Welcome to our comprehensive review of the best cordless mini vacuums or blower air dusters. These hand vacuums have been growing in popularity, so we purchased the top-selling models and evaluated them extensively to see how they truly perform. Each product was evaluated across multiple criteria, so in this review you’ll discover the top overall performers as well as our budget pick.

Best Hand Vacuum Overall
PeroBuno Air Duster and Blower
$69.99

The PeroBuno cordless mini vacuum stood out as the best in our tests, delivering exceptional performance with more than double the suction power of its closest competitor and impressive results in airflow and vacuuming pickup tests. It was also one of the few models with an upholstery tool attachment, enhancing its versatility for car cleaning and other tasks. On the blower side, it tied for first place in our raft inflation test and outperformed canned air in sustained air pressure, making it a superior choice for dusting sensitive electronics. The best battery operated handheld vacuum and blower

Most of these cordless handheld products function as both vacuums and blowers. They typically come with two sets of attachments—one for the blower function and another for the vacuum function. These attachments aren’t interchangeable, which means each side has its dedicated tools.

Many users find these devices especially useful as a replacement for canned air when blowing or dusting electrical components. Plus, they outperform canned air for several reasons, which we’ll discuss later.

The blower side of these mini vacuums can also be used for inflating items, a feature we evaluated thoroughly.

Best mini vacuums: evaluation and performance

Power

Power was one of the key factors we evaluated in order to find the best battery operated handheld vacuum, starting with airflow evaluations on both the vacuum and blower sides, as well as suction power on the vacuum side. All evaluations were conducted in the max power mode, where applicable.

When it comes to vacuum power, the clear standout was the PeroBuno model. This unit delivered more than double the suction power of its closest competitor and significantly exceeded the average in both suction and airflow.

A comparison chart displaying the suction power (in kPa) of five different mini vacuum models at max power, with PeroBuno leading at 11.9 kPa, followed by Meco Eleverde CR1 at 6.0 kPa, Untovei at 5.64 kPa, Herlitz at 5.48 kPa, and Foretoo at 3.9 kPa. The average suction power of the ten evaluated models is 5.3 kPa.

The PeroBuno’s superior performance was further highlighted in our various vacuuming pickup evaluations, where the extra suction power made a noticeable difference in effectiveness.

Debris pickup

In the pickup evaluation, the PeroBuno model stood out not only for its powerful suction but also for its versatility. It was one of only two models with an upholstery tool attachment, making it particularly useful for car cleaning and other detailed vacuuming tasks.

This added functionality gave the PeroBuno an edge over the competition, especially in scenarios where more specialized tools are required.

Blower

On the blower side, power was evaluated in several ways, including a timed evaluation to measure how quickly each model could inflate the same raft at max power. The PeroBuno and Yomile models tied for first place, inflating the raft in just 39 seconds, significantly faster than the average speed.

PeroBuno and Yomile (blower only) lead with 39 seconds each, followed by Kopidoe at 44 seconds, Herlitz at 45 seconds, and Untovei at 47 seconds. The average inflation time for the ten evaluated models is 57 seconds.

This impressive performance underscores their efficiency and capability in blower mode.

Canned air comparison

If you’re considering using one of these best mini vacuums or blowers to replace canned air, a direct comparison was conducted to assess their effectiveness. Using a highly sensitive scale, we measured the air pressure in grams at max power from a fixed distance. The PeroBuno model once again led the pack, delivering 39 grams of pressure—more than double the average of the other models evaluated.

A comparison chart showing the blower air pressure (in grams) at max power for five mini vacuum models. PeroBuno leads with 39g, followed by Whatook B-2 with 21g, Yomile with 19g, Kopidoe with 16g, and Untovei with 15g. The average air pressure of the ten evaluated models is 15g.

When comparing these electric blowers to canned air, the results were quite revealing. Two different brands of canned air were evaluated. Both started off stronger than the electric blowers, with initial pressures of around 55 grams.

After tallying up all the scores, the PeroBuno emerged as the best best battery operated handheld vacuum by a significant margin. This isn’t surprising, given that it’s also the best-selling model among those evaluated.

However, this strength quickly diminished—within just 15 seconds, both brands lost over half their power, eventually dropping to around 20 grams for one brand and as low as 10 grams for the other.

