iRobot has announced the release of the Roomba® Max 705 Vac Robot + AutoEmpty™ Dock, now available in North America and select European markets. This new model features a vacuuming-only robot vacuum, without a mop or mopping system. It is part of the company’s latest generation of Roomba vacuums and is designed to offer high-powered cleaning and minimal user intervention.
Key Features and Capabilities
According to iRobot, the Roomba Max 705 Vac (Amazon Link) delivers 180 times more suction power than models in its baseline range, the 600 series. It includes Dual Multi-Surface Rubber Brushes, which are designed to improve performance on both carpet and hard floor surfaces, and an Edge-Sweeping Brush for wall edges and corners. The vacuum also includes Carpet Boost technology, which increases suction automatically when carpeting is detected.

For navigation and object avoidance, the robot uses a combination of PrecisionVision™ AI and ClearView™ Pro LiDAR to map environments and detect obstacles during both day and nighttime operation.

A notable feature is also the inclusion of the AutoEmpty™ Dock, which can store debris for up to 75 days, potentially reducing the frequency with which users need to empty the bin manually.

Smart Features and Integration
Users can initiate cleaning tasks via the on-device button, the updated iRobot Home App, or through voice commands via compatible digital assistants. The model is also expected to become Matter-certified later in 2025, allowing it to be used with the Apple Home™ app and other Matter-compatible smart home platforms.
Pricing and Availability
The Roomba Max 705 Vac Robot + AutoEmpty™ Dock is priced at $899.99 in North America and €699 in select European countries. It is currently available through iRobot.com and participating online retailers beginning May 11, 2025. The full press release announcing this launch from iRobot is available here.
