Roborock Q10 S5+ Review: Surprisingly Powerful for the Price

The Roborock Q10 S5+ is Roborock’s least expensive robot vacuum and mop combo with an auto-empty station. After purchasing one for ourselves and testing it extensively over the past few weeks, in many ways the Q10 S5+ absolutely stunned us. It achieved some of the highest scores we’ve ever recorded, rivaling premium robot vacuums at far higher price points. But in other areas, it fell short.

Based on early customer feedback we’ve seen, there are some reports that raise potential quality control questions, which we’ll discuss below. That said, at the time of testing, the Roborock Q10 S5+ ranked as the top robot vacuum in its price range on the Vacuum Wars Top 20 Robot Vacuum list. In this review, we’ll cover pros and cons, share test results, and explain where it fits as a budget robot vacuum and mop combo.

Vacuum Wars tests robot vacuums using a rigorous 100+ point inspection process. All products are purchased independently and reviewed without sponsorships of any kind, making our results some of the most trusted in the industry.

The Roborock Q10 S5+ is a robot vacuum/mop combo equipped with 10,000 Pa HyperForce suction, a Dual Anti‑Tangle system (JawScrapers Comb main brush plus anti‑tangle side brush), and the VibraRise 2.0 mopping system that combines dual‑zone sonic vibrations (up to ~3000 scrubs/min) and auto‑lifting for carpets, with ultrasonic detection to avoid wetting rugs. Navigation uses PreciSense LiDAR mapping and ReactiveTech obstacle avoidance, supporting multi‑level mapping. It features a self‑emptying RockDock Plus with a 2.7 L dust bag, designed to hold up to 7 weeks of debris. Other functions include smart carpet boost, app‑based scheduling, no‑go zones, off‑peak charging, and child‑lock controls. Roborock Q10 S5+ Price and Features

The Roborock Q10 S5+ is a LiDAR navigation robot vacuum and mop combo with an auto-empty dock and front obstacle avoidance sensors, available in black or white. The list price is about $550, but it frequently sells for less. At the time of writing, it was on sale for far less than that, making it one of the cheapest LiDAR robot vacuums with auto-empty functionality we’ve seen.

Roborock Q10 S5+ Pros

Roborock Q10 S5+ Suction Power and Carpet Cleaning Performance

We tested the Q10 S5+ on maximum suction, and it performed far above average. In fact, it recorded the fourth highest suction level of any robot vacuum we’ve tested out of more than 150 models. This suction translated into meaningful cleaning performance, which is not always guaranteed.

In our carpet deep clean test, it removed 96% of embedded sand—tied for the highest score ever recorded. It also excelled in our pet hair pickup test, scoring 96% compared to the average of 75.4%. If you need a robot vacuum that performs exceptionally well on carpet, the Roborock Q10 S5+ is among the very best.

Surface Debris Pickup and Hair Tangle Test

The Q10 S5+ uses a standard main brush and a fixed side brush to capture debris. It handled surface pickup well on both hard floors and carpets in our tests. The main brush includes an active hair wrap removal system with built-in combs.

In our 7-inch hair tangle test, it successfully removed 100% of hair, compared to the average robot vacuum, which typically leaves about 38% tangled.

Roborock Q10 S5+ Auto-Empty Dock

Roborock introduced a smaller, redesigned auto-empty station with this model. After each cleaning run, the robot empties its 350 ml dustbin into the 2.7 L disposable bag in the dock. Roborock claims this bag can last up to seven weeks before replacement.

It’s important to note that unlike higher-end Roborock models, this dock does not wash or dry the mop pads or refill the water tank. That’s a tradeoff for the lower price, but the auto-empty convenience at this price point is still a major advantage.

Roborock Q10 S5+ Mopping Performance

The Roborock Q10 S5+ includes a single vibrating mop pad, branded as VibraRise 2.0, which helps loosen stuck-on dirt. It automatically detects carpets and lifts the mop pad 8 mm to prevent wetting them. This allows owners with mixed flooring to vacuum and mop in one run, rather than separating the tasks.

In our dried-on stain test, the Roborock Q10 S5+ performed slightly above average with a score of 103, compared to the 93-point average for other robot vacuums. It also left behind just 0.5 grams of water, about half as much as competing models, which typically average 1.01 grams. This reduced water use helps prevent streaks and improves overall efficiency, making its VibraRise 2.0 mopping system particularly effective for the price.

Navigation and Battery Life of the Roborock Q10 S5+

Using a top-mounted LiDAR sensor, the Roborock Q10 S5+ mapped and navigated efficiently throughout our tests. It achieved a navigation efficiency score of 0.82 square meters per minute, outperforming the 0.70 m² per minute average among comparable models. This above-average speed and coverage demonstrate the effectiveness of Roborock’s LiDAR-based path planning, allowing the Q10 S5+ to clean quickly and thoroughly.

