky navigation behavior. It is also possible that the navigation improvements are partly tied to the upgraded obstacle avoidance system, which likely contributes to smoother navigation overall.

Charts comparing the Ecovacs Deebot T90 Pro Omni’s battery and navigation efficiency against the Dreame L50 Ultra and category averages. The T90 scored 1.70 square meters per percent battery in battery efficiency and 0.75 square meters per minute in navigation efficiency.

One Drawback: The Dustbin Is Small

One drawback for the T90 Pro Omni is its relatively small onboard dustbin. At just 250ml, the dustbin is roughly 30% smaller than the category average of 377ml and considerably smaller than the Dreame L50 Ultra’s 395ml dustbin. For homes with large amounts of bulky debris or pet hair, that could potentially create issues if the bin fills before the robot reaches the dock.

However, the app does allow users to increase the auto-empty frequency, and during our home testing, we observed the robot returning to the dock to empty itself multiple times during cleaning runs. For most homes, this likely will not be a significant issue.

During home testing, the Ecovacs Deebot T90 Pro Omni frequently returned to the dock to auto-empty its relatively small 250 mL dustbin, helping maintain cleaning performance even in homes with pets and larger debris loads. © Vacuum Wars

Final Verdict: One of the Best Ecovacs Robot Vacuums Yet

But based on our testing so far, the T90 Pro Omni was an exceptionally strong performer and the best ECOVACS robot vacuum we have tested to date. It combines class-leading vacuuming power, superior mopping performance, premium docking automations, excellent pet hair performance, and dramatically improved obstacle avoidance into a very compelling package.

Its roller mopping system delivered one of the highest mopping scores we have ever recorded, while its vacuuming and hair pickup performance ranked among the best in its class. The PowerBoost charging system also gives it a meaningful advantage for larger homes compared to many competitors.

While the smaller dustbin and slightly inconsistent real-world navigation efficiency keep it from being perfect, those drawbacks were relatively minor compared to the overall performance.

As a result, the Ecovacs Deebot T90 Pro Omni earned a position very high on our Top 20 Robot Vacuums list and currently stands as the mid-range robot vacuum to beat.
