Bissell Brings HEPA Filtration to CleanView Max Line with New Allergen Model

Bissell has introduced a new model to its CleanView lineup of upright vacuums, the CleanView Max Allergen, adding a key feature not previously seen in this series: a sealed system with HEPA filtration.

The CleanView Max line was expanded late last year with models like the CleanView Max and CleanView Max Rewind, which focused on features such as tangle-free brush rolls, swivel steering, and optional cord rewind. The new Allergen version builds on that foundation while targeting a different priority—improved dust and dander containment.

A Notable Addition: HEPA Filtration

According to Bissell, the CleanView Max Allergen includes a “MicroCapture Sealed Allergen System with HEPA filtration,” designed to capture and retain 99.97% of dust and dander particles. This is the primary differentiator from other models in the CleanView Max lineup, which do not include HEPA filtration.

While HEPA systems are common in Bissell’s higher-priced vacuum categories, such as the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Allergen Lift-Off 39883 (see our full review) their inclusion in a model priced under $180 positions this release as a more budget-accessible option for users specifically concerned with allergens.

Position Within the CleanView Max Line

Aside from the addition of HEPA filtration, the CleanView Max Allergen shares many of the same core features found in the rest of the lineup. The model does not include cord rewind functionality, which remains exclusive to the CleanView Max Rewind variant.

Focus on Pet Households

Bissell is positioning the CleanView Max Allergen as part of its “Pet Proven” category, emphasizing its ability to handle pet hair while also addressing airborne allergens. The combination of a sealed system and HEPA filtration is intended to reduce the amount of dust and dander released back into the air during operation.

In a press release, Aleta Chase, Vice President of Global Dry Cleaning Systems at Bissell, said:
“We’re proud to bring Pet Proven performance to more pet owners than ever before. The CleanView Max Allergen delivers the dust and dander allergen capture, tangle-free pickup, and whole-home cleaning tools that today’s pet parents expect — proof that powerful pet performance and unbeatable value can go hand in hand.”

Other features highlighted by the company include a tangle-free brush roll to reduce hair wrap and an extension wand capable of reaching up to 12 feet for above-floor cleaning.

Bottom Line

The CleanView Max Allergen doesn’t significantly change the core design of the CleanView Max platform, but it introduces a meaningful upgrade for users prioritizing air quality. By adding HEPA filtration at a lower price point, Bissell is expanding the appeal of the lineup without moving it into a higher price category.
