Welcome to Vacuum Wars and our robot vacuum awards for mid-2025. This season, we’re rolling out the red carpet for the robot vacuums that have performed exceptionally well in our rigorous testing process during the first half of the year. In this feature, we’ll highlight several standout models across multiple categories, including our pick for the best overall robot vacuum.
At Vacuum Wars, we use a 100-plus point inspection process to evaluate each robot vacuum. We also purchase all the products we review and do not accept sponsorships of any kind, so our recommendations are entirely based on performance. Best Robot Vacuum Under $200: Yeedi C12
We begin with pricing-based awards, starting with the best budget category.
Robot vacuum prices can vary a lot, and many people want to know what is the best robot vacuum for about $200 or less. And our answer to that common question is the Yeedi C12, Best Budget Robot Vacuum for Mid-2025. You can get the robot itself without the auto-empty bin for $200 currently, but you can also get the Plus or Pro Plus options for about $350, which include the bagless auto-empty bin.
Yeedi C12 PRO Plus
The Yeedi C12 PRO Plus earned the Vacuum Wars award for Best Budget Robot Vacuum for Mid-2025. This all-in-one robot vacuum and mop combines a claimed 8,000Pa of suction with the OZMO Mega system, which uses a high-frequency vibrating mop and electronically controlled water flow. Its bagless PureCyclone self-emptying dock uses four-stage filtration with 14 cyclones, while the ZeroTangle brush is designed to reduce hair wrapping. TrueMapping with 360-degree LiDAR supports systematic navigation, multi-level maps, virtual barriers, and no-go zones. A 5,200mAh battery provides a claimed runtime of up to 300 minutes. This Yeedi doesn’t have many of the features of the more expensive models, like obstacle avoidance or a self-washing mop pad station, and its mop system doesn’t lift up automatically, so you do have to manually attach and remove it when you want to use it in mop mode. But it’s good at its basic job of navigation and sweeping up debris from hard floors and carpets.
We are amazed at how much more you get for $200 these days compared to just a few years ago, where robots in this price range did not have LiDAR smart navigation and mapping or even mop options. The C12 is by no means perfect, but according to our tests, it is currently the highest-ranking robot vacuum in its price range on our Vacuum Wars top 20 list.

Best Mid-Level, Best Value, and Fan Favorite: MOVA P10 Pro Ultra
Moving on to the midlevel robot vacuum category, which is any vacuum between $400 and $699, but in this case, we will also announce the best value robot vacuum category and the fan favorite category, which is based on Amazon reviews.
The winner of the Best Mid-Level, Best Value, and Fan Favorite category is… the MOVA P10 Pro Ultra.

The Mova P10 Pro Ultra stands out as a strong mid-range contender. Its 13,000 Pa turbocharged suction and multi-level LiDAR mapping handle dust, debris, and pet hair on hard floors and carpets, while the all-in-one dock automatically empties the bin, refills water, adds cleaning solution, washes and heat-dries the mop pads, and self-cleans its washboard. The mop lifts 10.5 mm to stay clear of carpets, and an RGB camera plus 3D structured-light sensor can recognize up to 70 obstacle types—even in low light. With a FlexReach extending side brush for corners, pet-care monitoring, and “Hey MOVA” voice control, the P10 Pro Ultra delivers flagship-level conveniences at a mid-range price—making it a compelling option for mixed-floor homes and pet owners. The MOVA P10 Pro Ultra did great in our tests, but probably the most notable thing was how much you get for the price. This is the first robot vacuum we have seen in this price range that has all the new features that have become standard for expensive flagships, like obstacle avoidance, a multifunction dock that washes and dries mop pads and refills the tank, as well as mop pads that lift up automatically to avoid carpets.
It wasn’t perfect, again, but for the money, it’s hard to beat the MOVA P10 Pro Ultra. It’s currently ranking number six overall on the Vacuum Wars top 20 list, and that’s the highest a robot vacuum in this price range has ever ranked.

Best Mop System: Ecovacs Deebot X9 Pro Omni
Let’s move on to some specialty awards, which are given out to robot vacuums that show excellence in a certain area. And first off is the best mop category.
Robot vacuum mopping systems seem to get more advanced every day, and we at Vacuum Wars test robot vacuum systems in a variety of ways, including our dried-on stain test, where we give point values to stains based on difficulty and run the robot vacuum several times. We also measure the amount of liquid left behind, which we have found is a predictor of streaks. We also take into account the various mopping features that a robot has, such as its mop washing and drying features in the dock, etc.
And the winner for Best Mopping is the Ecovacs Deebot X9 Pro Omni—its combination of powerful suction, intelligent navigation, and truly thorough mopping makes it the standout choice for anyone demanding top‐tier cleaning performance.
The X9 is Ecovacs’ latest and greatest model, and it was impressive in many ways. And although it did have the highest mop score out of any robot vacuum we’ve ever tested with its roller-style mop pad, we think the real story is Ecovacs in general, who took four out of the top five spots for best mopping performance.

Best Obstacle Avoidance: Roborock Saros 10R
The next category is obstacle avoidance. About five years ago, robot vacuums started coming out with front-mounted obstacle avoidance sensors, which are meant to help robots recognize and avoid household objects that they would otherwise run over. We do five different obstacle avoidance tests to come up with our rankings in this category, and the winner for Best Obstacle Avoidance is the Roborock Saros 10R.

