This is our in-depth Ecovacs Deebot X11 review covering the full Ecovacs Deebot X11 OmniCyclone system. We bought the X11 ourselves and ran it through Vacuum Wars’ standard tests to see how it stacks up on suction, airflow, carpet deep cleaning, pet hair, mopping, and navigation.

The Ecovacs Deebot X11 OmniCyclone is the company’s latest and most advanced robot vacuum and mop combo — and it’s a big release for several reasons. It’s the first robot vacuum we’ve tested in quite some time to feature a bagless auto-empty system, and it’s packed with Ecovacs’ most cutting-edge technology yet.

After purchasing and testing it extensively over several weeks, we were genuinely impressed. The X11 OmniCyclone delivered some of the highest suction, airflow, and deep-cleaning scores we’ve ever recorded. It might even be the best robot vacuum for pet hair we’ve tested so far — which is not something we say often. Of course, it’s not perfect. There are a few trade-offs to consider before buying. But overall, the Ecovacs Deebot X11 OmniCyclone stands out as an innovative, high-performance robot vacuum that gets a lot of the important things right.

In this review, we’ll cover its pros and cons and reveal where it landed in the Vacuum Wars Top 20 Robot Vacuum list.

Suction and Airflow Test Results

The Ecovacs Deebot X11 OmniCyclone posted some of the highest suction and airflow numbers we’ve ever recorded. In our suction test, it reached 2.35 kPa — more than double the 0.96 kPa average and well ahead of the Dreame L50 Ultra’s 0.47 kPa (see our full review of the Dreame L50 here).

Airflow results told a similar story: the X11 measured 23 cfm, compared to 17 cfm for both the L50 Ultra and the category average.

We’ve seen this kind of power from Ecovacs lately, likely thanks to their new Blast Technology, which uses a larger and more powerful motor than what’s typical in robot vacuums. Altogether, this combination of suction and airflow translated directly into stronger real-world cleaning performance, making the X11 one of the most capable robot vacuums we’ve ever tested.

X11 Vacuum Performance on Hard Floor and Carpet

When it comes to sweeping debris on hard floors and carpets, the Deebot X11 performs exactly as you’d expect from a premium model. It uses a single side brush that automatically extends for edge cleaning and corner coverage and a single main brush for pickup.

In our standardized testing, it handled surface debris on every flooring type with ease and with no issues.

Deebot X11 Carpet Deep Cleaning

Where it really stood out was in deep carpet cleaning. The Ecovacs Deebot X11 removed 85% of embedded debris in our deep clean test where we embed sand into medium pile carpet. That performance is well above the 76% average and just shy of the Dreame L50 Ultra’s 90%, which puts it firmly among the top-performing robot vacuums we’ve tested for deep cleaning carpets.

Pet Hair and ZeroTangle 3.0 Results

The Ecovacs Deebot X11’s biggest strength may be its ability to handle pet hair. In our 2.5-inch pet hair test — where we flatten hair into carpet to simulate real-world conditions — it achieved a perfect 100%, matching the Dreame L50 Ultra’s 100% and far exceeding the 76% average.

Its ZeroTangle 3.0 brush system also excelled in our seven-inch hair tangle test, finishing with 0% tangled hair — again identical to the Dreame L50 Ultra and far better than the 28% average. That makes the X11 one of only two flagship robot vacuums ever to earn perfect results in both X11 pet hair cleaning and tangle prevention, the other being the L50 Ultra.

Extreme Pet Hair Tests

We pushed both models even further in a “super torture test” using longer strands of hair. The Ecovacs Deebot X11 OmniCyclone handled 10.5-inch hair perfectly with 0% tangles and managed to resist about half of the 14-inch strands, ending with 51% tangled. The Dreame L50 Ultra achieved 0% and 65%, respectively. Even in this extreme test, the X11 maintained an edge — reinforcing its reputation as one of the best robot vacuums for pet hair we’ve ever tested.

X11 Mopping Performance and Roller Mop Design

Roller Mop System Explained

Another standout area for the Ecovacs Deebot X11 OmniCyclone is mopping. The Ecovacs X11 uses a roller-style mop pad, which in many ways is superior to dual spinning-style mop pads found on competitors. Basically, it sprays water with jets onto the roller as it mops and then squeegees excess water into an onboard dirty-water tank. This allows these roller-style mop pads to pick up wet spills where other styles can’t, and in our Deebot X11 mopping tests this system really shined.

Dried-On Stain Removal Results

In the dried-on stain mopping test, the X11 scored 136 points — well above the 110-point average and the Dreame L50 Ultra’s 91 points.

Water Usage Efficiency and Streaking

It also left behind just 0.7 grams of water after cleaning, compared to 0.35 grams for the Dreame L50 Ultra and 1.02 grams on average. This is a good indicator that the product is less likely to leave streaks on dark floors.

When we combined all mopping metrics, the Deebot X11 was extremely good – earning a total of 271 points, comfortably ahead of the L50 Ultra’s 205 and the 184-point average.

These high mopping scores reflect both better stain removal and less leftover moisture. The roller mop even extends automatically for edge-to-edge coverage, and the app lets you set the direction of your floorboards to reduce streaks — a small but thoughtful touch that enhances overall cleaning quality.

Automatic Mop Lifting Keeps Carpets Dry During Cleaning

Additionally, the Ecovacs Deebot X11 OmniCyclone uses what the brand calls a Triple Lift System, which automatically raises the roller mop when carpets are detected. This means the X11 can transition seamlessly between hard floors and carpets without leaving damp edges or residue.

Innovative Bagless Auto-Empty Dock

The Ecovacs X11’s dock is one of the most advanced we’ve seen. Most notably, it’s bagless, meaning you can empty the bin like a traditional upright or cordless vacuum cleaner without buying disposable bags.

