Update – August 13, 2025
We’ve published a follow-up with recurring issues and solutions for certain Ecovacs robot vacuums, including the T80. Read our Ecovacs X9 Pro Omni Robot Vacuum Problems (and Fixes) for the latest details.
The Ecovacs T80 Omni is the first T‑Series robot to inherit the company’s flagship OZMO roller‑mop system, previously reserved for the premium X‑Series. With a multifunctional dock and a price that’s a few hundred dollars below the X9 Pro Omni, the T80 promises near‑flagship automation for less money. In this Ecovacs T80 Omni review, we share how it performed after purchasing our own unit and putting it through weeks of evaluations here at Vacuum Wars.
UPDATE JUNE 2025: Congratulations to the Ecovacs T80 Omni for winning our Best Robot Vacuum Runner Up Award for Mid-2025!

The Ecovacs T80 Omni was named Mid-2025 Runner-up Best Robot Vacuum thanks to flagship-grade features at a more accessible price. Its OZMO Roller system spins at 200 RPM with 16× more pressure and real-time rinsing for streak-free mopping, while TruEdge tech extends the mop for spotless corners. An 18,000 Pa brushless motor and ZeroTangle 3.0 brushes tackle pet hair and debris on both rugs and hard floors, and AIVI 3D 3.0 with LiDAR precisely identifies over 100 objects to navigate your home intelligently. The auto-sensing LED headlight improves visibility under furniture, and the slim chassis slips into tight spaces. Its upgraded OMNI Station washes mop pads with 167 °F water, dries them at 113 °F, empties the bin, refills water, and even re-mops automatically—all controllable via Matter-compatible voice assistants. Though it lost a few points for occasional test-area stalls, the T80 Omni’s comprehensive dock and powerful performance make it a standout runner-up. See additional info

Ecovacs T80 Omni – Design & Dock Overview
The T80 is a vacuum‑and‑mop combo paired with a full-featured “Omni” base that automatically empties debris, washes the roller mop with hot water, and finishes with hot‑air drying. The dock also self‑cleans via eight spray nozzles and houses a 3‑liter disposable bag.

The robot itself relies on embedded LiDAR, an RGB camera, and 3‑D structured light for mapping and obstacle detection.

Ecovacs T80 Omni Pros
OZMO Roller‑Mop Results
The OZMO roller mop continuously wets the roller with clean water, squeezes dirty water out, and extends for edge coverage. In our dried‑on stain evaluation, the T80 scored 139.5 points, well above the 93‑point average, and only slightly below the brand’s flagship, the Deebot X9 Omni Pro (see full review).
Water‑residue measurements were also excellent, leaving far less moisture than most competitors.
Combined mop scores yield a total score of 287‑point, far and away above the average.
| Mop Metric | T80 Omni | X9 Pro Omni | Category Average |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dried‑Stain Score | 139.5 | 158 | 93 |
| Water Left Behind | 0.3 grams | 0.25 grams | 1.01 grams |
| Combined Mop Score | 287 | 317 | 171 |

Vacuum Suction & Airflow
Ecovacs’ Blast motor tech helped the T80 produce nearly three times the average suction on our bench evaluations, with airflow double the category norms. In the deep‑carpet sand assessment, the T80—and the pricier X9—each removed 89 % of embedded grit (average 75 %).

Pet‑Hair & Anti‑Tangle
On flattened 2.5‑inch pet hair, the T80 lifted 99 % of strands, making it more effective than the X9. Its V‑shaped bristle roller and internal comb prevented hair in our 7‑inch hair evaluation from wrapping around the brush for 0 % tangles versus a 38 % average.

Ecovacs T80 Omni Smart Mapping & Obstacle Avoidance
The T80’s LED‑assisted RGB camera and 3‑D structured light recognized and dodged 11 of 12 items in our standard course—two better than the X9. In the tougher torture course, however, it avoided 7 of 12 items (X9 managed 10 of 12). The result is solid, but not flawless, obstacle avoidance.

Ecovacs T80 Omni Battery & Maintenance
One charge of the T80’s battery covers an estimate of about 1,200 ft², compared with the X9’s estimated coverage of 875 ft². The recharge‑and‑resume feature with fast charging also minimizes downtime.
The dustbin sizes and hot water mop-cleaning in the dock also make for reasonably hands-off maintenance while the robot is continually collecting debris and managing dirty mop water during cleaning sessions.
| Spec | T80 Omni | X9 Pro Omni |
|---|---|---|
| Estimated Coverage / Charge | ≈ 1,200 ft² | 875 ft² |
| Dock Bag Size | 3 L | 3 L |
| Hot‑Water Temperatures | 3 levels | 3 levels |

Ecovacs T80 Omni App Experience
Ecovacs’ companion app lets users split or merge rooms, drop no‑go/no‑mop zones, schedule cleans, and tweak dock behaviors. Multi‑level maps, 3‑D floor plan views, and live video monitoring are included, and the built‑in YIKO voice assistant handles basic commands without Alexa or Google. Automatic detergent dispensing remains exclusive to the X‑Series.

Ecovacs T80 Omni Cons
During evaluations, we ran into a handful of drawbacks.
First—and most serious—the T80 experienced repeating “stuck” behavior. Three times it froze in place, once under a coffee table, twice while pressed against dining‑table legs . Each time this happened, it declared itself unable to continue for no reason that we could detect. We eventually had to put no-go zones around the table so that it could finish the run.

Because user reviews don’t seem to be reporting the same issue so far, we’ve chalked it up to a firmware glitch for now or possibly even user error, but we still had to deduct several points and will keep an eye out for future updates.
It also posted a below‑average score in our crevice pickup evaluation, leaving more debris in floor cracks than we’d like.

Compared with Ecovacs’ flagship Deebot X9 Pro Omni, a few niceties are missing as well. There’s no built‑in detergent dispenser, no extending side brush, and the obstacle avoidance is a touch less effective.
Finally, at 3.8 inches tall, the robot can’t squeeze beneath the ultra‑low furniture that some slimmer competitors can reach.
Verdict – Is the Ecovacs T80 Omni Worth It?
With a Vacuum Wars score of 4.45, the Ecovacs Deebot T80 Omni won the Runner-Up spot for Best Robot Vacuum in our Mid-2025 Awards! It delivers nearly all the X9 Pro’s cleaning prowess for less money, ranking #2 on our Top 20 list at the time of evaluation, despite the demerits for getting stuck during assessment. We hope this can be fixed with a firmware update, or even that it might have been a fluke in the model we purchased.