A comparison chart showing the air pressure performance of two canned air brands, Home Depot and Walmart, over time. Both brands start at 55g in the first 15 seconds. After 30 seconds, the pressure drops to 32g for both. After 45 seconds, the Home Depot brand maintains 21g, while the Walmart brand drops to 9g.

Another significant downside of canned air is the necessity to hold the can upright to avoid spraying liquid, which is particularly risky when dusting sensitive electronics. In contrast, electric blowers offer consistent power without the risk of moisture, regardless of the angle at which they’re held.

So, if you’re looking to replace canned air, investing in a quality mini vacuum or blower (especially one of the more powerful models) quickly pays for itself. Not only do you get more consistent power, but you also eliminate the risks and limitations associated with canned air.

Battery life

Battery is another crucial factor to consider. To evaluate this, each device was run on max power with a full charge, and the results were timed. The Whatook and Meudeen models stood out, taking the top two spots with an impressive 34 minutes of runtime each.

A comparison chart showing the battery life (in minutes) at max power for five mini vacuum models. The Whatook B-2 (blower only) leads with 34 minutes, followed by the Meudeen Air-01 with 26 minutes, Honkyob HO43 with 20 minutes, Herlitz with 16 minutes, and Roveoll with 16 minutes. The average battery life of the ten evaluated models is 18 minutes.

Most of these cordless mini vacuums and blowers offer three power settings, allowing for extended battery life at lower power levels. For example, while the PeroBuno achieved nearly 12 minutes on max power, it can run for 20 minutes on medium power and up to 35 minutes on low power. This flexibility makes it easier to balance power and runtime based on your specific needs.

Weight and dustbin

A larger battery often means added weight, so extra points were awarded to the lightest models.

A comparison chart showing the weight (in grams) of five mini vacuum models without the dustbin or attachments. Honkyob HO43 (vacuum only) is the lightest at 256g, followed by Meudeen Air-01 at 260g, Herlitz at 264g, Roveoll at 280g, and Foretoo at 300g. The average weight of the ten evaluated models is 341g.

We also measured their physical dustbin capacity in milliliters, and all models had fairly small dustbin capacities.

A comparison chart showing the bin capacity (in milliliters) of five mini vacuum models. PeroBuno leads with a capacity of 108 ml, followed by Foretoo with 102 ml, Roveoll with 100 ml, Kopidoe with 95 ml, and Untovei with 90 ml. The average bin capacity of the ten evaluated models is 84 ml.

Noise level

Noise levels were also measured, revealing a direct correlation between suction power and sound. Not surprisingly, the model with the least suction was the quietest, while the model with the most suction—PeroBuno—was the loudest. Balancing weight, capacity, and noise level is key when choosing the best mini vacuum for your needs.

Attachment set

Attachments play a crucial role in the versatility of these mini vacuums and blowers. Most models included only a crevice tool and a brush attachment on the vacuum side, limiting their functionality. However, the blower side offered more variety, with additional items like small brushes, though their usefulness can be questionable. Many models also included a carrying bag, while the PeroBuno stood out by providing a more durable carrying case, which is particularly helpful for a portable vacuum and its attachments.

As previously mentioned, only two models—the PeroBuno and Roveoll—came with an upholstery tool for the vacuum side. This is a significant advantage if you intend to use these devices for car cleaning or other upholstery tasks.

In the attachments category, the Meco and PeroBuno models tied for the top spot, each offering about double the average number of attachments, making them the most versatile options in this area.

A comparison chart showing the attachments score for five mini vacuum models. Meco Eleverde CR1 and PeroBuno tie for the highest score with 14 points each, followed by Foretoo and Untovei with 11 points each, and Herlitz with 10 points. The average score of the ten evaluated models is 7 points.

Best mini vacuums: value and recommendation

After tallying up all the scores, the PeroBuno emerged as the best best battery operated handheld vacuum by a significant margin. This isn’t surprising, given that it’s also the best-selling model among those evaluated.

However, it’s important to note that the PeroBuno is also the most expensive option. While it offers double the power and features, it comes at a higher cost.

If you want a more budget-friendly option, the Untovei is an excellent value pick, ranking second overall.
