Shark has officially released the Shark® PowerDetect UV Reveal (model RV3020XE), now positioned as the most premium robot vacuum and mop in the brand’s lineup. Building on the foundation of the earlier PowerDetect™ ThermaCharged (RV2920XE), this new model introduces UV-based stain detection and verification technology, expanding Shark’s high-end feature stack.

The Shark PowerDetect UV Reveal (model RV3020XE) is Shark’s latest flagship robot vacuum and mop combo with a bagless dock and advanced automation, and in testing it proved to be one of the most impressive Shark robots to date. Its vacuuming performance was strong across surfaces, scoring 88% in carpet deep clean tests and performing well above average in pet hair pickup, while suction and airflow were around average. Obstacle avoidance was a standout, successfully avoiding 20 of 24 objects, the best ever for a Shark robot, and battery efficiency allowed coverage of about 2,930 square feet per charge. The dock includes a bagless auto-empty system, washable filters, odor control, and hot water mop washing at 185°F with 175°F drying. Mopping scored 183 in dried stain tests thanks to UV detection and hypersonic scrubbing, but water usage was extremely high, leaving up to five times the average and causing long drying times over 30 minutes. Additional downsides include average anti-tangle results with 29% hair wrap, limited app features, 4.1-inch height clearance issues, and weak threshold climbing at 25 mm. Overall it made the Top 20 list and represents Shark’s best robot yet. See additional info

UV Reveal Stain Detection and Verification Technology
The headline feature of the RV3020XE is its integrated UV light system. When the robot enters its stain-seeking mode, the UV light illuminates hard floors to reveal biological and sticky residues that may not be visible under normal lighting conditions.

Once a mess is detected, the robot automatically engages HyperSonic Mopping™, which Shark states provides up to 7x the scrubbing power of its previous Matrix models. Rather than performing a single wipe pass, the system is designed to apply intensified scrubbing to targeted areas.

Shark also incorporates NeuroNav AI™ into the cleaning process. According to Shark, this system verifies that a detected stain has been removed before the robot moves on to the next section of the floor. This adds a verification layer to the cleaning cycle, distinguishing it from robots that rely solely on a single-pass cleaning routine.

ThermaCharged Hot Water Mop Wash and NeverTouch Pro Base
The UV Reveal builds on the high-heat maintenance system introduced in the PowerDetect™ ThermaCharged (See our review). Both models feature Shark’s NeverTouch™ Pro Base, which automates debris management and mop maintenance.
Key shared features include:
- Hot Water Mop Wash: The base washes mopping pads with 185°F water designed to break down grease and grime.
- Hot Air Drying: After washing, the base dries the pads using 175°F heated air to fully dry the mop and reduce residual moisture.
- Automatic Debris Emptying: The base handles dustbin emptying to minimize user intervention.
This high-temperature washing and drying cycle remains one of the defining characteristics of Shark’s premium robot vacuum and mop platform.

Shared PowerDetect Sensors and NeverStuck Technology
The PowerDetect UV Reveal utilizes Shark’s PowerDetect™ system, which incorporates five distinct sensors: Dirt, Edge, Floor, Stain, and Obstacle. These sensors allow the robot to automatically adjust suction, scrubbing intensity, and navigation behavior in real time based on floor type and detected debris.
The new model also features NeverStuck™ Technology, enabling the robot to lift its chassis over higher thresholds and raise the mopping pad to help prevent carpets from getting wet during hybrid cleaning cycles.

Evolution of Shark’s Premium Robot Vacuum Lineup
The Shark PowerDetect UV Reveal now sits at the top of Shark’s robot vacuum hierarchy. The addition of UV Reveal™ detection and stain verification positions the new model as Shark’s most advanced offering to date. The move signals Shark’s intent to compete more directly in the ultra-premium segment of the robot vacuum market, where advanced sensing systems and fully automated dock solutions are becoming standard expectations.
As with any new release, real-world performance will ultimately determine its standing. However, based on specifications and positioning, the Shark PowerDetect HyperSonic ThermaCharged with UV Reveal™ represents the most feature-complete and technologically advanced robot vacuum currently offered by Shark.
