At IFA 2026 in Berlin, we got our first look at Dreame’s latest push into heat-powered robotic floor care. The Dreame Aqua20 Pro Ultra Roller X Complete is the company’s first robot vacuum to combine steam pretreatment with a roller mop.
The Aqua20 combines fresh-water roller mopping, high-temperature dock maintenance, extending cleaning hardware, and upgraded threshold climbing in one of Dreame’s most ambitious robot vacuum designs yet.
Dreame Aqua20 adds steam to a roller-mop robot vacuum
The Aqua20 Pro Ultra Roller X Complete uses an internal system that Dreame says produces steam at a core temperature of 180°C. Four outlets apply the steam as a pretreatment to loosen dried-on stains before the robot follows with hot-water mopping.
Dreame reports a 99.999% bacteria-removal rate for this process, based on third-party testing by SGS. That is a manufacturer-supplied result rather than a Vacuum Wars test, and real-world performance will depend on the surface, mess, cleaning mode, and other conditions.
The robot’s AquaRoll system continuously supplies fresh water to the roller mop. According to Dreame, the roller spins at 300 rpm and applies 18 newtons of downward pressure. Its MopExtend mechanism can also move the roller outward by up to 8 centimeters to reach farther beneath cabinet edges, around furniture, and into recessed areas.
High suction and upgraded threshold clearance
Dreame lists a maximum suction rating of 40,000 Pa for the Aqua20. The robot uses the company’s HyperStream Detangling DuoBrush 2.0, which combines a bristled brush for crevices with a softer TPU rubber brush intended to handle larger debris and carpet cleaning.
For moving between rooms, Dreame says its upgraded ProLeap system can clear single-step obstacles up to 5 centimeters and two-step obstacles up to 10 centimeters. Those are unusually large manufacturer claims for a robot vacuum, and they are among the specifications we would want to evaluate on a production unit.
The Aqua20 also uses AutoSeal Guard to cover the wet roller when it detects carpet. Its TripleUp system can lift the side brush, main brush, and mop independently to help prevent wet and dry debris from mixing.
AI obstacle avoidance and a 100°C dock wash
Navigation combines Dreame’s AstroVision camera system, VersaLift navigation, and OmniSight 4.0. Dreame says the robot can recognize more than 320 object types, detect obstacles as small as 10 millimeters, and adjust its route around moving objects. As with the cleaning figures, these are company claims that have not yet been verified in Vacuum Wars evaluations.
After a cleaning run, the dock can wash the roller mop with water heated to 100°C. Dreame says the system waits for the washboard to cool to a safer temperature before the next cleaning begins.

Availability
Dreame says the Aqua20 Pro Ultra Roller X Complete will be available soon in the United Kingdom. The company did not announce U.S. pricing or availability in its IFA 2026 release.

What stands out from IFA 2026
The Aqua20 brings together several trends we have been tracking across premium robot vacuums: fresh-water roller mopping, hotter dock maintenance, extending cleaning hardware, active threshold climbing, and more ambitious object recognition. Adding steam pretreatment makes this one of Dreame’s most technically aggressive robot vacuum designs yet.
The major question is how well these systems work together in an everyday home, particularly when handling dried stains, carpets, thresholds, and common household obstacles. We will need to evaluate a retail version in our studio before drawing conclusions about its real-world performance.
