CPSC Safety Alert Issued for INSE Stick Vacuums Due to Battery Fire Risk

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued an immediate safety warning urging consumers to stop using INSE Cordless Stick Vacuums models S6P Pro and S6T. The products pose significant fire and burn hazards, with serious risks of injury or death.

Identifying the Defective Models

The affected cordless vacuum models are identified as:

  • INSE S6P Pro
  • INSE S6T

These vacuums are metal with blue and black plastic components, and the brand “insé” is printed prominently on the body. Model numbers can be found on silver stickers underneath either the lithium-ion battery pack or the brush head.

The vacuum is blue with silver accents, with 'inse' on the top of the motor encasement.

Reported Incidents

The CPSC has received at least 23 reports involving these vacuum models overheating, igniting, melting, or smoking. Among these incidents, there are at least 10 documented fires, underscoring the severity of the hazard.

Consumers must immediately discontinue using these vacuum cleaners and safely dispose of them. Given the hazardous nature of lithium-ion batteries, proper disposal at local hazardous waste or recycling centers is required. Consumers are advised against disposing of these items in household trash or standard battery recycling facilities.

Background on Product and Availability

These vacuums were available on Amazon.com from May 2020 through January 2025, retailing for approximately $170. Attempts by CPSC to coordinate a recall have been unsuccessful due to non-responsiveness from manufacturers Shandongchongtaixiangmuguanliyouxiangongsi and YICHANGHAIJINKEJIYOUXIANGONGSI, and importer Shenzhen Ainuo Home Furnishings Co. Ltd.
