Brands seem to be adding more specialized cleaning systems while also experimenting with robots that can manipulate objects, share household infrastructure, and take on tasks beyond the floor. We saw products that are already available, models scheduled to arrive soon, and ambitious concepts that may take much longer to reach consumers.

MOVA Explores a Wider Future for Home Robotics
MOVA used IFA 2026 to show its plans extend well beyond robot vacuums. The AstraX robotic lawn mower concept featured a working arm with a gripper and support for attachments such as a trimmer. During the demonstration, the mower moved to music while holding a fan to show visitors the arm’s range of motion.
The company also demonstrated the Knot 80 (a biology-inspired robotic hand prototype) and displayed a quadruped robotic dog concept.
MOVA V70 Ultra Complete, E50 Ultra, and M50 Ultra
Among the products closest to market, the MOVA V70 Ultra Complete stood out for an extendable mop pad that reaches up to 17 centimeters (about 6.7 inches) to clean around furniture legs and other obstacles.
MOVA is also expanding its E Series with the E50 Ultra and adding the M50 Ultra Wet and Dry floor washer, which has a handle that folds and extends for cleaning at different angles and under furniture.
MOVA V70 Ultra Complete

The MOVA V70 Ultra Complete is a flagship robot vacuum and mop with a manufacturer-rated 42,000 Pa of suction and unusually far-reaching edge-cleaning hardware. Its MaxiReachX system can extend the rotating mop up to 17 cm and the side brush approximately 12 cm beyond the robot. StepMaster 2.0 raises the chassis to cross single thresholds up to 45 mm or two-stage obstacles measuring a combined 90 mm, while retractable DToF navigation helps the robot fit beneath lower furniture. The EcoCyclone dock automatically empties debris into a washable, reusable bagless container rated for up to 100 days of collection. It also washes the mop pads with water heated to as much as 212°F, dries them with 158°F air, dispenses cleaning solution, and cleans its washboard. Dreame Expands Robotic Arms, Steam Cleaning, and Automated Floor Care
Dreame occupied two halls at IFA 2026, with one space for its broader appliance lineup and another devoted to vacuums and floor care. That scale matched the range of ideas on display, from a humanoid assistant to new robot vacuum docks and hard floor cleaners.
Dreame Echo Home Assistant
The Dreame Echo concept was on display sorting and loading laundry. Those actions may sound simple, but recognizing, grasping, and handling soft objects remains difficult for autonomous robots. While Echo isn’t a vacuum, it was a great example of how floor-care companies are exploring broader household robotics.
Dreame Cyber10 Ultra Robotic Arm
The Cyber10 Ultra robot vacuum returned with a more ambitious robotic arm system. Dreame showed versions designed not only to grasp objects but also to clean corners using attachments stored in the base station. These include a small vacuuming module and a compact mopping head.
Dreame SmartSwap and the T Series
Dreame also previewed SmartSwap technology for a Wet and Dry floor cleaner that can automatically swap a wet roller mop for a dry brush when it detects carpet. In other words, one machine can move between wet hard floor cleaning and dry carpet cleaning without requiring users to change the head manually.
For hard floors, Dreame displayed its new T Series that was first announced in Paris and is expected to reach Europe. The top-tier T16 Pro Heat includes WhaleSweep, a robotic side arm that extends to collect larger particles and debris near the machine’s path.
Dreame Aqua20 Roller and X60 Dock Options
The Aqua20 Roller robot mop is currently being prepared for regional launches. Dreame says the system uses steam at up to 320 degrees Fahrenheit, a claim we’ll evaluate if and when the finished model is available.
As for the X60 family, it’s expanding with multiple dock configurations. Dreame showed a Matrix version with a mop-swapping base station and a plumbed version designed to connect to home water lines for automatic refilling and draining. These variations reflect a wider industry push to reduce routine dock maintenance.
Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete
Vacuum Wars Stars 3.98
The Dreame X60 Max Ultra Complete is Dreame’s flagship robot vacuum-mop combo, featuring a slim 3.13-inch (79.5 mm) retractable-LiDAR design paired with exceptional 51 mm (2-inch) threshold climbing. It delivers powerful 35,000 Pa suction and uses the HyperStream Duo Divide anti-tangle brush with an extending side brush to improve edge cleaning and prevent hair wrap. In testing, it performed extremely well on hard floors and carpets, achieving an 89% carpet deep-clean score and a rare 100% score in flattened pet-hair pickup. Its upgraded mopping system includes dual spinning pads with warmed water, 15 N downward pressure, 21.5 mm mop lifting, an extending edge mop, and optional mop removal for vacuum-only runs. Obstacle avoidance is another highlight, using binocular AI cameras, edge sensors, and Proactive Illumination to detect objects as small as 1 cm while avoiding 22 of 24 objects in testing. The self-empty dock includes a 3.2 L dust bag, boiling-temperature mop washing, hot-air drying, fast charging (approximately 80 minutes), and automatic detergent and odor-control refilling. Downsides include slightly below-average navigation efficiency, modest battery efficiency and coverage of about 950 square feet per charge, and a relatively small 235 mL onboard dustbin. Roborock combines home systems with new cleaning launches
Roborock used IFA 2026 to show how its cleaning lineup is expanding in several directions at once. That included a new product category, more integrated home-cleaning systems, and updates to its existing floor-care lineup.
Robotic Pool Cleaner and 4-in-1 Homewide Cleaner
Roborock entered a new category with its first robotic pool cleaner.
The company also showed a more experimental idea called the 4-in-1 Homewide Cleaner, which places a robot vacuum dock beneath a washing machine. Both systems share water refilling and drainage lines, creating a more integrated cleaning station with less duplicated plumbing.
Roborock Saros 20 Flow
The most immediate robot vacuum announcement was the Roborock Saros 20 Flow. It launched on September 14, 2026, and brings the company’s Flow roller mop system to the Saros line. The roller format is part of a broader shift toward mops that continuously manage dirty water instead of relying only on stationary pads.

