MOVA Robot Vacuum Naming Guide: What “Plus,” “Ultra,” and “Pro” Really Mean
The MOVA robot vacuum list is still rather slim because it is newer, at least to the American market. Therefore, their product lineup is less complicated than older brands, which can layer names on names as marketing tactics and technology evolve. Still, MOVA does follow a traceable naming convention:
- “Plus” means it comes with an auto-emptying dustbin, which is managed by the dock.
- “Ultra” means it comes with an “Ultra” dock, which washes and dries the mop pads (and in the case of the P50, also leaves mops in the dock when it does a vacuum only run).

Its extra-long extending mop and side brush help reach around furniture and into corners, while its motorized climbing system successfully crossed a 2-inch single threshold in our testing. Navigation, Obstacle Avoidance & Threshold Climbing
Both V-series models use retracting navigation hardware that lowers when the robot needs to fit beneath furniture and rises again in open areas for mapping and navigation. They also combine their navigation systems with obstacle-avoidance sensors for detecting objects in their path.
Both robots can raise their chassis to negotiate thresholds, door tracks, and other changes in floor height. The V50 Ultra Complete can cross single obstacles up to 1.6 inches and two-layer thresholds up to 2.36 inches.
The V70 upgrades to StepMaster 2.0, increasing those limits to 1.77 inches for a single threshold and 3.54 inches for combined thresholds.
Suction & Anti-Tangle Cleaning (24,000Pa vs 42,000Pa)
Both V-series robots pair high suction with anti-tangle cleaning hardware designed to reduce hair wrapping around their brushes.
The V50 Ultra Complete has an official suction rating of 24,000Pa and uses MOVA’s triple anti-tangle system, including the TroboWave DuoBrush.
The V70 Ultra Complete increases official suction substantially to 42,000Pa and is also equipped with MOVA’s Zero Tangle cleaning system.
Dual Spinning Mops with Extending Edge Cleaning
Both models use dual spinning mops and extending cleaning hardware to improve coverage around walls, corners, furniture, and other areas a round robot can have difficulty reaching.
The biggest change on the V70 is the reach of its new Dual MaxiReachX system. Its mop can extend up to 6.69 inches, while its side brush can extend up to 4.72 inches. The extensions deploy as needed to reach along walls, beneath furniture, around table legs, and into corners.
Automated Docks: Bagged vs EcoCyclone Bagless Auto-Emptying
Both V-series docks automate much of the maintenance associated with vacuuming and mopping, including emptying collected debris, washing and drying the mop pads, refilling water, and dispensing cleaning solution.
The V50 Ultra Complete uses a conventional bagged auto-empty system and washes its mop pads with water heated up to 176°F.
The V70 Ultra Complete introduces MOVA’s EcoCyclone bagless auto-empty system. Instead of transferring debris into disposable bags, it collects debris in a washable and reusable dust tank. MOVA says the tank can provide up to 100 days between emptying, depending on cleaning conditions.
The V70 also increases mop-washing temperature to 212°F (100°C) and dries the pads with 158°F (70°C) hot air in approximately one hour.

The fully automated dock adds convenience with hot water mop washing, drying, detergent dispensing, and auto-emptying. However, major downsides include extremely poor obstacle avoidance due to the removal of the RGB camera system, weak pet hair pickup, significant hair tangling, below-average real-world suction efficiency, and reduced battery performance and coverage.