The Roborock Saros 10R delivered flawless obstacle avoidance in our evaluations, earning our Best Obstacle Avoidance award for Mid-2025. Its HyperForce suction and zero-tangle brush roll handle debris across floor types, while the AdaptiLift chassis can cross thresholds up to 4 cm and the dual spinnin mop pads lift over carpets. The 10-in-1 dock automates dust collection, mop washing, heated drying, and more, reducing routine maintenance. This robot vacuum also has one of the best mobile apps in the industry, featuring advanced scheduling, multi-level maps, virtual barriers, a voice-activated assistant, and advanced pet-related features.
The Roborock Saros 10R was the first and is still the only robot vacuum we’ve tested to get a perfect score in our tests. It uses what Roborock calls “Starsight Navigation,” which includes time-of-flight technology, as well as a vertical light beam and an RGB camera.
And though it was perfect in our testing, we can tell you from personal experience with the Roborock Saros 10R that it’s a long way from perfect in the real world. Obstacle avoidance on robots is an area that is certainly improving, but it’s still not quite reliable in all situations.

Most Innovative Robot Vacuum: Roborock Saros Z70
The next category is most innovative. This is a robot vacuum with the most groundbreaking new technology in the past year, and though there have been a lot of new features introduced this year, there was one in particular that really stood out, and the winner is the Roborock Saros Z70.

The Roborock Saros Z70 earned our Most Innovative award for Mid-2025 thanks to its groundbreaking OmniGrip mechanical arm—the first of its kind to autonomously stow small objects into a user-defined compartment—alongside industry-leading mopping performance, near-flawless 3D Time-of-Flight obstacle avoidance, and a multifunction dock that washes, dries, and dispenses detergent for its mop pads. It also features ultra-quiet cleaning mode with noise levels as low as 50 dB, precision edge-cleaning brushes for skirting boards, customizable multi-floor mapping with auto-switch profiles, an extended 6,400 mAh battery delivering up to 300 minutes of runtime, and an AI-powered app that offers real-time cleaning reports and self-updating firmware. While its five-axis arm worked only about half the time in our tests, no other robot this year has pushed the boundaries of home robotics quite like the Z70. See additional info
The Saros Z70 has a five-axis arm that will pop out when it sees certain types of objects, and it will bring them to a space that you define in the app to organize the clutter. And though our tests with the Roborock Saros Z70 showed that it only worked with certain types of objects and only about half the time, it was certainly a new and fun feature and deserving of recognition.

Best for Hard Floors and Carpets: Ecovacs Deebot X9 Pro Omni
The next two categories are best for hard floors and best for carpets.
For hard floors, we take into account their pickup ability, of course, but also tests like the crevice pickup test and their mopping ability.
For carpets, on the other hand, we take into account their carpet deep clean test, where we see how good the robot is at picking up deeply embedded debris like sand in carpets, as well as the flattened 2.5-inch pet hair pickup test, which shows how good the brush is at getting hair very close to the surface of carpets.
And interestingly, the same robot vacuum won both the hard floor and carpet categories this year, and the winner is the Ecovacs Deebot X9 Pro Omni.
In this case, the X9’s success is partly due to the new Blast system, which Ecovacs has added to most of its latest premium robots, which dramatically increases the airflow, which is an important metric for robot vacuums. The X9, for example, had 27 CFM of airflow in our tests, which is one of the highest numbers we’ve ever seen. But it’s also just a well-designed robot vacuum that makes it a solid sweeper on both surface types.

Best Robot Vacuum for Pets: Ecovacs Deebot X9 Pro Omni
The next category is best for pets, which is a combination of several scores, such as the various hair tests that we do, including the 7-inch hair tangle test, as well as the carpet deep clean test and obstacle avoidance tests. But this category also takes into account if they have special pet-related features, like pet checkup in the app. And the winner of the best robot vacuum for pets is the Ecovacs Deebot X9 Pro Omni, again, with its various pet features and top 10 pet hair scores, as well as a significantly above-average obstacle avoidance score. It took this category easily.

Runner-Up for Best Robot Vacuum: Ecovacs T80 Omni
Before we get to the best overall winner, we want to announce the runner-up. This is the robot that’s currently ranking number two on the Vacuum Wars top 20 list, and interestingly, it has yet to get its own individual award so far in this video. The runner-up winner is the Ecovacs T80 Omni.

The Ecovacs T80 Omni was named the Vacuum Wars Mid-2025 Runner-up Best Robot Vacuum for combining flagship-level features with a more accessible price. Its OZMO Roller mop spins at 200 RPM, applies increased downward pressure, and rinses itself continuously, while TruEdge technology extends the roller for improved edge coverage. The robot also features 18,000Pa of claimed suction, ZeroTangle 3.0 brushes, AIVI 3D 3.0 obstacle avoidance, and embedded dToF LiDAR navigation. Its OMNI Station washes the roller with 167°F water, dries it with 113°F air, empties debris, refills the robot, and supports automatic re-mopping. It performed strongly in Vacuum Wars testing, although occasional stalls within the test area lowered its overall results. See additional info
The T80, for context, sells for about $400 less than the Ecovacs X9, which we’ve heard so much about so far in this video. The T80 has many of the same features as the X9, and it probably could have gotten a lot higher in the scoring, but during our testing, it kept getting stuck in our test area, which may have been a fluke or operator error on our part. But it was consistent enough for us to dock some points.

Best Overall Robot Vacuum of Mid-2025: Ecovacs Deebot X9 Pro Omni
And now, finally, the robot currently ranking number one on the Vacuum Wars top 20 list and the overall winner of the Best Robot Vacuum for Mid-2025 by a huge margin is the Ecovacs Deebot X9 Pro Omni.
But one of the most interesting stories to us is the way that Ecovacs has dominated this year with its new lineup. For example, the number two overall right now is the Ecovacs T80, and the Ecovacs T50 Max Pro and T50 Pro are ranking number five and seven overall in the Vacuum Wars top 20 list. Ecovacs is one of the oldest manufacturers of robot vacuums in the industry, but this is the first time I can say that they have truly surpassed Roborock as the brand to beat, with the X9 leading the way.
