3i G10+ Robot Vacuum Takes a Different Approach to Dustbin Design

3i has expanded its robot vacuum lineup with the launch of the G10+ robot vacuum and mop combo, a feature-rich model that was previewed at CES 2025. The G10+ combines advanced navigation, object recognition, and customizable cleaning options. While it lacks an auto-empty docking station, the G10+ features onboard internal debris compression, enabling it to hold up to 60 days’ worth of dirt in a 1-liter bagless dustbin.

With a claimed 18,000Pa of suction, intelligent carpet detection, and pet-friendly features, the G10+ is designed for both hard floors and carpeting. Additional highlights include a retractable mop, corner-reaching side brush, and an app-based control system for detailed mapping and scheduling.

Long-Lasting Debris Management with Built-In Compression

Instead of using a traditional auto-empty docking station, the G10+ features an internal debris compression system. It carries a 1-liter dustbin onboard, which the company claims can hold up to 60 days’ worth of debris thanks to an integrated compactor. The system includes a UV light to help maintain hygienic bin conditions and does not require disposable dust bags.

3i G10 Plus UltraReach

Floor Cleaning and Edge Performance

The G10+ is designed to clean both hard floors and carpets. It includes a self-adjusting mop that retracts as needed to avoid rugs or obstacles. The vacuum also features an UltraReach™ side brush that extends to sweep debris from corners and along edges.

The G10+ uses ApexVision™ dToF LIDAR for navigation and obstacle detection. This system allows the robot to map homes in real time, even in low-light conditions. According to 3i, the G10+ can identify over 128 types of household objects and has a visual range of up to 12 meters (39 feet).

AI Dirt Recognition

Equipped with an onboard camera, LED lighting, and AI-powered DirtScan™ technology, the G10+ is able to detect various types of debris—such as dry particles, wet messes, or pet waste—and adjust its cleaning strategy accordingly. For example, it increases suction for solids and switches to a more intensive mopping pattern for sticky residues.

Cleaning Modes and Smart App Features

The vacuum supports several user-selectable modes:

  • Clean Carpets First: Prioritizes carpets before other surfaces.
  • Carpet Avoidance: Skips carpets entirely, especially those with longer fibers.
  • Carpet Boost: Lifts the mop and increases suction for carpet cleaning.
  • Secondary Carpet Cleaning: Performs a second pass over carpeted areas.

A companion smartphone app provides remote control and customization options. Users can create a 3D map of their home, set schedules, define no-go zones, and select from cleaning options such as Sweep & Mop, Sweep Only, or AI Auto mode.

Voice Control and Pet-Friendly Features

The G10+ is compatible with voice assistants like Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. Users can initiate cleaning routines by voice, including room-specific commands.

For pet owners, the vacuum includes:

  • Pet Avoidance Mode: Prevents close contact with pets.
  • Real-Time Monitoring: Use the app to check in via the onboard camera.
  • Automatic Pet Photos: Captures images of pets during cleaning sessions.
  • Enhanced Pet Area Cleaning: Recognizes pet zones and increases suction power accordingly.
