Dyson Unveiled: New Vacuums, Robotics, and Purifiers Announced in Berlin

Update: December 22, 2025: Since Dyson’s Berlin unveiling, more detailed information has become available across the 2026 product lineup. We’ve now published a full in-depth breakdown of the new vacuums, robotics, and purifiers based on our latest video coverage.

Read our full in-depth look at Dyson’s 2026 lineup.

At a special Dyson Unveiled event in Berlin timed with IFA 2025, James Dyson revealed 11 new and upgraded products. The lineup spans cordless vacuums, robotic cleaners, wet and dry floor systems, and compact purifiers, alongside updates in personal care. Across all categories, Dyson emphasized smaller but more powerful Hyperdymium™ motors, AI-driven cleaning intelligence, hygienic filter-free systems, and expanded app connectivity.

Dyson V16 Piston Animal – Flagship Cordless Performance

The Dyson V16 Piston Animal is a premium cordless stick vacuum designed for powerful whole-home cleaning, featuring Dyson’s Hyperdymium™ 900 W digital motor producing up to 315 AW of fade-free suction and a Dynamic Cyclone separation system that adds extra cyclones in Boost mode to maintain strong airflow and dust separation. It uses a 7-cell removable lithium-ion battery providing up to 70 minutes of runtime, with a 3.5-hour recharge time and multiple power modes (Eco, Auto, Boost) that automatically adjust suction based on floor type and dirt levels. The vacuum includes an All-Floor Cones Sense cleaner head with dual conical brush bars designed to detangle long hair and pet hair, an auto-adaptive floorhead, and laser illumination to reveal fine dust on hard floors. Other features include a CleanCompaktor dust bin that compresses debris to increase capacity, hygienic wipe-clean bin emptying, whole-machine sealed HEPA filtration capturing 99.99% of particles as small as 0.1 microns, an LCD screen displaying real-time runtime and maintenance alerts, quick-release attachments, and the ability to convert into a handheld vacuum, typically supplied with multiple cleaning tools and accessories for floors, upholstery, and tight spaces.

The new Dyson V16 Piston Animal is built for households needing maximum performance. Its 900W Hyperdymium™ motor produces 315 air watts of suction, supported by five additional cyclones that cut in during Boost mode.

Other highlights include:

  • All Floor Cones Sense cleaner head that adapts to floor types.
  • Dual anti-tangle brush bars that eject long hair directly into the bin.
  • A CleanCompaktor™ system that compresses dust for up to 30 days of storage.
  • A Submarine™ 2.0 wet roller head for wet and dry cleaning.

Like the V8 Cyclone, it will also support a self-emptying dock in 2026.

PencilVac™ – The World’s Slimmest Vacuum

The standout reveal was the Dyson PencilVac™, a cordless vacuum with a body just 38mm in diameter. Despite its slim size, it features Dyson’s new Hyperdymium™ 140k motor, a linear dust separation system, and dual conical brush bars that resist hair tangling. The PencilVac™ glides in all directions, including sideways, and fits easily under low furniture. Dyson says its compact bin can hold up to five times more dust than its 0.08L capacity suggests, thanks to built-in compression.

The Dyson PencilVac Fluffycones is an ultra-slim (38mm), sub-4 lb cordless vacuum designed for maximum agility, excelling on hard floors with its multidirectional fluffy cones head that allows side-to-side and under-furniture cleaning, while delivering excellent pickup in testing—fine debris was nearly perfect, cereal-sized debris showed minimal scatter, and large debris performed well . Its dual green lasers effectively reveal hidden dust, filtration captured 99.99% of 0.3-micron particles (validated by a passed fog test), and features like a removable battery, compacting bin, and sleek magnetic dock add convenience . However, it struggles on carpets (often stalling), has below-average runtime (30 minutes claimed, ~9 minutes on max vs. ~13.5 avg), and weaker airflow/suction metrics . Hair testing showed long strands being ejected rather than collected, handheld use is awkward, crevice pickup underperformed, and the tiny bin has a messy, overcomplicated emptying process . Ultimately, despite strong hard-floor performance, its limitations, niche use case, and $500+ price reduce overall value.

Dyson V8 Cyclone – A Next-Gen Classic

Dyson updated its long-running V8 cordless vacuum with a new Cyclone model. It delivers 30% more suction than the original, up to 60 minutes of runtime, and supports a self-emptying dock coming in 2026. The V8 Cyclone also introduces a triggerless power button and three cleaning modes. Importantly, existing V8 owners can use their current attachments, while new buyers will have access to a wide tool set.

Dyson Clean+Wash Hygiene – A Filter-Free Wet Cleaner

The Dyson Clean+Wash Hygiene is a cordless hard-floor cleaner designed to vacuum debris and wash floors simultaneously using a filter-free system that prevents bacteria buildup, odors, and clogging while maintaining consistent performance. It uses an ultra-absorbent hybrid microfiber roller with 84,000 filaments per cm² and 1,400 embedded nylon bristles, spinning at 250 RPM to capture dust, hair, and debris while removing wet spills and stains in one pass. A 12-point hydration system continuously delivers fresh water to the roller, while a self-cleaning extraction mechanism with an anti-tangle comb removes dirty water and hair during operation to maintain hygiene and prevent wrap. The machine features three-sided edge cleaning for cleaning along walls and baseboards and a low-profile design that lies flat to 4.4 inches to reach under furniture. Additional specs include 45 minutes of runtime, coverage up to about 3,770 sq ft per fill, four hydration levels including Boost mode, and a self-cleaning dock that washes the system and dries the roller with 185°F hot air in about 30 minutes.

Dyson also introduced the Clean+Wash Hygiene, a lightweight wet and dry cleaner designed to eliminate common hygiene issues with traditional floor washers. Instead of circulating dirty water through pipes and filters, the roller is continuously refreshed with clean water while waste is contained separately. Dyson claims this system prevents odors, clogging, and suction loss. Weighing just 3.8kg, it’s compact and easy to maneuver under furniture.

Dyson Spot+Scrub™ Ai – Robotic Floor Cleaning with Stain Detection

The Dyson Spot+Scrub Ai is Dyson’s first wet-and-dry robot vacuum, designed to vacuum carpets and actively wash hard floors using an AI-driven stain-removal system. It features AI-powered stain detection using a high-resolution camera with green illumination, capable of recognizing 100 types of objects and substances and automatically performing up to 15 focused cleaning passes until stains are removed. Navigation combines embedded DToF LiDAR and AI vision mapping to generate room maps, label zones, and avoid obstacles like cables or socks through the MyDyson™ app. For mopping, the robot uses a 10.6-inch self-cleaning microfiber wet roller with a 12-point hydration system that delivers heated water while cleaning and self-washing on every rotation, with an edge-extending roller that reaches 1.6 inches to clean along baseboards. The system includes a bagless cyclonic auto-empty dock with 10 Dyson root cyclones capable of storing debris for up to 100 days, plus 0.6-gal clean-water and 0.55-gal dirty-water tanks, 18 kPa suction, filtration capturing particles down to 0.1 microns, and automatic detergent dosing (0.3 oz per tank fill). Additional specs include 10.4mm carpet lift, 3-hour charge time, and heated mop washing at 140°F with 113°F hot-air drying.
