Design and Features

The Qrevo Curv gets its name from its new auto-empty bin design, which features rounded edges that enhance both functionality and aesthetics. This robot vacuum mop combo currently comes in a sleek white color.

A standout feature is the “Revo” aspect of its name, referring to the spinning mop pads—a significant departure from previous models like the Roborock S8, which utilized fixed vibrating mop pads. This innovative design significantly enhances its mopping efficiency and effectiveness.

Pros of the Roborock Qrevo Curv

Vacuuming Performance

The Qrevo Curv is equipped with a newly designed DuoDivide main brush. And it consists of two separate brushes with a space in the center, specifically engineered to resist hair tangles. Additionally, it features a new side brush designed to further reduce tangles. In our evaluations, this new brush design outperformed previous versions in multiple ways.

Tackling Tangles

In our pet hair tangle test, which is still under development, the Qrevo Curv achieved a perfect score with zero hair tangles—a rare accomplishment among robot vacuums. This performance is tied for first place and showcases its superior design in handling pet hair. The improved brush design also enhances its ability to deep clean carpets.

Carpet Deep Cleaning

In our carpet deep clean evaluation, where we assess how effectively it picks up deeply embedded sand in medium carpet, it scored an impressive 86. This score ties it for sixth place out of over 100 robot vacuums evaluated, outperforming previous top-of-the-line models like the Qrevo Master and the current flagship Roborock S8 MaxV.

Pet Hair on Carpet

In another evaluation we’re developing, we evaluate how well robots pick up 2.5-inch flattened pet hair on carpet. The Qrevo Curv outperformed both Qrevo models and the S8 MaxV in this category. While these evaluations are still in development and should be taken with a grain of salt, they indicate promising performance.

FlexiArm Side Brush

The Qrevo Curv also features the new auto-extending FlexiArm side brush, first introduced on the S8 MaxV. This feature effectively sweeps debris from corners, a task that most robot vacuum side brushes struggle with. In terms of debris pickup, it performed exceptionally well on both hard floors and carpets, collecting everything from fine dust to extra-large debris.

Mopping Ability

As a robot vacuum mop combo, the Qrevo Curv excels with its advanced capabilities. It utilizes two spinning mop pads with electronically controlled and adjustable water dispensing. The mop pads automatically lift to avoid wetting carpets, allowing it to vacuum carpets before mopping hard floors if desired. This feature unlocks the ability to vacuum and mop homes with a mixture of hard floors and carpets in a single run, a game-changing advancement introduced fairly recently.

It also includes another Flexi Arm for extending one of its mop pads to improve edge mopping. In our performance evaluations, the Qrevo Curv averaged a score of 104 on our new dried-on stain assessment. For context, the Bissell CrossWave Pet Pro electronic mop performed significantly worse on the same evaluation, highlighting the Qrevo Curv’s superior mopping capabilities.

Multi-Functional Dock

To fully appreciate the Curv’s mopping features, we must discuss its new multi-functional dock. This dock not only empties the robot’s dustbin into a disposable bag but also automatically washes the robot’s mop pads with 167-degree water, dries the mop pads with warm air, and refills the mop tanks—including mixing the included mopping solution.

It boasts premium features like a sensor in the dirty water line that detects if the mop water is still dirty and, if so, initiates additional mop pad washings. It also has a self-cleaning base, a somewhat rare feature, where it cleans the actual base using motors and squeegees. For deep cleaning, you can still remove the tray.

The Qrevo Curv’s navigation is another significant pro. It uses LiDAR technology to map and navigate your home, completing the mapping of our floor plan in about five minutes. Its navigation efficiency and coverage are extraordinary. For example, it efficiently vacuumed and mopped our 35-square-meter test area in just 45 minutes, which is much faster than average.

An innovative feature is its Adapt Lift Chassis, which is essentially a motorized front wheel that extends to allow it to cross thresholds that were previously impossible for robot vacuums to handle. It can cross thresholds up to 30 mm, or up to 40 mm if the threshold is tiered. In our tests with a 25 mm threshold, it initially struggled but succeeded once we specified the threshold location in the app. The robot pre-planned its approach and made a running start when it recognized the obstacle, a feature that opens up opportunities for people who couldn’t use robot vacuums before due to threshold issues.

While it comes with a higher price tag, its capabilities make it a worthwhile investment for those seeking top-tier cleaning technology. We highly recommend the Roborock Qrevo Curv for anyone looking to elevate their home cleaning experience. Its blend of cutting-edge technology and practical features makes it a standout choice in a crowded market.

In terms of obstacle avoidance, the Qrevo Curv uses front-mounted 3D structured light and an RGB camera, along with an LED light for illuminating dark areas. It performed reasonably well in our tests—not perfect, but comparable to other top-of-the-line Roborock products. While it lacks infrared crossed lasers that could enhance its performance, it still offers solid obstacle avoidance capabilities.

Battery Life and Efficiency

The Q Revo Curv boasts impressive battery life and efficiency. Roborock claims it can run for up to 240 minutes on low power, and our evaluations confirmed its exceptional performance. When we ran it on all its power settings, it ranked third overall in average battery efficiency. Calculations indicate that its hypothetical square foot coverage per charge is the highest we’ve ever seen, though this number will vary depending on individual usage.

Battery efficiency and range comparison showing Roborock QRevo Curv ranking 3rd in efficiency (2.11 min per %) and 1st in area coverage (1936 sf per charge), outperforming the average.

App Features

Roborock’s app is arguably the best in the industry right now, being both user-friendly and offering a massive amount of control over the robot’s behaviors. You can adjust settings like bin empty frequency, mopping configurations, virtual barriers, and mop along floor direction. The app provides extensive scheduling options and includes pet-related features such as video calling with your pets and locating them within your home. It also features the “Hello Rocky” virtual assistant. The app has above-average ratings on both the iOS App Store and Google Play Store, reflecting its reliability and user satisfaction.

Cons of the Roborock Qrevo Curv

    Bench Evaluations

While the Qrevo Curv excels in many areas, there are a few downsides to consider. In our bench evaluations, its results were about average. For instance, its airflow measurements were right at the average mark. Its crevice pickup and suction results were slightly below average but were consistent with other Roborock models. Importantly, these results didn’t seem to affect its real-world performance in any noticeable way.

    Side Brush Design

Another issue is related to its new side brush design. While it worked exceptionally well in resisting pet hair tangles, in our extreme torture tests—where we subject the robot to large amounts of debris on hard floors—it tended to spread debris to the side before picking it up. In typical household scenarios with normal debris levels, this shouldn’t be a problem, but it’s worth mentioning.

    Price Point

The price could also be considered a con. The Qrevo Curv is certainly an expensive investment. However, when compared to other flagship robot vacuums on the market, it offers better value for its advanced features and performance, especially considering its high ranking on our list.

    Conclusion

After tallying up all the scores, the Roborock Qrevo Curv has indeed claimed the number one spot on the Vacuum Wars Top 20 list, dethroning the Qrevo Master, which held the position for several weeks. With its innovative features, exceptional cleaning performance, and user-friendly app, the Qrevo Curv sets a new standard for robot vacuum mop combos.
