Shark CarpetForce

According to Shark, the CarpetForce series was developed to address common complaints associated with traditional carpet cleaners, including bulky designs and the effort often required to move and store them. The company says the new models combine deep-cleaning performance with a more compact footprint intended for everyday carpet maintenance.

Shark CarpetForce Models Focus on Lightweight Carpet Cleaning
The new CarpetForce lineup features Shark’s PowerFins brushroll technology, which the company says maintains continuous contact with carpet fibers to help loosen and extract dirt, debris, and hair. Both models also include two cleaning modes designed for different carpet-cleaning needs. Deep Clean Mode is intended for more intensive cleaning, while Express Clean Mode is designed to refresh carpets with reduced drying time.

A few of the features highlighted by Shark include:
- Deep Clean and Express Clean cleaning modes
- PowerFins brushroll technology
- Compact upright design with removable wand
- Faster-drying Express Clean Mode
- Lightweight construction designed for easier maneuverability

Shark highlights the compact design of the CarpetForce platform, including a removable wand intended to make storage and handling more convenient in homes with limited storage space. Both models are listed by Shark at 15.21 pounds, reflecting the company’s continued focus on lightweight carpet cleaning systems. For context, Vacuum Wars has previously measured the Shark CarpetXpert EX151 (see our review) at 14.5 pounds and the Shark CarpetXpert HairPro EX301 (see our review) at 18.8 pounds.

CarpetForce HairPro Adds Pet Hair Cleaning Features
The Shark CarpetForce HairPro EX551 builds on the standard CarpetForce platform by adding Shark’s HairPro technology, which the company says is engineered to improve pet hair pickup while reducing clogs, clumps, and hair wrap.

While the CarpetForce series is new, Shark’s HairPro technology may already be familiar to consumers who have followed the company’s recent carpet-cleaning products. HairPro previously appeared in products such as the Shark CarpetXpert HairPro EX301 and Shark StainStriker HairPro spot cleaner (see our review), both of which have been reviewed by Vacuum Wars. Those products generally performed well in our testing, although Vacuum Wars has not yet evaluated the new CarpetForce models.
