Key Features of the Roborock Qrevo S

The Roborock Qrevo S is a robot vacuum mop combo with an auto-empty bin that washes and dries the mop pads. In terms of the basics, it has pretty much everything the more expensive models do. In fact, it’s one of the cheapest robot vacuums we’ve seen that offers all these features.

Pros of the Roborock Qrevo S

Debris Pickup Performance: We found that the Roborock Qrevo S performs as well or better than more expensive versions when it comes to picking up debris from hard floors and carpets.

It uses a single main brush roller in a floating housing and a side brush to sweep up debris, and as with most Roborocks we’ve tested, it did an excellent job on both surfaces.

Suction and Airflow Performance: The Qrevo S had above-average airflow and well above-average results in our crevice pickup test. Interestingly, its suction power and carpet deep-cleaning test scores matched those of the higher-end Roborock Qrevo MaxV.

Practical Performance: When we added up just the raw power and practical performance results, the Qrevo S did slightly better than both the Roborock Qrevo MaxV and Qrevo Master, even though we would say that all three of these are quite good.

Mopping System: The Qrevo S’s mopping system is another big pro. It uses two spinning mop pads with electronically controlled water dispensing.

In our dried-on stain test, it scored 116 out of 176, which is above average and comparable to the Qrevo MaxV, outperforming the Tineco Floor One S3.

Carpet Compatibility: The two mop pads automatically lift when the robot senses carpet, allowing it to vacuum and mop mixed surfaces in one run.

Navigation: The Qrevo S uses a top-mounted lidar sensor to create a map and navigate efficiently. It mapped our floor plan in about five minutes, with good coverage and above-average navigation efficiency, similar to the Qrevo Master.

Multi-function Docking Station: A huge pro is its multifunction docking station. When the robot returns to its dock, it automatically empties its dustbin into a disposable bag, washes and dries its mop pads, and refills its mop tank.

Mobile App: The mobile app is another advantage. It offers most of the features found on higher-end Roborock models and is easy to use, with above-average ratings on both iOS and Android platforms.

Battery Life: It has the same 180-minute battery life as the other Qrevo models and performed well in our tests, covering about 1,268 square feet per charge—again, very similar to the Master model.

Cons of the Roborock Qrevo S

Obstacle Avoidance: The biggest con for us was its obstacle avoidance. While the Qrevo Master and MaxV use a front-mounted camera and 3D structured light for obstacle avoidance, the Qrevo S only uses 3D structured light, resulting in poor obstacle avoidance performance. In fact, it tied with the original Qrevo for the worst score we’ve seen in this category.

Lack of Camera Features: Without a camera, the Qrevo S lacks features like video calling, pet snaps, and pet search, which are available on the MaxV and Master models.

Mopping Features: The Qrevo S doesn’t have some of the advanced mopping features found in the higher-end models. For instance, it doesn’t include the “flexi arm” mopping system for better edge cleaning, nor does it use hot water to wash its mop pads, unlike the Master and MaxV models.

Base Cleaning and Sensors: While all three models wash their mop pads, the Master model also cleans its own base. Additionally, the Master and MaxV have a sensor in the station that monitors mop water cleanliness and initiates more washes when needed, a feature absent in the Qrevo S.

Conclusion

So, where does the Roborock Qrevo S land on the Vacuum Wars Top 20 list? As of the time of making this video, it ranks at number eight and is by far the cheapest robot vacuum in the top 10. While it doesn’t have as many features as the top-tier models, it offers excellent value for money. Though its obstacle avoidance is lacking, it excels in vacuuming and mopping floors at a high level, backed by a solid multi-function dock. It’s no surprise that the Qrevo S is one of Roborock’s best sellers.