The F25 Ultra Steam Generation 2 Wet and Dry floor cleaner is releasing at the end of September. According to Roborock, the new version produces 2.5 times as much steam as the previous generation. We’ll look at real-world cleaning performance when the model becomes available to us.

Narwal Brings Track Mopping to the Freo Line and Introduces the V50 Cube
Narwal held an off-site event alongside IFA 2026 to introduce the Freo 20 and Freo 20 Edge. Both bring the company’s FlowWash track-mop system to the more accessible Freo family. The track-mop (sometimes described as a treadmill mop) uses a broad flat surface that significantly increases contact with the floor. Until now, Narwal had reserved this design for its flagship Flow models.
But bringing that system into the Freo line could make the design available to shoppers who want its cleaning approach without every feature and cost associated with the flagship tier.

The Narwal Freo 20 is a robot vacuum and mop combining up to 31,000 Pa of suction with the FlowWash system, a rolling track mop that continuously rinses itself with water while cleaning. Sixteen nozzles supply water heated to 140°F, while 12 N of downward pressure helps remove stubborn stains. EdgeReach extends the mop toward walls and corners, and the DualFlow system pairs an aerodynamic main brush with an active-reversing side brush to resist hair tangles. TwinAI Dodge obstacle avoidance uses two 1080p RGB cameras and AI to recognize more than 300 object types, distinguish dry debris from liquid spills, and adjust cleaning. The all-in-one dock automatically empties debris into a 2.4-liter bag, washes the mop with hot water, dries it with 140°F air, and performs water-tank self-cleaning. Narwal Freo 20 Edge
The Narwal Freo 20 Edge is a robot vacuum and mop featuring Narwal’s FlowWash system, which continuously wets and cleans a 10.5-inch track-style mop using 16 water nozzles and a scraper that removes dirty water and debris. Narwal says the mop rotates at 80 RPM, applies 12N of downward pressure, and can use water heated to 140°F. The robot has up to 31,000Pa of claimed suction, a DualFlow anti-tangle system for the main and side brushes, and EdgeReach cleaning that extends the mop beyond the robot’s body and reverses the side brush to sweep debris from corners. Navigation uses hidden dToF LiDAR, while dual-sided 3D structured light supports obstacle avoidance without a camera-based object-recognition system. Its all-in-one dock automatically empties debris into a 2.5-liter bag, rinses the mop and internal water paths, and dries the mop with 113°F air. Additionally, Narwal rounded out its display with the V50 Cube handheld vacuum and its auto-empty base station, along with an upcoming Wet and Dry floor cleaner series. Narwal says the flagship model will clean with very hot water and steam. Final specifications and regional availability will determine how these products fit into the market.
iRobot Previews the Duo and Two New Roombas
The company’s IFA announcements ranged from a two-part floor-cleaning concept to new Roombas built around improved mopping and anti-tangle features. That made iRobot’s display one of the more varied in the category.
iRobot Duo Concept
The iRobot Duo is an unusual two-part floor-washing concept. Its larger unit uses steam to pretreat messes before mopping with strong downward pressure. It can also deploy the smaller onboard robot to reach spaces the main machine cannot access.
While still a prototype, this design suggests one way future robots could divide cleaning tasks between specialized units.
Roomba 675 and Roomba 875
iRobot also presented the Roomba 675 and Roomba 875 at IFA 2026. Both use a new anti-tangle brush with a hair-cutting comb and include roller-mop systems. The Roomba 675 uses an AI-directed water spray to pretreat tougher messes, while the Roomba 875 adds ThermaMist to apply a heated mist before cleaning with hot water.
iRobot Roomba Max 875 Combo Robot + AutoWash Dock
