The Eufy Omni S2 is Eufy’s flagship robot vacuum and mop, pairing its AeroTurbo 2.0 vacuum system with 30,000Pa of suction, a DuoSpiral split main brush, an extending side brush, and the HyperStream 2.0 self-cleaning roller mop. In testing, it excelled on carpets, removing 87% of embedded sand compared to the S1’s 61%, while lifting more than 88% of flattened pet hair from carpet. Its anti-tangle brush design also achieved a perfect score, with no hair wrapping during the 7-inch hair test. Obstacle avoidance was another standout, earning a flawless 24 out of 24 by avoiding every object in both standard and torture tests. The roller mop spins at 240 RPM, applies 15N of downward pressure, lifts 28mm over carpet, and is supported by the Uniclean dock, which washes the roller with 140°F water, dries it with 131°F hot air, auto-dispenses detergent, fast charges the robot, and stores up to 68 days of debris. Downsides include below-average mopping stain performance with an 82-point score, reduced water output, lower-than-average navigation efficiency and estimated square footage per charge, some fine debris scattering on hard floors, inconsistent 32mm threshold climbing, and no live camera viewing despite the onboard camera. The Omni S2 is a vacuum and mop combo utilizing a roller-style mop paired with a highly automated, multifunctional base station. Positioned at the top of Eufy’s current floorcare lineup, it carries a premium price tag to match its flagship status. This model directly succeeds last year’s S1 Pro (see our review), which blew us away with its hard floor mopping performance but struggled with carpet-based pickup and navigating over thicker pile rugs.

The Omni S2 did a great job correcting those carpet shortcomings through a redesigned brush and advanced chassis lifting.

Carpet and Vacuuming Performance Upgrades

Vacuuming on this model is exceptional. Powered by Eufy’s AeroTurbo 2.0 technology, the S2 has an official suction rating of 30,000 Pascals, backed by a sealed five-layer filtration system that prevents fine debris from escaping into the air during a run.

More importantly, the mechanical chassis lifting mechanism is more advanced than its predecessor. Eufy claims the S2 can vacuum carpets up to two inches thick, providing the mobility on plush rugs that the S1 struggled with.

And it did a good job in our carpet deep clean test. In this test, we embed a precise amount of sand into medium-pile carpet and calculate the percentage the vacuum could remove. While the older S1 only managed a disappointing 61%, the new Omni S2 surged ahead by a wide margin, pulling up 87% of the sand—a score that sits comfortably above our current studio average of 78%.

Studio Test Snapshot: Flattened Pet Hair Pickup

The story was much the same when it came to pet hair pickup on carpet. For this test, we press two-and-a-half-inch hair strands into the carpet fibers to replicate real-world conditions. The S2 retrieved 88.5% of the hair, easily outperforming both the studio baseline and the previous generation.

One driver for this leap in performance is the new brush system. The Omni S2 uses dual side brushes, one with an articulating arm that extends to sweep debris out from deep corners. Beneath the chassis, Eufy introduces the DuoSpiral main brush—a split-roller system featuring a distinct center gap designed to channel hair into the suction port instead of allowing it to wind around the roller.

This mechanical design worked flawlessly during our 7-inch hair tangle evaluation, yielding a perfect 0% tangle metric, compared to the S1’s average wrap rate of 26%.

General debris pickup on both hard floors and carpets proved reliable across a range of particle sizes. We did observe minor scattering of finer particles on hard surfaces during the initial pass due to the rotational speed of the side brushes, though it recovered the stray debris on the second pass.

As an added luxury feature, the chassis houses an integrated fragrance dispenser that accepts specialized cartridges, offering three scent options to freshen the air while cleaning.

Flawless Obstacle Avoidance

One of the most impressive milestones achieved by the Omni S2 lies within its navigation and obstacle avoidance suite. Marketing under the name 3D MatrixEye 2.0, this system pairs advanced 3D Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensors with a single front-facing camera, supported by an automatic LED light matrix for low-light tracking.

Eufy states that the AI-powered camera recognizes over 200 distinct household items. Its 3D environmental mapping can tailor cleaning paths based on specific room categories.

When subjected to our standard obstacle course and our high-difficulty torture test, the Omni S2 delivered a perfect score, successfully navigating around all 24 test objects without a single collision. To put this in perspective, the only other robot vacuum in our testing history to achieve a perfect 24-out-of-24 score is the Roborock Saros 10R (see our review).

The HyperStream 2.0 Roller Mop

The Omni S2 uses the next generation HyperStream 2.0 roller mop, a continuous self-cleaning design that constantly applies fresh water directly onto the spinning roller. At the same time it scrapes used water into an on-board dirty water tank. This design is great at handling wet spills compared to dual spinning pads or vibrating flat pads, as it actually removes liquid messes from your floors rather than spreading them along the surface.

