Roborock has announced that its new Saros 20 robot vacuum and mop will be available for purchase starting March 23. Positioned as one of the company’s most advanced models to date, the Saros 20 combines high suction power, advanced navigation, and an automated multifunction dock designed to handle both vacuuming and mopping with minimal user intervention.
Roborock continues to expand its premium robot vacuum lineup, which frequently appears in our regularly updated guide to the best robot vacuums. Roborock first previewed the Saros 20 at CES 2026.
Overview of the Roborock Saros 20
The Saros 20 is part of Roborock’s newer Saros series of robot vacuums, which focus on combining powerful cleaning performance with improved navigation and mobility. Like other premium models in the brand’s lineup, it integrates both vacuuming and mopping functions and is designed to operate with a fully automated docking station.
The robot’s design emphasizes whole-home cleaning with minimal user intervention, including automatic dustbin emptying, mop maintenance, and smart navigation to move efficiently through multiple rooms.

AdaptiLift Chassis and Threshold Navigation
One of the standout features of the Saros 20 is Roborock’s AdaptiLift™ Chassis 3.0, a lifting wheel system designed to help the robot move across challenging floor transitions.

Top 20 Robot Vacuums
Vacuum Wars’ always up-to-date rankings of the best robot vacuums. Because we purchase every unit ourselves, each recommendation is built on hands-on data. Our work now spans more than 150 models, giving us a deep benchmark for judging cleaning power, navigation smarts, battery life, and advanced features such as obstacle avoidance and mopping.
According to Roborock, the system allows the robot to climb double-layer thresholds totaling up to about 3.46 inches, helping it travel between rooms more easily without getting stuck. This type of mobility system is intended to address a common limitation of robot vacuums—difficulty navigating homes with tall thresholds, thick rugs, or uneven flooring.
What about the Roborock Saros 20 Sonic?
The Roborock Saros 20 Sonic refers to the model variant of the Saros 20 that includes Roborock’s VibraRise® Sonic mopping system. This system uses high-frequency vibrations in the mop plate to actively scrub floors while the robot cleans, helping remove dried-on dirt and stains more effectively than standard passive mopping systems.
As of now, Roborock has not announced a release date for the Saros 20 Sonic. We’ll update this page if new details are confirmed.

StarSight Navigation and Obstacle Avoidance
The Saros 20 also features Roborock’s StarSight™ Autonomous System 2.0, which combines sensors and mapping technologies to improve navigation and obstacle detection.

Advanced navigation systems like this are becoming increasingly important in modern robot vacuums, particularly for obstacle avoidance, allowing robots to detect and navigate around objects such as cords, toys, and other items commonly left on floors.
The system also enables the robot to operate with a relatively slim profile that can clean under furniture with clearances as low as about 3.13 inches.

Vacuuming and Brush System
For debris pickup, the Saros 20 uses Roborock’s HyperForce cleaning system, rated at up to 36,000Pa, which places it among the more powerful robot vacuums currently announced for the market.
The robot also includes a dual anti-tangle brush system designed to reduce hair wrap while improving debris pickup along edges and across different floor types.

Mopping System
In addition to vacuuming, the Saros 20 includes a dual rotating mop pad system designed to scrub hard floors while the robot cleans. The two circular mop pads spin as the robot moves, helping loosen dirt and light stains rather than simply dragging a damp cloth across the surface.

Like many premium robot vacuum and mop combinations, the system is designed to automatically adapt to different floor types. When carpets are detected, the robot can lift the mop pads to help prevent moisture from contacting rugs while vacuuming.
This rotating mop design has become increasingly common among high-end robot vacuums because it combines active scrubbing with automated dock maintenance. On the Saros 20, the mop system works together with the multifunction dock to wash and dry the mop pads between cleaning sessions.

RockDock Multifunction Dock
Like many high-end robot vacuums, the Saros 20 is designed to work with a multifunction dock that automates several routine maintenance tasks.
Depending on configuration, these automated features may include:
- Automatic dustbin emptying
- Mop washing with hot water
- Mop drying to help reduce odors and bacteria buildup
- Automatic water tank refilling
The dock also allows the robot to recharge and automatically resume cleaning if the battery runs low during a job. Systems like this are designed to reduce the amount of manual maintenance required between cleaning cycles.

Availability
Roborock says the Saros 20 will be available for purchase from their website in the United States beginning March 23, adding another premium option to the company’s expanding lineup of robot vacuums.
