iRobot has announced its most powerful and intelligent robot vacuum and mop combo to date: the Roomba® Max 705 Combo Robot + AutoWash™ Dock. As part of its next-generation cleaning lineup, this flagship model combines significant suction upgrades, smart navigation, and a first-of-its-kind approach to carpet protection for an all-around, hands-free floor care solution.

A Flagship for Fully Automated Cleaning

The Roomba Max 705 Combo is the most advanced 2-in-1 in iRobot’s portfolio, designed to handle daily messes in busy households without requiring user intervention. It features 175x more suction power compared to the Roomba 600 series (in spot clean mode) and introduces heated mopping for more effective hard floor cleaning.

At the center of the system is the new PowerSpin™ Roller Mop with PerfectEdge®, iRobot’s most sophisticated mopping system to date. This mop spins while in use, gets deep into corners, and is continuously washed by the dock for optimal cleaning performance. What’s new and particularly noteworthy is the automated roller mop cover, which physically protects carpets from being touched by the wet mop during vacuuming—a feature not commonly seen on competitor models.

Smart Navigation with Carpet Awareness

Mapping and navigation are powered by ClearView™ Pro LiDAR and PrecisionVision™ AI, allowing the robot to map homes in 3D and intelligently identify and avoid common obstacles like shoes, cords, and even pet waste. iRobot’s platform has long been known for its accuracy and learning capability, and this model continues that trend by offering object-level cleaning and room-by-room customization via the Roomba Home app or voice assistants.

The AutoWash™ Dock: A New Level of Autonomy

Perhaps the most substantial leap in automation comes from the new AutoWash™ Dock. This all-in-one base station supports:

  • Self-emptying for up to 75 days,
  • Heated mop washing and drying to prevent odors and bacteria buildup,
  • Self-cleaning mechanisms, and
  • Auto-refilling of the mop’s water tank.

Together, the Roomba Max 705 Combo and AutoWash Dock deliver a system that is capable of managing a full home clean (from vacuuming to mopping to self-maintenance) almost entirely without user interaction.

Smart Controls and Connectivity

The system works with Alexa, Google Assistant, and Siri, allowing voice-activated control. Users can schedule cleanings, define no-go zones, and target specific rooms, objects, or floor types. This type of detailed cleaning customization helps tailor the robot’s performance to each household’s unique layout and daily cleaning demands.

Brief Note on Manufacturing

Like the rest of iRobot’s current lineup, the Combo 705 was developed in partnership with Picea Robotics, a Chinese original design manufacturer. This shift marks a new chapter in iRobot’s operations, aimed at streamlining production while staying competitive in both performance and price.
