Shark Introduces New Robot Vacuum to Popular Navigator Series

Shark has introduced a new addition to its robot vacuum lineup—the Shark Navigator Robot Vacuum (model AV2110S). The device is designed for users looking for a hands-free floor cleaning option and includes several standard features common in mid-range robot vacuums.

Shark Navigator AV2110S Robot Vacuum

The Shark Navigator robot vacuum (model AV2110S) is a self-emptying robot vacuum designed for both carpet and hard floor cleaning. It uses SmartPath Navigation with spot LiDAR technology to map and clean in a structured, row-by-row pattern, offering wider coverage compared to earlier Shark models. The vacuum includes object detection to avoid obstacles and features a self-cleaning brushroll aimed at reducing hair wrap. After each run, it empties itself into a bagless base that holds up to 30 days of debris. Additional features include voice and app control, as well as a recharge-and-resume function.

Key Features

The Navigator incorporates SmartPath Navigation, a mapping system that uses LiDAR-based technology to create a structured cleaning path. This approach contrasts with basic navigation systems that rely on random movement patterns, and is intended to improve cleaning efficiency by covering floors in a more orderly fashion.

The Navigator is also equipped with basic obstacle detection and avoidance, which allows it to navigate around items left on the floor without requiring significant pre-cleaning. This level of object recognition is becoming increasingly standard among robot vacuums in this segment.

Auto-Emptying

One of the more notable features is its bagless self-emptying base, which collects debris from the dustbin automatically after each cleaning cycle. The bin holds what Shark estimates to be up to 30 days’ worth of debris, depending on home size and frequency of use. Unlike some models that require disposable bags, the Navigator’s system is designed to operate without consumables.

Debris Pickup

The vacuum is compatible with both carpet and hard floor surfaces. According to Shark, it includes a self-cleaning brushroll designed to reduce hair wrap, and a suction system marketed as being stronger than some earlier or competing models.

Additional Capabilities

The Shark Navigator Robot Vacuum (AV2110S) offers several smart automation features that enhance usability and allow for more flexible control over cleaning routines.

Voice Control and App Integration: The AV2110S is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, enabling hands-free voice commands such as “start cleaning” or “return to dock.” In addition, users can connect the vacuum to the SharkClean app, where they can start or stop cleaning, create custom cleaning schedules, monitor battery levels, and view cleaning history remotely.

Options for controlling the Shark Navigator include the SharkClean app, Alexa, and Hey Google.

Recharge and Resume Cleaning: The Navigator features a “recharge and resume” function. When the battery runs low mid-clean, the robot will automatically return to the base, recharge, and then pick up where it left off. This ensures full-area coverage without user intervention, particularly useful for larger homes.

Recharge and resume lets the robot vacuum recharge its batteries and then begin cleaning where it last left off.

Parts Availability and Support: The Shark website lists a variety of replaceable parts, including wheels, side brush motor, side brush, and components of the self-emptying base. This modular design allows users to maintain peak performance over time without needing to replace the entire unit.

Shark has also released a collection of customer support videos designed to help users get acquainted with their new robot vacuum and make the most of its features.
