Where the Qrevo Slim Fits in the Lineup

The Qrevo Slim is the latest robot vacuum and mop combo from Roborock with a fully featured automatic dock that empties its dustbin and washes and dries its mop pads. It sits just below the Roborock Qrevo Curv in their lineup. In terms of price, it’s about the same as the Qrevo MaxV and currently comes in just one color, black.

New Slim Design and Groundbreaking Navigation

As its name suggests, the Qrevo Slim is all about its low-profile design. Measuring just 3.2 inches tall (compared to the 4 inches typical of most robot vacuums with LiDAR), it can clean under furniture where taller models can’t reach.

Why is this a big deal? Most modern robot vacuums rely on a top-mounted LiDAR sensor for navigation. While incredibly effective, these sensors increase the vacuum’s height, limiting its ability to clean in tight spaces.

Roborock has solved this with its new StarSense Navigation System, which combines side-mounted sensors, front obstacle avoidance sensors, and a new dual-state solid-state LiDAR that doesn’t spin. The system also integrates 3D Time-of-Flight (ToF) technology, an RGB camera, and infrared sensors to ensure precise navigation, even in this compact form factor.

Unsurprisingly, in our fixed floor plan navigation tests the Qrevo Slim delivered impressive results:

  • Quick Mapping: Mapping our floor plan in just 5 minutes.
  • Smooth Navigation: Navigating efficiently without getting stuck and a completing a faster-than-average vacuum and mop run.
  • Exceptional Obstacle Avoidance: After conducting five obstacle avoidance tests, the Qrevo Slim placed third overall in our obstacle avoidance tests, outperforming flagship models like the Roborock S8 MaxV and Qrevo Curv.

We even noticed that its obstacle avoidance system projects a unique circular pattern, which worked exceptionally well during our tests.

Hardware Features

Certain key hardware features built into the Qrevo Slim robot vacuum work together to enhance performance. These include:

  • Flexi Side Brush: Automatically extends for better corner sweeping and along walls, which we find is genuinely quite useful.
  • Dual Mop Pads with Edge Cleaning: Another flexi arm on one of the mop pads for improved edge cleaning, a significant upgrade over standard designs.

  • Dual Brush Rolls: Improves debris pickup on both hard floors and carpets.

The Slim’s hardware components serve to make it an excellent robot vacuum where it counts, that is vacuuming up debris on both hard floors and carpets.

Cleaning Performance

The Qrevo Slim robot vacuum proved to be a powerhouse when it came to cleaning performance:

Vacuuming: It excelled on both hard floors and carpets, picking up all debris types we tested nearly perfectly.

Pet Hair Pickup: It was also above average in collecting flattened pet hair on carpets and resisting tangles with 7-inch hair strands.

A test result comparing 2.5-inch pet hair pickup on carpet, with the Roborock QRevo Slim achieving 80% versus the average LiDAR robot's 78%. A robot vacuum is shown mid-test on a carpeted surface.

Crevice Cleaning: It performed well in our tests with varying crevice sizes on max power.

Carpet Deep Clean Test: The Slim achieved average results in removing deeply embedded debris from carpet, comparable to similarly priced Qrevo models. It performed better than we’ve seen with some of the more expensive Roborock models such as the S8 MaxV Ultra, so in terms of just its carpet and hard floor vacuuming ability it was extremely good

Mopping Performance

Its mopping ability was also a big pro. The Slim uses two spinning mop pads which exert downward pressure as they mop. You can adjust the water levels and mop path density for more extreme jobs.

In our dried stain test, the Qrevo Slim was above average at 110 points, which is about the same as the Qrevo Curve and similar Qrevo models.

Lifting Mop Pads

To prevent carpets from getting wet, the Qrevo Slim’s mop pads automatically lift up 10 mm, matching the height of other Qrevo models except for the new Curv, which lifts an additional 5 mm. These lifting mop pads have revolutionized the industry by enabling robot vacuums to seamlessly vacuum and mop in homes with both hard floors and carpets during the same cleaning run, making them much more efficient.

If you’re looking for a high-performing robot vacuum-mop combo that can clean under furniture and offers unmatched convenience with its dock and app, the Qrevo Slim is an excellent choice.

Revolutionary Dock Features

The Multi-Functional Dock 3.0 is yet another standout feature, offering:

  • Auto Emptying: The dock empties the dustbin into a disposable bag, lasting up to 7 weeks.
  • Mop Maintenance: It washes the mop pads with hot water and dries them with warm air to prevent bacteria buildup.
  • Water Refilling: Automatically refills the mop tank with clean water.
  • Self-Cleaning Dustbin: Features spinning modules with squeegees to keep the bin clean.

We particularly appreciated the dirty water sensor, which initiates additional mop pad cleanings if needed.

Battery Life and App Features

The Qrevo Slim has a solid battery life of 180 minutes on low power. In our efficiency tests, it cleaned approximately 1,244 square feet per charge, though this may vary based on your floor plan. It also has fast charging which is only available on higher-end robots at this time.

The Roborock App:
One of the best in the industry, the Roborock app has a really good score on the app stores. It offers control over almost every aspect of the robot, including:

  • Virtual barriers, multi-level maps, and granular scheduling options.
  • Advanced pet features like live video calls and a pet checkup mode.
  • Set how frequently the robot empties its dustbin.
  • A highly rated, user-friendly interface.

Cons

While the Qrevo Slim impressed us, there are a few trade-offs to consider:

  1. Navigation Trade-offs: Occasionally, it struggled slightly during zone cleaning runs when furniture was moved, a situation where traditional top-mounted LiDAR robots might have performed better. It figured it out eventually, and it didn’t end up being a problem, but it does make us think that we should mention there may be some trade-offs with the new slim design.
  2. Lower Suction Numbers: During our bench tests where we measure suction and airflow, the raw power numbers were lower than average. We don’t put a lot of stock into these numbers nowadays because we find that they’re not really predictive of performance. For example, as we saw, it was above average with pickup ability, the crevice pickup test, and so on, so take these numbers with a grain of salt.
  3. Small Dustbin: The robot vacuum has a really small internal dust bin. Roborock has been decreasing the size of these internal bins lately, which isn’t that big of a deal because they do have auto-empty bin systems. However, if you have a lot of pet hair, you really need to set the auto-empty frequency to its highest amount because these internal dust bins have been getting so small.

Final Thoughts

In the end, the Roborock Qrevo Slim earned its spot as the number two robot vacuum on our Best Robot Vacuums list for good reason. It delivers where it matters most—efficient vacuuming and mopping—while introducing a low-profile design and innovative navigation technology.

So, if you’re looking for a high-performing robot vacuum-mop combo that can clean under furniture and offers unmatched convenience with its dock and app, the Roborock Qrevo Slim is an excellent choice.
