Shark has introduced the PowerDetect robot vacuum, featuring a bagless auto-empty base station with sealed HEPA filtration. This model uses three deep-cleaning technologies to sense mess levels, floor types, and edges. Equipped with NeverStuck technology, the vacuum navigates around obstacles and is able to lift itself over thresholds and onto thick carpets.

Vacuum Wars Stars 2.62
The Shark PowerDetect Robot Vacuum stands out for its solid pickup performance on hard floors as well as carpets, using “DirtDetect,” “FloorDetect,” and “EdgeDetect” features to optimize cleaning where it’s needed most. Its bagless auto-empty bin holds up to 60 days’ worth of debris and eliminates the need for buying replacement bags. Strong airflow, a HEPA anti-allergen seal, and odor neutralization make it a great option for containing fine dust. However, its smaller battery capacity may require multiple charges for large homes, and its obstacle avoidance system—though handy—does not match more advanced flagship models. See additional info
Three Advanced Cleaning Technologies
The PowerDetect robotic vacuum incorporates three advanced cleaning technologies to detect and react to hidden dirt, adapt to different floor types, and navigate edges:
- DirtDetect technology senses unseen debris, automatically boosting suction and making additional cleaning passes as needed.
- EdgeDetect uses air blasts to pull debris from corners and edges into the cleaning path.
- FloorDetect optimizes brush roll engagement based on floor type to maximize cleaning performance.
NeverStuck Technology
The vacuum features NeverStuck Technology, which allows it to lift and lower itself to maneuver over obstacles and across thresholds. This innovation helps prevent the vacuum from getting stuck, enabling it to cover up to twice the area compared to previous models like the Shark RV750.
Advanced Object Detection and Cleaning Controls
Equipped with 3D Object Detection, the vacuum can identify and avoid obstacles both high and low in its cleaning path. Users can control the vacuum via the Shark Clean app or through voice commands with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. The app allows for scheduling, setting no-go zones, and targeting specific cleaning areas.
Battery Life and Mapping Technology
With an estimated battery life of 100 minutes, the PowerDetect robot vacuum uses 360-degree linear vision to map the home accurately. This ensures thorough coverage and precise navigation for comprehensive cleaning.
HEPA Filtration and Odor Neutralization
The PowerDetect robot vacuum’s self-empty base features a sealed HEPA filtration system that captures and traps 99.97% of dust and allergens, down to 0.3 microns. Additionally, the Odor Neutralizer technology helps maintain a fresher-smelling home by trapping bad odors in the base.
Self-Cleaning and Extended Dustbin Capacity
The robot vacuum features a self-cleaning brush roll designed to handle pet hair without tangling. After each cleaning session, the vacuum automatically empties into the base. Its bagless base can hold up to 60 days’ worth of dust and debris, eliminating the need for frequent emptying.
Conclusion
The Shark PowerDetect robot vacuum is designed to offer an advanced cleaning solution with its multiple detection technologies, self-cleaning capabilities, and user-friendly controls. The inclusion of a bagless base with HEPA filtration and a complete seal addresses air quality concerns, making it a comprehensive tool for maintaining home cleanliness.