Battery performance was also above average. In our controlled tests, the Roborock Q10 S5+ achieved an efficiency of 2.82 minutes of runtime per 1% battery, compared to the 2.27-minute average for similar models. This strong battery performance allowed it to cover an estimated 1,243 square feet per charge, exceeding the average of 1,051 square feet. It also supports recharge and resume, enabling it to clean larger homes seamlessly without interruption.

Roborock App and Smart Features

The Q10 S5+ integrates with the Roborock app, offering real-time mapping, virtual barriers, multifloor mapping, and advanced scheduling. Users can also adjust suction and water levels, or set room-by-room cleaning preferences. While slightly limited compared to Roborock’s flagship models, the app remains one of the better-rated platforms in the robot vacuum market.

Roborock Q10 S5+ Cons

Poor Obstacle Avoidance Performance

While it’s a plus to see obstacle avoidance at this price point, the Q10 S5+ only uses structured light sensors without the benefit of cameras or lasers. As a result, performance was poor.

In our obstacle avoidance tests, it scored 6 out of 24 (test average: 16.6). The basic structured-light system is better than nothing, but plan to clear cords, socks, and small toys before runs.

Roborock Q10 S5+ Quality Control Concerns

We noted a higher-than-usual number of early customer reports describing units that stopped working within days or weeks. Not everyone experiences problems, and early reviews can skew negative, but the pattern is worth monitoring. As more long-term data becomes available, we’ll update its Vacuum Wars score and our recommendation on this website.

Final Verdict: Is the Roborock Q10 S5+ Worth It?

By the numbers, the Roborock Q10 S5+ is the most powerful and feature-rich budget robot vacuum we’ve tested. It currently holds the number 20 spot on the Vacuum Wars Top 20 Robot Vacuum list, which is almost unheard of for a model in this price range.

If you want top-tier vacuuming performance on carpets and hard floors, above-average mopping, and the convenience of an auto-empty station, the Roborock Q10 S5+ delivers incredible value. However, you’ll need to accept two tradeoffs: very weak obstacle avoidance and potential quality control concerns.

For buyers who don’t mind those limitations, the Q10 S5+ is arguably the best budget robot vacuum and mop combo in 2025. If reliability proves consistent over time, this could easily become our new favorite budget pick.

We review robot vacuums constantly, and new models launch nearly every week—so our top picks can change quickly. Want to see if this one still ranks? Check out our latest Top 20 list here.

  • Best Robot Vacuums – Vacuum Wars’ always up-to-date rankings of the best robot vacuums. Whether you call it a robot vacuum, a robotic hoover, or an automatic vacuum cleaner, our top picks will help you find the perfect cleaning companion for your home!

Is the Roborock Q10 S5+ worth it?

Yes — the Roborock Q10 S5+ offers exceptional value for its price. It delivers top-tier suction power, excellent carpet cleaning performance, and an auto-empty dock rarely seen under $400. Its mopping ability and battery life also exceed expectations. The only trade-offs are its weak obstacle avoidance and a few reported quality-control issues, but overall it’s one of the best budget robot vacuum and mop combos available in 2025.

How does the Roborock Q10 S5+ compare to the Roborock Q Revo or Q7 Max +?

The Q10 S5+ is more affordable and focuses on core cleaning performance. Models like the Q Revo and Q7 Max + include additional features such as mop-washing, faster navigation, or stronger obstacle avoidance. If you want the best balance between cleaning power and price, the Q10 S5+ is hard to beat — but the higher-end models are better for hands-off maintenance.

Does the Roborock Q10 S5+ avoid obstacles well?

Not really. The Q10 S5+ uses a basic structured-light sensor instead of cameras or lasers, and it scored 6 out of 24 in Vacuum Wars’ obstacle-avoidance test (compared with a 16.6 average). It’s best to pick up cords, socks, or toys before each run for the smoothest performance.

How long does the Roborock Q10 S5+ battery last?

In testing, the Q10 S5+ achieved about 2.82 minutes of runtime per 1% of battery — roughly 250 minutes per charge, cleaning an estimated 1,243 square feet on a single run. It also supports recharge and resume, so it can automatically return to the dock, recharge, and continue cleaning larger homes without manual input.

Does the Roborock Q10 S5+ wash or dry its mop pads?

No. The Roborock Q10 S5+ auto-empty dock only empties the dustbin; it doesn’t wash or dry mop pads or refill the water tank. Those self-maintenance features are reserved for premium Roborock models like the Q Revo or S8 Pro Ultra. However, the Q10 S5+ still includes the VibraRise 2.0 system, which vibrates the mop pad and lifts it 8 mm on carpet — a standout feature for its price.
