iRobot Names Gary Cohen as New CEO

iRobot has announced the appointment of its new Chief Executive Officer, Gary Cohen, effective immediately. The move is part of iRobot’s strategic shift following recent restructuring efforts.

Gary Cohen brings over 25 years of executive leadership experience from his time at Gillette, Timex, and Energizer, where he was recognized for his expertise in turning around companies and driving growth. Most recently, he led a successful transformation at Qualitor Automotive, doubling sales and profits through innovative strategies and an effective omnichannel approach.

Andrew Miller, Chairman of the Board at iRobot, expressed confidence in Cohenโ€™s capabilities, noting his “proven track record and deep expertise in commercial growth, product innovation, and global distribution” as being crucial for iRobot’s future.

Cohen shared his enthusiasm about his new role, stating, “I am truly honored to join iRobot, a company with an iconic brand and a legacy of innovation. I look forward to reinvigorating the category, creating value, and continuing to build the future of consumer robotics.”

His prior roles include leadership at Timex and contributions to Energizer and Playtex, where he played a key role in significant sales and marketing strategies, including the sale of Playtex to Energizer for $1.16 billion.

Cohen will also join iRobotโ€™s board of directors after its annual shareholder meeting on May 23, 2024. He succeeds interim CEO Glen Weinstein, who will assist in the transition over the next 60 days.

With Cohen’s leadership, iRobot aims to bolster its market position by focusing on innovation, operational excellence, and enhancing its customer-centric product offerings.