This is another reason why we think that the Ecovacs Deebot X11 is one of the best choices for pet hair. Not only is it, as we’ve seen, the best at picking up hard-to-get pet hair off of floors — especially carpets — but if you have a lot of pets and a lot of pet hair to pick up, you don’t have to continually buy disposable bags with the X11, which can fill up rather fast if you have a lot of pets that shed.

Beyond that, the dock includes every high-end feature you’d expect — hot water mop washing at 167°F, dual cleaning-solution tanks, and a self-cleaning system that keeps everything sanitary between runs.

However, there’s a reason most brands stick with bagged systems, which we’ll cover in the cons section below.

Deebot X11 Power Boost Charging System Explained

GaN Super Burst Technology Overview

Another unique innovation from Ecovacs is Power Boost Charging. Using a GaN Super Burst charging system, the Deebot X11 OmniCyclone can restore about 6% battery in just three minutes while docked mid-clean to wash its mop or empty its bin. So every time the X11 goes back to its base mid-clean to wash its mop and empty its dustbin, it’s also getting a battery boost during that time.

This feature enables what Ecovacs calls a “perpetual runtime experience.” And that’s important because one of the issues that people have with robot vacuums that have a lot of power is that they typically have bad battery life. But if you can continually recharge its battery during the run, it can effectively just keep going, even with larger floorplans.

Battery Efficiency and Runtime Findings

In our battery efficiency test, the X11 achieved 3.42 minutes per percent of battery, far exceeding the 1.53-minute average and the Dreame L50 Ultra’s 1.14 minutes. That makes it the most battery-efficient robot vacuum we’ve ever tested, capable of running almost continuously even in large homes.

So, we think it probably does work, and it’s a pretty important invention. If it does, it might be a solution for people with really large floor plans.

Obstacle Avoidance and Navigation Performance

AIVI 3.0 Sensor System and Mapping Accuracy

The X11 uses front-mounted sensors, including a camera and what appears to be 3D structured light as part of Ecovacs’ AIVI 3.0 system. In our obstacle avoidance test, the X11 successfully avoided 20 out of 24 objects — matching the Dreame L50 Ultra’s result and outperforming the 17-obstacle average.

In real-world use, it proved both reliable and smart, even identifying dirty areas and performing targeted mopping passes where needed. This level of intelligent navigation makes the X11 one of the most dependable all-around performers we’ve tested.

Intuitive App and Voice Control

The Ecovacs app offers extensive control options for mapping, cleaning preferences, and dock settings. It’s also compatible with Ecovacs’ built-in voice assistant for hands-free operation.

Still, there are a few downsides worth noting.

Drawbacks: Navigation and Bagless Maintenance

First-Run Mapping Challenges and Improvements

The X11 has the same basic internal LiDAR navigation that we’ve seen with most of Ecovacs’ flagships lately, and we are generally not very impressed with this system. We actually think it’s a significant downgrade from their previous top-mounted LiDAR systems.

Now, the reason that companies like Ecovacs are doing this is to make their robots slimmer so that they can fit under more furniture, but in this case, the Deebot X11’s larger motor already makes it as tall as a robot with top-mounted LiDAR — about 4 inches tall. That means it’s not actually that slim, and its navigation happens to also be slightly subpar.

We tested the X11 both in our studio and at home and found that its navigation was rough at first but improved the more we used it. Because of the internal LiDAR, Ecovacs’ mapping system feels subpar and isn’t accurate enough to complete a full run on its first attempt. During our initial test, the robot’s movements were chaotic and the run took about 30 minutes longer than normal. At one point, it spent nearly 17 minutes in a bathroom, confused by a rug and spinning in circles—we almost gave up on it.

After running it three or four more times and remapping it, the X11 got much better, and every run since then has been more or less perfect. It hasn’t got stuck, and it’s been doing its run in more or less average time. So, its navigation is certainly usable if you give it time, but it’s not nearly as fast or accurate as other flagship robots, especially on that first run.

Bagless Auto-Empty Dock and Maintenance

The second major con has to do with the bagless auto-empty system. As convenient as it is not to have to buy bags, there is a reason that most companies don’t do this, especially with vacuum mop combos.

Because the robot vacuums and mops simultaneously, the debris and hair that is collected inevitably gets damp — and damp debris sticks to the inside of the plastic on the auto-empty bin. So, when you empty it, it doesn’t just fall out like dry debris does from dry cordless or upright vacuum cleaner. It’s messy, and you’ll need to clean it regularly.

A bagged system keeps everything sealed and disposable, so while the bagless approach saves on recurring costs, it requires more frequent manual cleaning.

True Pass Threshold-Climbing

Its “True Pass” threshold-climbing system is capable but not particularly impressive. Ecovacs claims it can handle significant threshold heights, but the key number to look for is its single-tier threshold-climbing ability. With the X11, it’s only 23 mm, which is only 3 mm above average and well below the Dreame L50 Ultra’s 42 millimeters.

Small Internal Dustbin

The internal dustbin is also smaller than most. At 220 mm, it’s nearly half the size of the L50 Ultra’s 395 mm and below the 400 mm average.

Final Thoughts: A Top Performer for Pet Owners

So in conclusion — we really do mean it when we say the Ecovacs Deebot X11 OmniCyclone might be the best robot vacuum for pet hair that we’ve ever tested.

It’s incredibly powerful, it deep cleans carpets better than most, and it’s almost completely resistant to hair tangles. Combine that with its bagless dock, hot-water mop washing, strong obstacle avoidance, and unique Power Boost charging system, and you’ve got a very compelling flagship. The main thing holding it back is its navigation system — which, again, is usable but noticeably below average.
