Shared Features Across Both Models

The DS2000 and DS2010 share several key features that highlight Kenmore’s focus on everyday usability. Each vacuum offers:

  • Cordless freedom powered by lithium-ion batteries.
  • Self-standing design that eliminates the need to prop the vacuum against walls during use.
  • Compact storage with a foldable handle, making them space-saving choices for smaller homes.
  • 2-in-1 functionality, with both converting into a lightweight handheld vacuum (under 3 lbs) for quick cleanups in vehicles, boats, or tight spaces.
  • Swivel steering and LED headlights that enhance maneuverability and visibility.
  • 2-speed power suction allows users to toggle between modes for different floor types.
  • HEPA filtration to capture fine dust and allergens.

Both units come with useful accessories, including a dusting brush, docking station, and crevice tool (the DS2010 includes a longer crevice tool).

While the vacuums look nearly identical, the biggest distinctions lie in battery performance, weight, and voltage:

  • Kenmore DS2000

    • Up to 40 minutes of runtime (Eco Mode)

    • Powered by a 25.2V lithium-ion battery

Building on Past Success

Vacuum Wars previously named the Kenmore DS1030 the Best Lightweight Cordless Vacuum of 2024 (watch on YouTube). That model impressed with its ability to convert to a handheld vacuum and its EasyCut nozzle, which allowed users to clear hair tangles from the brushroll with the push of a button. The newly released DS2000 and DS2010 do not include the EasyCut nozzle. Instead, they focus on a folding handle design that makes for more compact storage—a feature that will appeal to those with limited space.

Final Outlook

The addition of the DS2000 and DS2010 gives consumers more options in Kenmore’s cordless lineup. The DS2000 provides a lighter build and lower price point, while the DS2010 extends runtime and power for larger cleaning sessions. Both models appear aimed at shoppers seeking versatile cleaning without the premium price tag.
