Bissell Cleanview XR Cordless Stick Vacuums Released

A recent visit to Amazon brought us a surprise in the form of a pair of new cordless stick vacuums from Bissell. The brand hasn’t released a new cordless model in awhile with the last review we’ve done being the FeatherWeight Cordless. The two new models make up the Bissell Cleanview XR series. While we haven’t done a Cleanview XR review yet, we did want to share what we do know.

About the Bissell Cleanview XR Cordless Models

At the time of publishing Bissell had two Cleanview XR cordless stick vacuums. One is called the Cleanview XR or XR 200W and the other is the Cleanview XR Pet or XR Pet 300W.

Both models have the same stick-vacuum design with the visual difference being the color. The XR model is currently solid in black and the XR Pet is black with a fuchsia tube.

Similarities: Cleanview XR and XR Pet

The Cleanview XR and XR Pet have a lot in common including:

  • 24V removable lithium-ion battery
  • Ability to convert to a hand-held vacuum
  • LED headlights on the main brush rol
  • Crevice tool
  • 2-in-1 dusting brush
  • Wall mount
  • .3L dustbin

The two Cleanview models also have Bissell’s Tangle-Free Brush Roll, Easy Empty Dirt Tank and swivel steering. Bissell lists both models as weighing in at 5.9 pounds, barely heavier than the updated Dyson V8 (review) cordless we recently tested.

The XR and more powerful XR Pet are both priced significantly lower than the Bissell ICONPET Turbo Edge cordless which has been on sale for around two years. Bissell never stated the wattage of that model which ran for up-to 50 minutes.

Differences

There are three key differences between the XR and XR Pet models.

First, the standard Cleanview XR is rated at 200W of power whereas the XR Pet is 50% higher at 300W of power.

Second, even with its additional power, the XR Pet has a maximum run time of 40 minutes on its lowest power setting with a non-powered attachment. That’s 5 minutes longer than the Cleanview XR.

Third, the Cleanview XR Pet 300W model includes the new Deep Cleaning Fur Brush accessory.

One thing that we aren’t certain of is if the main brush roll is the same on both models. They look the same as far as size goes, but they do have a different color to them. This may only be cosmetic, however.

Cleanview XR and other Bissell Cordless Vacuums

It isn’t clear if the Cleanview XR models will replace older models in Bissell’s lineup. With the pricier model still being a budget price, we anticipate Bissell releasing a new flagship cordless model soon. Whether that model carries the Cleanview name or not we’re unsure.