The iRobot Roomba Max 875 Combo Robot + AutoWash Dock is iRobot’s flagship robot vacuum and mop. Vacuum Wars has not yet independently evaluated it, so the specifications and performance comparisons here are manufacturer claims pending studio evaluation. iRobot lists 35,000 Pa of suction and 20 L/s of airflow, with a lowering skirt that seals against carpet to concentrate airflow. Its mopping system uses heated ultrasonic mist to soften dried-on residue before a 300 RPM roller mop scrubs with 18 N of downward pressure. The wet roller lifts behind a protective shield when the robot detects carpet, while the roller and side brush extend toward walls and corners. A hair-cutting main brush and spiral side brush are designed to reduce tangles. The maintenance dock washes the roller with 176°F water, dries it with 131°F air, dispenses cleaning concentrate, refills the robot, and self-empties dry debris. Dual-line LiDAR mapping and camera-based obstacle avoidance support room-to-room navigation; iRobot claims recognition of more than 300 common objects. Ecovacs Refreshes the Deebot X12
Ecovacs launched the Deebot X12S as a refresh of its flagship Deebot X12. Buyers can choose an OmniCyclone bagless station or a Pro Omni bagged station, giving them different approaches to debris disposal.
The dock adds a pressurized water spray designed to clean the mop-washing tray and reduce how often the user must remove and scrub it by hand. Ecovacs also redesigned the underside of the robot vacuum to move more easily across higher-pile carpet while maintaining close contact with carpet fibers.
Ecovacs Deebot X12S OmniCyclone
The Ecovacs Deebot X12S OmniCyclone is a premium robot vacuum and mop built around the OZMO Roller 3.0 system, which continuously rinses its 10.6-inch roller through a 32-nozzle system while scrubbing at up to 260 RPM. The listing highlights 53AW BLAST suction, ZeroTangle 4.0, TruEdge 3.0 edge cleaning, and FocusJet pre-spray for dried-on stains. For carpet protection, the roller lifts 0.59 inches and a shield lowers to isolate it from carpet fibers. AIVI 3D 4.0 supports obstacle avoidance, while PowerBoost Charging Plus can restore 13% battery during a three-minute mop-washing interval. Tineco Adds Steam Floor Washers, Carpet Cleaning, and Cordless Automation
Tineco displayed a broad floor-care lineup and highlighted four models introduced ahead of IFA. The new Carpet One Steam brings steam cleaning to the brand’s carpet cleaner range, while the Floor One S11 Fusion Steam and Floor One S9 Artist Steam expand its hard floor lineup.
Tineco says these steam systems can address up to 99.99 percent of bacteria without chemical cleaners.
The Pure One Station 7 ZeroTouch cordless vacuum focuses on dust disposal. Its station automates everything from emptying the vacuum to replacing the dust bag, reducing direct contact with collected debris and streamlining routine maintenance.
Other Floor Care Brands at IFA 2026
Beyond the brands discussed so far, IFA’s home-appliance halls included longtime European vacuum manufacturers such as Electrolux, Karcher, and Miele. Miele displayed its Triflex HX3 cordless models, which are now available in the United States.
We also watched the DJI ROMO robot vacuum operate at the DJI booth, saw Xiaomi’s growing floor-care lineup, and visited Umade’s visually distinctive display of Wet and Dry floor cleaners. Availability varies by brand and region, so treat these sightings as a view of the international market rather than a promise that every model will be sold in the United States.
What IFA 2026 Tells Us About the Next Year in Floor Care
The most important development at IFA wasn’t one single product. It was the convergence of several ideas that have been building across the industry.
Roller and track mops are spreading beyond a few flagship models. Steam and hot-water systems are appearing in more categories. Docks are taking on more cleaning and disposal tasks, and manufacturers are exploring ways to connect those docks directly to household infrastructure. At the same time, robotic arms and multi-purpose home robots are moving from distant research demonstrations into branded consumer-electronics showcases.
Many of these concepts still have a long way to go before they become dependable household products, and some shown at IFA 2026 are already available or have later launch dates. Overall, IFA showed us how quickly the definition of a cleaning robot is expanding, and we’re excited about the future.
