Welcome to our official Vacuum Wars coverage of CES 2025, the world’s biggest technology trade show. This year, the Consumer Electronics Show was bigger and better than ever, showcasing groundbreaking innovations and setting the stage for what we can expect in the coming months—especially in the realm of robot vacuums.
The Rise of Robot Vacuum Arms
One of the most talked-about trends at CES 2025 was the introduction of robotic arms for robot vacuums. Roborock made headlines with its new flagship model, the Saros Z70, which features a 5-axis mechanical arm branded as OmniGrip Technology. This foldable arm can handle objects weighing up to 300 grams (just over half a pound) and includes precision sensors, a camera, and an LED light for identifying and relocating items. You can even control what the arm picks up and where it places these objects, all via an app.
Whether these arms will spark an industry-wide revolution or simply remain a novelty remains to be seen. Here at Vacuum Wars, we’re excited to test this feature extensively later this year to find out how practical and effective it truly is.
Roborock’s Saros Lineup
Roborock also showcased an array of new products, starting with two additions to the Saros series: the 10 and 10R. The Saros 10R introduces an upgraded obstacle avoidance system and navigation, courtesy of StarSight 2.0 with VertiBeam—the same Time-of-Flight system found in the Z70. Meanwhile, the standard Saros 10 sets itself apart with a retracting LiDAR system, allowing a slim profile yet retaining the functionality of a top-mounted spinning LiDAR.

Additionally, the Saros Z70 doesn’t just boast a robotic arm; it also offers a new brush roll design and a fresh navigation system. Plus, Roborock’s Saros lineup retains the Qrevo Curv-inspired system that raises the robot for crossing larger thresholds—another growing trend seen throughout CES.
Dreame’s Big Year
One of the fastest-growing names in robot vacuums, Dreame, answered Roborock’s innovations with several big reveals. First, they announced their own robotic arm attachment, which also can access and use various cleaning attachments with its base. They say their robotic arm, which has integrated sensors and a camera, promises a 400 g weight limit.
Dreame’s standout CES announcement centered on the X50 Ultra, its new flagship robot vacuum. The X50 Ultra introduces the Pro Leap system, which uses automatic wheel extension to navigate larger thresholds—offering up to 60 mm of clearance on two-tier thresholds and 40 mm for single-tier thresholds.
Other notable advancements include Dreame’s first dual brush roll configuration and a suite of upgraded navigation and obstacle avoidance capabilities. Additionally, a retractable LiDAR system allows the X50 Ultra to maintain a lower height profile. Dreame reports a clearance of 89.5 mm in its retracted state, slightly surpassing the 79.8 mm Roborock reports for its Saros lineup.
On top of that, Dreame introduced an innovative multi-mop replacement dock, which stores three separate mopping pads and automatically swaps them at the base station for different areas of your home.
Outside the realm of robot vacuums, Dreame also launched the Z30 cordless vacuum (Amazon Link) with intelligent sensing and the H12 Pro (Amazon link) for wet/dry cleaning tasks.
SwitchBot’s Surprising Lineup
SwitchBot made a splash this year by unveiling the K20+ Robot Vacuum, a multitasking robot vacuum that incorporates a smaller vacuum unit into a modular “Fusion Platform.” This platform supports various attachments—ranging from air purifiers and security cameras to fan or tablet holders—aiming to give DIY tinkerers an open ecosystem for customization. Power ports and 3D-print-friendly designs allow for creative expansions and one-off accessories.
Beyond the K20+, SwitchBot also showcased several bin options—ranging from basic auto-empty solutions to cordless vacuum docks—and even introduced a station that employs a built-in humidifier to keep its clean water reservoir topped up.
Rounding out SwitchBot’s new offerings is the S20 series, a more conventional robot vacuum featuring an extendable side brush and an extendable mopping roller brush.
Ecovacs Goes Rolling
Ecovacs unveiled its new flagship, the Deebot X8 Pro Omni (Amazon Link), marking the company’s first foray into a rolling mop head on a robot vacuum. Dubbed the Ozmo Roller Mop, it’s based on technology from Ecovacs’ sub-company, Tineco, known for its upright floor washers. Other noteworthy features include a brand-new Edge Sensing Technology, which creates a real-time 3D map for enhanced navigation.

Ecovacs also highlighted the T50 series, which uses a more traditional spinning mop pad design, set to release later this year. Leading the pack is the Deebot T50 Max Pro, which offers 15,000 Pa of suction—ideal for tackling thick carpets or large amounts of debris. Meanwhile, the T50 Pro Omni boasts a notably slim 81 mm profile, positioning it as one of Ecovacs’ lowest-profile vacuums yet and a good option for homes with limited clearance under furniture.
Eureka’s New Lineup
Though known for its long history in traditional vacuum manufacturing, Eureka is a relative newcomer to the high-end robot vacuum market. Building upon last year’s J20 model, the company presented the J15 series, now equipped with two spinning mop pads in contrast to the single roller of its predecessor.
Eureka’s newest flagship, the J15 Max Ultra, includes an upgraded threshold-crossing mechanism inspired by Dreame’s extendable wheel design and features their “Intelliview AI 2.0” system. According to Eureka, this technology lets the robot vacuum detect and clean transparent liquid spills for the first time in the industry.
Eufy’s Cordless Vacuum Base
Eufy offered something different with the E20, a robot vacuum that uses a detachable cordless vacuum base as its suction motor. This base can function as a handheld vacuum when removed. While Eufy lists 8,000 Pascals of suction for the E20, that figure falls short compared to newer flagship vacuums reaching up to 12,000 Pascals. Nevertheless, the versatility factor could appeal to users looking for an all-in-one cleaning solution.
Updated February 3, 2025: The Eufy E20 multi-function vacuum is now available to order on Amazon.
Narwal’s First Roller Mop
Narwal introduced its newest flagship robot vacuum, called the Narwal Flow. This model represents their first foray into a roller-mop-style design and features an automatic extension mechanism for edge cleaning—an innovation quickly becoming commonplace among roller mops this year. A notable highlight is Narwal’s twin-edge obstacle avoidance, achieved through a dual-camera setup trained on identifying 200 different objects.
Alongside the Flow, Narwal unveiled lower-cost models like the Freo Z10 and a mid-range option, the Freo Pro, both scheduled for release in spring 2025.
3i Joins the Fray
Another brand making waves at CES was 3i. This year, they introduced two new robot vacuums — the P10 Ultra and the G10+ — alongside their S10 Ultra, which was released in November 2024. The P10 Ultra boasts a freshly designed edge-mopping system alongside improved navigation and obstacle avoidance.
Update January 27, 2025: Both the 3i P10 Ultra and 3i S10 Ultra are available on Amazon.
Meanwhile, the G10+ sets itself apart by using a debris-compression system instead of an auto-empty bin.
Tineco’s Floor-Care Innovations
Though regular vacuum news was sparse at CES this year, Tineco had an impressive booth. Their standout product was the Floor One S9 Artist Steam, an upgrade to the well-known Floor One Stretch S6. This new model features advanced cleaning technologies, further refining Tineco’s reputation for innovation in the wet/dry vacuum market.
Final Thoughts
From robotic arms and retractable LiDAR systems to modular robot vacuums and advanced mopping mechanisms, CES 2025 showcased a surge of innovation in the home-cleaning sector. We at Vacuum Wars can’t wait to get our hands on these new models to test their claims, push their features to the limit, and help you decide which of these technologies is worth adopting.
