Best Mopping Award
The X9 won our Best Mopping Mid-2025 Award due to the fact that it achieved the highest mopping score we’ve ever recorded, earning 4.95 stars in our system.
It excelled in our dried-on stain test, left behind very little liquid—which helps reduce streaking—and includes a full suite of premium features such as hot water mop washing, hot air drying, and a self-cleaning mop roller that actively maintains itself during use. Its mopping features score of 111 in our algorithm is significantly above the category average of 84, underscoring its standout performance.
Another standout here is Ecovacs’ cross-category dominance—at the time of these Awards, four of the top five robots in our Best Robot Vacuum Mop Combo list are Ecovacs models. That kind of consistency suggests a major leap forward in their mopping technology.

Best for Hard Floors Award
To win this category, a robot must excel in basic debris pickup but also in crevice cleaning and mopping performance. The X9 did it all, sweeping up all sizes of debris while powered by the new Blast suction system. This wasn’t a surprise to us, given that the X9 achieved 27 CFM of airflow and 2.76 kPa of suction in our tests–two of the highest scores we’ve seen to date.
Its high-performing mop system complements its suction power for thorough hard floor cleaning, capturing fine dust to sticky residue.
Best for Carpets Award
Winning in both hard floor and carpet categories is rare, but the X9 did just that. In our deep clean test, which simulates embedded debris like sand and pet hair, the X9 excelled. Its brush system design and high airflow helped it outperform the competition.
Best for Pets Award
We consider this a composite category looking for high scores in multiple evaluations: pet hair pickup, carpet cleaning, obstacle avoidance, and any features geared toward pet owners. The X9 delivered across the board. It includes all of the hard-working features that we have found to be the most helpful for homes with pets – advanced navigation, powerful suction, and excellent hair removal from carpets.