The engineering upgrades are clear on paper: rotational speed has been bumped to 240 RPM, and downward scrubbing force has risen to 15 Newtons. Additionally, the entire roller can lift 28 mm when the robot detects carpet. This allows the S2 to manage mixed-flooring environments in a single cleaning run, though users seeking total carpet protection can still program the vacuum to avoid rugs and carpets entirely through the app.

Multifunctional UniClean Base Station

Complementing the robot is the high-profile UniClean station. This dock features a vertical design with a slender footprint, minimizing floor space while placing the internal maintenance tanks at a more comfortable, ergonomic height.

During the post-cleaning cycle, the dock washes the mop roller with heated 140°F (60°C) water before initiating a forced-air thermal drying cycle at 131°F (55°C) to inhibit bacterial growth and odor. The UniClean dock also handles automatic detergent dosing, houses a real-time LCD touchscreen status display, supports fast charging, and provides an auto-empty dustbin with disposable bags rated for up to 68 days of hands-off debris storage.

Software and Ecosystem Integration

Eufy’s mobile app remains a strong positive for the overall user experience, with healthy ratings on both Android and iOS. The user interface offers a rich feature set for tailoring cleaning settings, multi-floor environments, and detailed 3D floorplans. Within the app, users can draw virtual boundaries, establish localized no-go zones, set no-mop restrictions, and modify per-room cleaning parameters.

Where the Omni S2 Struggles: Cons to Consider

While the Omni S2 exhibits flagship-tier engineering, we did run into a few drawbacks. These aren’t necessarily fatal flaws, but several performance metrics fell below our average scores and are worth noting.

Despite the upgrades to rotational speed and downward pressure over the S1 Pro, the Omni S2 struggled on our dried stain tests. It achieved a score of only 82 points in this category—marking a significant 20% drop below the studio baseline, and a big drop from the exceptional score from the original S1.

The Eufy Omni S2 scored 82 points in the Vacuum Wars dried stain mopping test, about 20% below the current studio average and a noticeable step back from the original S1 Pro’s stain-scrubbing performance. © Vacuum Wars

We think that this performance drop is tied to the robot’s conservative water output. The S2 restricted its on-floor fluid output to a mere 0.35 grams compared to the average of 1.07 grams. While low water volume helps prevent surface streaking, it can sometimes make a mop struggle to break down dried stains. Even though its overall combined mopping score is above average, it was a big step backward from the S1, which scored way above the average. These results aligned with early consumer feedback in online communities like Reddit, where users reported some inconsistent results.

Navigation efficiency also underperformed compared to the earlier S1. The S2 recorded a navigation efficiency metric of 0.64 square meters per minute, falling behind the studio average of 0.71 and the 0.83 achieved by the previous S1 model. While battery efficiency was close to the average at 1.58 minutes per one percent of battery life, combining the slower navigation with the battery consumption gave the S2 a lower estimated square feet per charge than the average at 1,088 square feet.

Navigation Metrics: Studio Snapshot

Battery Efficiency (mins per 1% drop)1.581.771.56
Estimated Max Coverage Per Charge1,088 sq ft1,572 sq ft1,170 sq ft

Because the robot integrates continuous smart resumption and quick-charging station hardware, this lower area threshold won’t be a breaking issue for standard residential floor plans. However, for users trying to maintain extensive, wide-open living areas on a single charge, it’s a dip to keep in mind.

Three-frame sequence of the Eufy Omni S2 attempting the Vacuum Wars threshold climbing test on a 32 mm single threshold. The robot cleared the obstacle once in three attempts, despite Eufy's 35 mm single-threshold rating.
In the Vacuum Wars threshold climbing test, the Eufy Omni S2 successfully crossed a 32 mm single threshold only once in three attempts. Eufy rates the robot to climb single thresholds up to 35 mm and double thresholds up to 42 mm. © Vacuum Wars

Our final critique is threshold climbing. Eufy rates the S2 to climb single thresholds up to 35 mm and double thresholds up to 42 mm. But in our single-threshold test, it only cleared a 32 mm threshold once in three attempts. If your home has tall thresholds, room transitions, or deep sliding door tracks, you may run into occasional issues.

Conclusion and Final Verdict

The Eufy Omni S2 improves on the S1 Pro in several important ways. It has much better carpet deep cleaning, an effective anti-tangle brush system, and excellent obstacle avoidance. If your home has a lot of carpet or pet hair, the S2 is the better choice.

Its biggest trade-off is mopping. It did not scrub dried-on stains as well as the S1 Pro, and its navigation was slower than average. If your home is mostly hard floors and mopping performance is your top priority, the older S1 Pro may still be the better fit.

Overall, the Omni S2 fixes most of the S1 Pro’s biggest weaknesses while remaining a strong all-around robot vacuum and mop. It earned a spot high on our Top 20 Robot Vacuum list at the time of testing, making it an easy recommendation for shoppers looking for a high-end robot vacuum.
