Dreame Unveils New Flagship Robot Vacuums at Dreame Next, Including the X60 Line and Aqua 20 Pro Roller Ultra

At the recent Dreame Next event in San Francisco, Dreame unveiled a broad range of new smart home products, but the company’s flagship robot vacuum lineup remained one of the biggest highlights of the event. The announcements centered around two major developments: expanded variants of the Dreame X60 platform and a new premium roller-mop robot called the Aqua 20 Pro Roller Ultra. Together, these products reveal Dreame’s continued focus on premium automation, advanced mopping systems, edge cleaning innovations, and increasingly specialized cleaning technologies.

Vacuum Wars attended the Dreame Next event after being invited by Dreame. However, Vacuum Wars does not accept sponsorships or free products, and we paid our own travel and accommodation expenses.

Dreame Continues Expanding the X60 Ecosystem

Dreame made it clear at the event that the X60 series remains central to its flagship robot vacuum strategy. The company showcased several upcoming X60 variants featuring upgraded edge cleaning systems, advanced mop automation, higher suction specifications, and improved mobility.

The announcements build on the success of the existing X60 platform, which currently holds a top position in the Vacuum Wars Top 20 Robot Vacuums rankings.

Dreame X60 Pro Ultra Complete Adds Longer-Reach Cleaning Arms

One of the most notable announcements was the new Dreame X60 Pro Ultra Complete, which introduces what Dreame calls Dual UltraExtend technology. This system allows both the side brush and the mop assembly to extend outward significantly farther than previous generations. According to Dreame, the side brush can extend up to 4.7 inches (12 cm), while the mop pad can extend up to 7.1 inches (18 cm).

Dreame demonstrated the technology reaching into narrow spaces, behind doors, and along difficult edges where standard robot vacuum designs often leave debris behind. Unlike many existing edge-cleaning systems that only extend slightly past the body, the X60’s implementation appeared designed for substantially greater reach.

The company emphasized that both the brush and mop systems can extend independently depending on the cleaning task.

The X60 Pro Ultra Matrix Introduces Automatic Mop Switching

Dreame also showcased a concept model called the X60 Pro Ultra Matrix. This version incorporates a mop-switching dock similar to the system previously shown on the Dreame Matrix 10 Ultra (See our review). The system allows the robot to automatically swap mop pads during a cleaning session to reduce cross contamination between rooms. For example, the robot could clean a kitchen using one set of mop pads, then return to the dock to exchange them before cleaning a bathroom.

While automatic mop washing and drying have become increasingly common on premium robot vacuums, automatic mop switching remains relatively rare. Dreame appears to be positioning this feature as part of a broader push toward fully automated floor care systems that require less manual intervention.

Flagship Specifications Continue Climbing

Dreame also announced that this variant is expected to feature up to 42,000 Pascals of suction using the company’s Vormax technology. If released with those specifications, these would rank among the highest official suction ratings currently announced for robot vacuums.

Another major focus for the X60 Pro Ultra Matrix was threshold crossing. Dreame stated that is may may be capable of clearing thresholds up to 10 centimeters. Threshold handling has become an increasingly important battleground among premium robot vacuums as brands work to solve one of the category’s most common real-world limitations: transitioning between rooms with raised flooring or tall barriers.

Dreame Introduces the Aqua 20 Pro Roller Ultra

In addition to the X60 line, Dreame also unveiled a new flagship robot vacuum called the Aqua 20 Pro Roller Ultra. Like the earlier release from this lineup, the Aqua 10 (see our review), the Aqua 20 uses a roller mop design. The Aqua 20 however introduces steam cleaning technology, and according to Dreame, the robot is capable of generating steam temperatures up to 320 degrees Fahrenheit (160 Celsius) to help loosen grime during cleaning. The roller mop itself is also heated during operation.

This places the Aqua 20 among a growing category of premium robot vacuums experimenting with active heated cleaning systems rather than relying solely on room-temperature water.

Heated Mop Washing Continues Expanding

The Aqua 20’s dock also continues Dreame’s push toward increasingly aggressive dock automation. Dreame stated that the base station can clean the mop using boiling-temperature water, a feature that has become increasingly common across the company’s premium robot vacuum lineup.

Roller Mops Continue Growing in Popularity

The Aqua 20 Pro Roller Ultra also reflects a larger trend developing in the robot vacuum industry. While dual spinning mop pads have dominated the premium category over the last several years, more manufacturers are now experimenting with roller-style systems that continuously clean the mop surface during operation.

The advantage of roller mops is that they can actively process dirty water while maintaining contact with the floor, potentially improving consistency during longer cleaning runs. At the same time, roller systems often involve different tradeoffs related to carpet handling, dock complexity, and maintenance.

Dreame’s entry into this category suggests the company sees roller mops as an increasingly important direction for premium robotic floor cleaning.

No Major Cyber Series Updates

Although Dreame displayed both the Cyber 10 robotic-arm robot vacuum and the stair-climbing Cyber X during the event, the company did not provide significant updates regarding release timing or new functionality. Instead, Dreame’s primary robot vacuum focus centered on expanding the X60 ecosystem, introducing new premium mopping technologies through the Aqua line, and the launch of multiple Dreame L60 robot vacuum variants, which we reported at the time of their announcement.

What These Announcements Suggest About the Robot Vacuum Market

The Dreame Next announcements highlighted several broader trends currently shaping the premium robot vacuum market. Manufacturers are increasingly competing on automation, mobility, edge cleaning, and advanced mopping systems rather than suction power alone. Features like extending mop arms, automatic mop switching, heated cleaning systems, and extreme threshold crossing capabilities suggest that premium robot vacuums are continuing to evolve into highly specialized floor care systems.

At the same time, many of these technologies are likely to gradually move downstream into midrange models over time. We are already seeing this trend across the broader market as features once limited to flagship robots become more common at lower price points.

Final Thoughts

Dreame used the Dreame Next event to reinforce its position in the ultra-premium robot vacuum category. The expanded X60 ecosystem focuses heavily on automation, edge cleaning, and mobility, while the Aqua 20 Pro Roller Ultra introduces Dreame’s newest approach to heated roller-based mopping.
