A Note From Our Founder on Recent Changes at Vacuum Wars

An update from Christopher White, Founder & CEO of Vacuum Wars.

Hi everyone — I wanted to take a moment to explain a few changes you may have noticed at Vacuum Wars recently, including new narrators, new faces (coming soon), and some shifts in how we’re producing content.

Over the past few years, Vacuum Wars has grown a lot. Depending on how you count, we’re now a team of around 15–20 people, including dedicated testers and filmmakers, editors, writers, and a group focused entirely on running and maintaining VacuumWars.com.

Recently, we’ve started using additional narrators and experimenting with new on-camera talent. I wanted to share the reasoning behind that and where we see things going long-term.

Why We’re Adding New Narrators and Contributors

The biggest reason is sustainability. For several years now, one of my main goals has been building systems so that Vacuum Wars can exist beyond just me. If this is going to be a company that lasts for decades, its value can’t hinge on a single voice or personality.

The real value of Vacuum Wars is our independence, our repeatable and rigorous testing methodology, and our commitment to high-quality production.

We don’t accept free products or sponsorships from manufacturers, and we’ve built a massive testing framework designed so results are consistent no matter who runs the tests. At this point, the amount of data we’ve collected is itself a huge asset and allows for better apples-to-apples comparisons than almost anyone else.

Scaling Output Without Sacrificing Quality

Staying competitive long-term means producing more content than we historically have. For most of the channel’s life, one video per week was our norm.

To scale responsibly—and without sacrificing quality—I’ve known for a long time that bringing in additional narrators and contributors would eventually be necessary.

I understand that changes like this can be jarring. Many of you follow Vacuum Wars because you trust my perspective, and I genuinely appreciate that. But relying solely on me isn’t sustainable forever.

This transition does come with some short-term friction, and yes, it’s a bit of a gamble—but I believe it’s the right move for the longevity of the brand if we continue to hire the right people.

No AI Voices — Only Real People

Levi is one of our new narrators, and he was my pick out of a very large pool of candidates. And just to be clear: no, he’s not AI.

We will not use AI voices to narrate Vacuum Wars. If you hear a voice on the channel, it belongs to a real human.

New On-Camera Talent and New Formats

We’re also starting to bring in new on-camera talent. We’ve experimented with this in smaller ways before, but we’re now ready to do it more intentionally on the main channel.

This opens the door to new formats and faster turnaround on certain types of content.

One challenge we’ve always faced is speed. Because we buy all our own products and spend weeks testing them, we’re often among the last channels to publish reviews on new models.

Our independence is our biggest strength—but it also slows us down. That’s why we introduced the “First Look” series, which lets us cover specs, features, and early comparisons before the full performance review comes later.

A Personal Note

There’s also a personal component to this shift. My wife has had a recurrence of cancer, and that’s something we’ve been dealing with over the past year.

While this wasn’t the main reason for making these changes, it did accelerate the timeline and made it clear that stepping back from narration was the right move.

I’m still deeply involved—still in the office, still working on data analysis, writing, and direction. But I’ll also say that our veteran writers and testers are becoming incredibly knowledgeable in their own right, which is exactly what I hoped would happen.

Looking Ahead

Since bringing in new narrators, we’ve already been able to increase output to two videos per week instead of one, and that’s just one of the benefits.

I truly believe Vacuum Wars is heading into its strongest era yet. If you’re willing, I’d ask for a little grace during this transition—maybe a like instead of a dislike when you hear a new narrator or see a new face.

These are real people doing their best work.

Thanks to everyone who’s supported Vacuum Wars over the years. None of this would be possible without you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Vacuum Wars still independent?

Yes. We still do not accept free products or sponsorships from manufacturers. Our reviews remain fully independent and based on in-house testing.

Are the new narrators AI voices?

No. Vacuum Wars will not use AI-generated voices. Every narrator you hear on the channel is a real person.

Is Christopher leaving Vacuum Wars?

No. Christopher is still deeply involved in the company, including testing oversight, data analysis, writing, and creative direction.

Will your testing methodology change?

No. Our rigorous, repeatable testing system remains the foundation of Vacuum Wars, and results are designed to stay consistent regardless of who is presenting the video.

Why are you doing more “First Look” videos?

Because we buy and test products ourselves, full reviews take time. “First Look” videos allow us to cover new launches and features earlier, while the complete performance testing comes later.
