Dreame CyberX Robot Vacuum with Stair-Climbing Tech Unveiled at IFA 2025

Dreame has introduced the CyberX at IFA 2025 in Berlin, aiming to make it the first consumer robot vacuum to successfully climb stairs. For years, robot vacuums have had limited mobility in multi-floor homes. Most robotic vacuum development focuses on improving navigation, suction, and mopping. But with CyberX, Dreame aims to solve the stair-climbing issue (one of the industry’s biggest challenges), so robot vacuums can handle multi-level cleaning without human help.

Dreame CyberX Can Climb Stairs Up to 25 cm (9.8 in)

The CyberX climbs stairs up to 25 centimeters (about 9.8 inches), a height far beyond what any other robot vacuum can manage. Thick-treaded wheels give the robot traction, while a triple braking protection system keeps it from slipping backward.

A large screen at Dreame’s IFA 2025 booth shows a close-up of the CyberX tread and the words “Triple Braking Protection System,” while attendees gather below the display.

Dreame added a Smart 3D Adapt visual system, which scans and evaluates stairs before the robot moves forward. This visual analysis reduces the risk of missteps and helps CyberX assess unsafe climbs.

CyberX in Action at IFA 2025

Industry First: From Threshold Climbing to Stair Navigation

Since CES 2025, Dreame has focused on advancing threshold-climbing technology. The company first introduced robots capable of crossing 6 cm barriers, later pushing that to 8 cm with the Aqua10 Ultra Roller (see our full review). Building on those gains, the new CyberX extends the concept from thresholds to full stair navigation, setting a fresh benchmark for robotic cleaning.

Three Dreame robot vacuums demonstrate increasing climbing ability, labeled 6 cm, 8 cm, and 25 cm, with the 25 cm CyberX using extended tracks to scale a much taller obstacle.

Battery Life and Multi-Floor Coverage

A 6400 mAh battery powers the CyberX, giving it enough runtime for larger spaces. Dreame says the robot vacuum can cover up to five floors in a home. Paired with stair climbing, this makes it one of the first robots capable of tackling an entire multi-level house without manual relocation.

Why Stair-Climbing Robot Vacuums Matter

Stairs have been the unsolved problem in the robot vacuum industry for many years. Most households with multiple levels still rely on manual vacuuming for stairs and separate robot vacuums for each floor. By addressing stair climbing, Dreame moves closer to the idea of a true whole-home robot vacuum.

Price and Availability of the Dreame CyberX

Dreame has not yet released pricing or availability details. More information may follow after IFA, but for now, the CyberX remains a preview of what’s to come.

Takeaway

There is a lot we still don’t know about the Dreame CyberX. The CyberX represents a turning point for robot vacuums. It sets a new direction for the category, with its ability to climb stairs, scan environments in 3D, and work across five floors. Whether the technology proves reliable in everyday use will be the next big question.
