Aipoway Cordless Vacuum vs. Dyson Gen5outsize: An Interesting New Entry With a Surprisingly Large Dust Bin

Cordless vacuums continue to evolve quickly, and every so often a lesser-known brand releases a model with features that stand out on paper. One recent example is the Aipoway Fame Z cordless stick vacuum cleaner, a product that gained our attention for its unusually large dust-bin capacity and long listed runtime. Although Vacuum Wars has not purchased or tested this model, its specifications invite comparison to one of the most capable big-bin cordless vacuums on the market today: the Dyson Gen5outsize.

Below, we break down the key similarities and differences between the two, focusing only on published specifications and publicly available information.

Dust-Bin Capacity: Larger Than the Dyson Gen5outsize

The most eye-catching feature of the Aipoway cordless vacuum is its dust-bin size. The manufacturer lists a 2.0-liter dust cup, making it one of the largest capacities we have ever seen on a cordless stick vacuum.

For comparison, the Dyson Gen5outsize (See our full review) advertises a 1.9-liter bin, already considered oversized by cordless vacuum standards. If the listed number is accurate, the Aipoway Fame Z slightly surpasses even Dyson’s largest bin, which could reduce the number of trips to the trash during whole-home cleaning.

Large-bin cordless vacuums typically appeal to households with pets, high-traffic spaces, or larger homes—situations where vacuums tend to fill quickly. While we have not tested the Fame Z to verify its true usable capacity, its claimed size is notable in an industry where most cordless vacuums range from 0.5 to 1.0 liters.

Power and Suction: Different Approaches

Dyson has a long engineering track record, and the Gen5outsize uses Dyson’s latest high-speed motor and cyclone technology. In our original review, we noted its strong suction, good airflow, and excellent deep-cleaning performance on carpets.

The Aipoway, in contrast, lists a 600-watt brushless motor and a maximum suction rating of 55 kPa, which is unusually high for a cordless vacuum. It’s important to note that these are vendor-provided specifications, and we cannot confirm how they translate into real-world performance. Actual suction, airflow, and debris pickup can vary based on cyclone design, bin separation efficiency, brushroll quality, and general airflow engineering.

Still, on paper, the Aipoway Fame Z aims to compete with higher-end cordless models by offering strong suction in its top power mode.

Auto-Adjust Features Without a Particle Counter

Dyson’s flagship cordless vacuums now include a particle counter that detects debris size and quantity, automatically adjusting suction when needed. The Gen5outsize uses this sensor to optimize power efficiency while maximizing pickup performance.

The Aipoway Fame Z does not include a particle counter. However, it does feature an auto-adjust suction mode based on detected debris load. The manufacturer describes this as a smart mode that changes power in response to cleaning conditions. While the mechanism behind this feature is not fully explained, the intent is similar: provide more suction when needed and conserve battery power during lighter cleaning.

This is one of the more interesting aspects of the product, as auto-adjust systems are becoming increasingly common in mid- to high-end cordless vacuums.

Weight and Handling

At 8.6 pounds, the Dyson Gen5outsize is known for being heavier than typical cordless vacuums due to its large bin and powerful motor. The Aipoway listing claims a 6-pound total weight, which would make it noticeably lighter than the Gen5outsize.

Runtime and Battery System

Aipoway advertises a 75-minute maximum runtime and includes a removable battery. Actual runtime will vary depending on suction level and flooring type, but having a removable battery is a convenience feature that many users appreciate.

Dyson’s Gen5outsize also includes a removable, click-in battery and advertises up to 70 minutes of runtime. It earned second place for battery efficiency in our 2025 Best Cordless Vacuum Battery Life Award, ranking just behind the Dyson Gen5Detect. The Gen5Detect is not an Outsize-style large-body model, so it is inherently more capable of achieving extended runtimes—making the Gen5outsize’s performance especially notable for its size at the time.

Despite its large frame, the Gen5outsize is known for delivering strong suction and airflow even late in the battery cycle, helping it maintain consistent performance throughout a cleaning session. Like the Aipoway, it is designed for whole-home cleaning and longer cleaning runs.

Filtration and Dust Management

Both vacuums claim HEPA-level filtration, a feature that is increasingly expected in this category. Dyson is well-known for excellent sealed systems that maintain suction and capture fine dust effectively. The Aipoway includes HEPA filtration elements and a multi-stage filtration layout, though sealing and real-world efficiency remain unverified.

Attachments and Design Differences

Dyson includes a wide range of attachments with the Gen5outsize, including specialized floorheads and detail tools.
The Aipoway Fame Z includes several accessories as well—such as a floor head, crevice tool, and combination brushes. Other smaller differences between the two vacuum designs include:

  • Different brushroll and floorhead engineering
  • Different LED displays and user interfaces
  • Differences in the cyclone layout and dust-bin shape
  • Differences in noise levels, durability, and long-term maintenance needs

Final Thoughts: An Intriguing Large-Bin Cordless Vacuum

While we have not yet purchased or tested the Aipoway Fame Z cordless stick vacuum, its specifications make it an interesting entry into the oversized cordless vacuum category. With a listed 2-liter dust bin, high suction claims, a brushless motor, auto-adjust cleaning, and a lightweight design, it presents an appealing set of features on paper—especially when compared to the well-known Dyson Gen5outsize.

How well it performs in real-world use, how durable it is, and whether its suction and filtration match the numbers are questions that only hands-on testing can answer. Still, it’s a noteworthy example of how quickly new brands are experimenting with features traditionally associated with premium cordless vacuums.
