Eufy Delays Launch of New S2 Robot Vacuum for Hardware Upgrade

Update (Late March 2026): The Eufy OMNI S2 has now launched after a short delay. More details about its features and enhancements from the OMNI S1 are available in our First Look: EUFY S2 review.

Preorder customers have shared screenshots of an email from Eufy indicating a delay in the shipment of its upcoming Eufy S2 robot vacuum, citing a planned hardware upgrade intended to improve performance “across a wider range of environments.” According to the email, Eufy says it has decided to implement the upgrade before the product ships, and the release timeline has been postponed.

Preorder Customers Offered Refund or Upgrade Option

In the email, Eufy provided customers with two options:

  • Cancel the order and receive a full refund, automatically processed within 7–10 business days
  • Keep the preorder and receive the upgraded version once the hardware enhancement is complete, along with a $200 gift card valid on Eufy’s website

Eufy also noted that customers who have already received the device will be provided with a prepaid return shipping label at no cost.

Announcement Circulating Through Customer Reports

The email began circulating publicly after several preorder customers shared screenshots on social media and community forums, including Facebook and Reddit, where users have been discussing the delay and speculating about the unspecified hardware upgrade.

As with any forum-based reporting, details beyond the customer email itself have not been independently confirmed.

Amazon Listing Also Appears Unavailable

In addition to the preorder delay, the Eufy S2 currently appears to be unavailable through major retailers. At the time of writing, the Amazon product listing is showing unavailable, which may indicate that the rollout has been temporarily paused while Eufy completes the planned hardware update.
