The Little Green Mini Cordless follows the same basic cleaning process as most portable carpet cleaners. You fill the clean-water tank with water and the appropriate amount of cleaning solution. A trigger on the handle sprays the mixture onto the stained area, where it is allowed to sit briefly before being scrubbed and extracted into the dirty-water tank.
After cleaning, the dirty tank must be emptied. Bissell also includes its HydroRinse self-cleaning hose tool, which allows clean water to be drawn through the hose before storage.
The machine comes with a 4-inch Tough Stain Tool, the HydroRinse tool, and an 8-ounce bottle of Bissell Little Green Formula. The Tough Stain Tool worked well during our evaluations. The trigger, spray pattern, scrubbing surface, and extraction opening all behaved as expected, without unusual leaking or control problems.
The attachment package is limited, but it fits the machine’s purpose. This is designed to be a simple, compact cleaner rather than a large system with numerous specialized tools.
Lightweight and Easy to Carry
Portability is one of the Mini Cordless’s strongest advantages. It weighs approximately 6.1 pounds, compared with the 9.6-pound average among the portable spot cleaners in our database. That makes it roughly 36% lighter than average. The difference is noticeable when carrying it between rooms, moving it up stairs, or taking it outside to clean a car.
Its low weight also makes it easier to grab quickly when a spill happens. That matters because a spot cleaner is most useful when retrieving and setting it up does not feel like a project of its own.

Stain-Removal Performance
The most important result came from our stain-reduction evaluation. For this test, we allow a measured amount of grape juice to dry completely on white carpet. We then apply the manufacturer’s cleaning solution at the recommended dilution for exactly 10 seconds.
After allowing the solution to sit for five minutes, we scrub the stain vigorously for one minute. We use a colorimeter to measure the perceptual lightness of the carpet before and after cleaning and calculate a score based on the reduction in the visible stain.
The Bissell Little Green Mini Cordless earned a stain-reduction score of 160. The average score among the spot cleaners in our database is approximately 145, placing the Mini Cordless well above average. That is an impressive outcome for a machine that is also one of the least expensive products in our Top 5.
More importantly, it shows that suction measurements do not tell the entire cleaning story. Stain removal depends on the complete system, including solution application, dwell time, agitation, tool design, and liquid recovery.
The Mini Cordless performed well enough across those areas to produce a strong visible result, despite having lower suction than most corded models.
Suction and the Cordless Tradeoff
Raw suction is the Mini Cordless’s clearest performance limitation. We measured 31.8 inches of water lift at the hose, compared with an average of approximately 54 inches among the portable spot cleaners we have tested.
Its internal suction and amperage measurements were also modest compared with those of corded machines.
This was not unexpected. Portable carpet cleaners need considerable energy to move air and recover liquid from carpet or upholstery. A battery-powered machine must balance suction against runtime, weight, heat, size, and cost.
Corded machines can draw continuous power from an outlet. The Mini Cordless cannot produce the same level of sustained extraction while remaining small and easy to carry. Lower suction can affect how much moisture is recovered and may require additional dry passes over the cleaned area. Stronger extraction can also help carpeting and upholstery dry more quickly.
However, the Mini Cordless still produced a stain-reduction score of 160, well above the category average. That result does not mean suction is unimportant. It does mean that higher suction does not automatically guarantee a better-looking result once the carpet has dried.
For small, targeted stains, the Mini Cordless’s cleaning system was effective enough to overcome its lower power. For larger or repeated jobs, the advantages of a stronger corded machine become more significant.
The Mini Cordless makes the most sense for people who use a portable carpet cleaner for isolated spills rather than large cleaning projects. It is particularly well suited to apartments and smaller homes because it is lightweight, easy to store, and quick to retrieve.

The clean-water tank holds 16 ounces, which is substantially smaller than the approximately 49-ounce average in our database. For a single spill, vehicle seat, dining chair, or small carpeted area, that capacity may be sufficient. The smaller tank also helps keep the machine light when filled.
The limitation becomes apparent during larger jobs. Cleaning multiple stains, an entire sofa, or numerous stairs may require stopping to refill the tank.
Bissell says its BatteryBoost+ Technology can provide up to 20 minutes of runtime by increasing power primarily when the tool is engaged with a surface. We are presenting that as Bissell’s claim rather than one of our measured results. Twenty minutes should be adequate for the type of short cleaning jobs this machine is intended to handle. It is less suitable for extended sessions involving numerous rooms or large upholstered surfaces.
Both the tank capacity and battery runtime reinforce the same point: the Mini Cordless is optimized for quick, focused cleanup rather than whole-home carpet cleaning.
